I could only watch in awe at Eira's flawless use of ice magic, it wasn't quite like the northern dragon styles I'd heard of, it was something else entirely, when it came to the use of ice magic id known practically everything there was to know off(which may be a slight exaggeration) but hers was different.
She was using different components from different styles and incorporating them into her own.
[ice spear]
her timid voice carried through the air, as the snowflakes that fell gathered into clusters of now clearly visible spears that shot through the air at high speeds.
Emrys charged forward amped up with both mana and wind as he moved forwards through the thick dense snow below his feet, the mana in his hands condensing as fast forming winds formed around his fists similar to that of miniature twisters.
and of course, as expected he tore through them with incredible efficiency using his body in a rather odd fashion that didnt seem to match any of the northern or southern styles. but still he had this thing to him.
like he'd been through countless battles.
"looks like it's my win again, but your doing a great job," Emrys said calmly as he helped the elven girl back to her feet, she paused for a moment examining the bandages wrapped around his hand.
he sighed letting her grasp and feel over the bandages despite there being no injuries.
'im not hurt because of you so don't worry. it's not even an injury if I'm being honest" I stood up picking up two swords as I threw one towards Emrys to which he caught.
It was my turn for combat training.
As it was, I was the strongest physically and mana-wise, but when it came to using swords and minimizing bodily movements, I still lacked in such things and considering elder and greater dragons, the holy church, no the whole world is against us.
I was the only one strong enough to protect us as it was right now.
Emrys winded up his arms as he warmed up.
"listen up Syrus, I need to gouge how strong I am so give me everything you've got" my face must've been in disbelief because Emrys could only give me thumbs up over and over again when I didn't respond.
But after a while, he gave up, and closed his eyes as he released his mana
But it was different...
It felt safe.
And in a burst of speed, he was right in front of me, sword to my neck his eyes a bright white colour with his hair a matching pair. I felt my mana surge and every part of my body wanted to scream out and run but I clenched my jaw as the mana within my body surged greatly, pushing back both the lynx hybrid and the elven girl who already had a hard time due to the depth of the snow. I threw my fists in a fit of rage...desperation? Honestly, at this point, I couldn't even tell. But Emrys's body moved in an unnatural manner easily avoiding what should've been a fatal blow, landing beside me sword to my neck
"what the hell... Just happened" my body quivered in fear despite the situation that had occurred already passing. His mana was equal to mine but I felt fear.
Fear that shouldn't have been there.
I paused for a moment quickly realising that the surge in mana had caused both Eira and the Lynx hybrid to be buried underneath a substantial amount of snow.
Panic quickly rose within me but that worry quickly dissipated as a discharge of snow erupted a couple of metres in front of me as both Eira and the lynx hybrid made their way out.
The carriages naturally stayed upright with a barrier already protecting them. But the food that had been cooking wasn't quite as lucky.
I looked over towards Emrys then towards my quivering hand's memories quickly flashing through my mind.
4 months earlier...
"damn it all we should've wiped out those blasted druids when we had the chance!" the roar of a man resonated through the room a discharge of mana following after, his anger and bloodlust held no limits as scales began to form upon his body.
"calm yourself Roth, the matter wasn't something within our control anyways" my father stated calmly his words only caused the man's blood lust to further increase. "don't tell me this was your idea!"
"it wasn't, the druids were close to my master and I wished to respect his opinion my relationship with the druids is nothing more than that" my father calmly stated the eyes of several others landed on me.
"it's unprecedented for a greater dragon-like yourself to hold the spot of an elder it's even weirder for such a child to be in a congregation such as this serving as the supposed inheritor of Vihars will despite being born of ice," a blue haired woman said sternly her eyes narrowed into slits and her calm like aura seemed to falter as her disappointment soon began to become evident.
"he may be less experienced but Vihar entrusted him to us, it's our duty to at least respect his wishes" the council of dragons soon burst out into a colloquium neither party able to find any clear ground.
"I've had enough of this!" The heat within the room rapidly increased, the intense magic from several godlike beings forced my body to collapse under such pressure my breath became heavy.
Until it wasn't...
"You call yourself elder dragons. Valroth the great, Tanyia the wise, Eldingar the patient, Gelian the strong, Stasis the kind and Viserion the Benevolent" the mana within the room quickly cleared out as the scowls in their faces became evident. A bright light illuminated the room and I felt... Safe.
Feathers fell down like slowly moving petals floating atop calm ocean waves.
A celestial.
Its regal presence caused each of the elder dragons and their successors to bow including my father, and while I was slow at it I quickly mimicked their behaviour. Taking a quick glance at the godlike presence that was just above.
It's feathers covered its face and its attire seemed to be more leaning toward a priest than a warrior.
But from its voice, I could tell that it was a girl.
A calm soothing voice at that.
I grasped my forehead as my head throbbed with pain. Both Eira and the ice Lynx rushed to my side to quickly support me, my memory of the events occurring after was... Muddled.
I couldn't recall the Celestial face, the only thing that I could recall, was her soothing voice and the feathers of her wings that flowed down from the sky similar to that of a flower petal that had detached itself from its original plants.
"Eira..." I called out weakly, my mana was flimsy, unlike its usual state I could feel it flow erratically through my body accompanied by waves of headaches. "Help. Em... Rys"
My vision blurred and the only thing I could hear was Eiras's voice which sounded like nothing more than an echo as I slowly drifted off into the realm of unconsciousness.
