I sat up from my bed my body covered in cold sweat as I struggled to conjure any sort of words or thoughts for what I was feeling.
I got up taking short slow steps towards the window my teal eyes taking notice of the black sky and the absence of the grey orb that usually lit up the night sky.
A deafening explosion caused me to stumble back followed by the strong hurricane like winds that came soon after, I was already cautious but my body had become completely apprehensive to my surroundings.
Were we... Being attacked?
I rushed towards my bedrooms door quickly opening it, my mother was in the middle of an incantation while my father who was already geared stood in front of her as a shield.
"Emrys! I need you to come here!" my father's voice held not a bit of patience and though it was rather forceful, there was a hint of fear within the tone of his voice.
I ran to him my eyes focused on my mother who was still too focused on her spell to notice I was right beside her. "Emrys, Listen to me! I need you to use spells similar to the one you used a couple weeks ago!"
I looked to him in shock as his eyes shot back towards the treeline, or perhaps what was beyond it, a man appeared his calm appearance didn't mask his clear murderous intent towards us, and despite my mothers focus she seemed to wince upon noticing his pressure.
Curly blonde hair similar to my fathers though the man's hair length reached down to his shoulders he wore armour, a white coloured one that reflected the moons glow quite well and a red cloth tethered to his armour.
Two dragons and an upside down cross remained at the center of it.
"its nice of to see you again" the man said a smug smile plastered on his face as he grabbed the hilt of his sword.
"don't patronise me Lancelot!" My father said audaciously only eliciting a laugh from the older man.
"thats the first thing you're saying after seeing you're older brother for the first time in nearly 7 years..." Lancelot retorted the mana around him only grew with each passing second. "I'll drag you home whether you like It or not Tristan!"
Brother?
His golden hair shone brightly his greeneyes glowed in a similar fashion as his golden coloured mana completely enshoruded him and my father's body tensed slightly at the sight.
Holy magic... I'd read of it within the text, it was one only gifted to what was known as 'gods child'.
I closed my eyes my faith and trust on my father to the max as I concentrated my mana to the palm of my hands.
[wind spears]
I thought within my mind and as I willed it the wind around my hands condensed, shooting a high speed wind harpoon towards the man with an outburst of air and energy occurring as it made contact with him.
The air around him cleared out and my eyes could only widen in shock at this.
"is that him? ...The boy you two have been hopelessly fighting for?" Lancelot said his eyes seethed with contempt the moment he laid eyes upon me.
"stay behind me...." Tristan murmured his mana glowing a bright teal colour as he struck his spear into the ground, vines rose out of the ground surrounding the man. "you're fighting a losing battle Tristan"
"there are plenty of women lined up for you, so why waste time on a lowly druid such as her" he glanced at me before looking back towards my father who didn't budge a bit at his words. "that boy... Poses a threat to this world, even the druids know that the two of you put too much trust upon the elves"
The man's mana only continued to rise as he spoke to the point where my father's vines melted before they even made contact with his mana.
Several other similarly fashioned people appeared out of the brushes their faces covered by helmets, most likely knights and footsoldiers following their captains orders.
Tristan let out a battle cry as he charged towards the assailant now known as Lancelot, earth magic assisting him as he boosted forwards.
Lancelot sighed at this his similarly green eyes met Tristans as he held his hands towards his younger brother.
What exactly was he planning?
[divine prison]
He chanted, golden chains surrounded my father who collapsed right there and then. "I'm doing this for you, little brother"
"Yelaina get you and Rys out of there now!" he ordered his voice didn't seem to reach my mother who was still busy with whatever incantation she was planning.
Lancelots attention turned to me
His hands now pointed directly at me and my mother, it was now or never, my breathing now stable I looked towards him with full concentration.
I let my mana flow out condensing it upon its release, the man and his men flinched at the sight, the white light enshoruded me and I shivered in delight at the feeling I'd been craving.
I'm sure my parents had known what I was doing, but simply disregarded it as my usual mana training.
But this... This was different.
I had 10 seconds at best before I completely burnt out, utilising both wind magic and my weird light magic I used the only spell I knew, or what I'd created.
[SUBJUGATION]
All in a flash the soldiers including Lancelot were surrounded in a bright light infused wind magic, their body unable to move under such immense pressure, the chains around Tristan broke as he ran over towards Yelaina.
[Excursion]
My mother finally chanted a large magic circle surrounded the three of us, my father grabbed my mother before attempting to grab me, his fingers inches away from mine.
But without even time for me to process what had occurred he was gone.
In the blink of an eye he was gone.
And I was in the middle of nowhere.
The white aura around me disappeared and I chuckled lightly. "that's my limit"
My eye lids fell heavy and I fell headfirst into the cold snow.
