Memories of the time I had with my parents that had subconsciously been drifting in the back of my mind seemed to resurface at the new Syrus had suddenly shared. I had always thought it was a possibility Cirrus would throw a curve ball like this at me, despite his regal presence there were very notable not so godly habits he seemed to have and it seemed one of them was tricking me.
"how much longer till we reach this place you talked off" I Inquired with a scowl, the man took note of my frustration and rather than answering he began to hum a cordial melody that i was all to familiar with. As much as i want to say i was a perfect child, despite my mental age, i was anthing but, i often snuck and crept around to find new sources of knowledge and the only way my mother could get me to fall asleep was by humming this specific melody that had been native to the druids.
I could feel a lump form and my eyes widen ever so slightly, the man mustve felt the evergrowing tension and the mana erupting throughout my body as my anger swelled with each passing second. "I'm sure you have some questions."
the man started suddenly as we suddenly came to a halt, a large silver door imbedded with jewelry stood just before us, far different from any of the others we'd past by. "any answers the three of you may be searching for... will be found on the other side"
I shot a glance at the knight once more before glancing back at the door that stood hust before me. anything i was searching for could be found?
The knights incredibly straight forward yet cryptic message replayed in my head just before he opened the door revealing a cluster of chemicals and scientific tools. In the center of said mess was a man whos appearance was very similar to mine.
"white hair seems to be a trend up north" I noted, our host was a handsome man who looked to be in his mid 20s his grey eyes observed the three of us carefully before the tense facial expression he had broke out into a smile.
"Its nice to finally meet you. Emrys." he said with a smile, his eyes glazed over me before meeting Eira. "...and you must be"
The elven girl shocked to suddenly be the center of attention took cover behind Syrus. My eyes didn't leave the man however due to the overwhelming feeling he seemed to resonate. my instincts were telling me that if he truly felt like it he was fully capable of tearing me apart before I could even react.
"I was told that whatever answers I was in search of would be found here. so hurry the hell up and tell me where my parents are!" my impatience didn't surprise the man in fact he let out a light chuckle which only irked me even further.
"your parents and your little siblings our both safe," he said calmly, the built-up tension in my body seemed to dissipate as relief quickly set in.
wait hold on.
siblings?
"their not up North though since we thought it'd be better to train the two of you without disturbance from the outside" the man explained as he began to rinse his face.
"And why is that necessary?" I inquired.
Syrus prepared to speak but was quickly silenced by the man.
"I'm sure Syrus has told you already but it's to prepare you for Carnium academy" he continued and with a snap of his finger the dirty chemic clothing he had changed to one that was befitting his aura. "you guys haven't told me why it's necessary or who you are!"
my frustration had obviously gotten the man somewhat irritated. he took a quick glance at me before displaying his immense magical energy in a flare. my body instinctually stiffened and without even realizing I had already made space between myself and the man.
"I am the northern sword god Mikaela" The man explained as the sudden flare of magic began to dissipate. "...and for why I'm helping someone like you, Marcus, its because you're the reincarnation of my best friend, the supreme magus"
The supreme magus, Merlin.
one who was considered to be a god among men.
"and how does enrolling in said academy help" I queried ignoring the glaring question that was situated at the back of my mind.
just how many people know who I truly am?
"as it is now. you're only ally is me and those who serve me," he answered using ice magic he created a multitude of ice stars that glimmered overhead, and in his hands a tiny light.
"And since Cirrus is now dead the circumstances have changed greatly." the man continued as he took slowly stepped towards me.
"This small light is us..." I looked up at him not liking where he was taking things. "and the multitude of lights above us is the enemy"
"the title of god means nothing to those of equal standing. Including the elder dragons, my siblings, and the celestials" he explained calmly and I nodded at his explanation.
at any moment we could be crushed so we had to tread carefully.
"so enrolling me in the academy should somewhat get me off the grid" I deduced and the man nodded with a smile. "nice to see you're quick on the uptake"
I looked over to Syrus who nodded back and behind him the embarrassed and confused Eira who was too young to wrap her head around such a thing.
"My job is to keep you safe until you've fully matured and accomplished your true destiny" Mikaela explained his eyes glistening with determination. "and what exactly is my destiny?"
at this sudden inquiry, the man sighed deeply his grey eyes met my blue ones and as he pointed at my chest a mystical glow illuminated the room. My chest felt... and soon that feeling spread throughout the entirety of my body. a strange warmth that made me feel as though I could do anything.
"Emrys... your destiny is something only you can discover and it's not something fate would accept so easily if revealed to you." Mikaela explained. "starting tomorrow... your training begins"
