Erik had completed assigning all the tasks that he wanted completed in the next six months. So he decided that he would start on some of these side missions. The first one was pretty easy and since he couldn't add centralized heating yet. Erik decided that he would start by adding wood stoves to all the house which would be pretty easy.
Since he was doing it for free, later he would tell to people to return the stoves once centralized heating and air was a thing.
Erik with the upmost haste rushed over towards the blacksmith since it had already been two months since he started production on the fences. Fjord was surprised to see Erik normally a Jarl would have to be visited by the people not the Jarl doing the visiting.
"How are you doing Fjord are the fences coming along well?" Asked Erik.
"They are coming along great now, even though some of my apprentices didn't start off to well but with your guidance we got along just fine." Said Fjord.
"In all honestly I knew that was going to happen and hoped you made mistakes to learn how to create it better over time." explained Erik.
"As expected of The Jarl of The Phoenix Clan thinking more than three steps ahead." said Fjord.
"You give me to much credit, I just know a thing or two about most things." said Erik.
After exchanging a few more words with Fjord about how they had simplified gate production and how Erik had showed them how to pull the product out without ruining the mold. Erik finally got to the topic he had come over to discuss, the wood stove.
After a few hours of explaining it to Fjord he asked when he could start on it. Erik stopped him and told him that he was going to teach him and the others how to make the furnaces properly without any mistakes being made since the clan needed these right away.
Fjord thanked him and Erik was on his way to the longhouse, but before he got there he heard horns on the harbor. The way the Phoenix Clan worked to access the main dock the was a gate that let the longboats in and out. There were over 200 hundred archers split into four shifts that watched and monitored gate control.
The was a fleet of longboats waiting for entry into the dock and they were important since the horns weren't long bellows but short burst signifying that they were on important business. It would take them another three days to reach the gates of the village since the spotters had just blown their horns for the first time.
So instead of going to the longhouse he headed to the clinic to teach Sigurd and his apprentices how to synthesize the Reaper cure.
Once he arrived at the Clinic he was greeted by Sigurd and a few of his apprentices.
Sigurd asked," What can we do for you young Erik The Wise."
This was the nickname that Sigurd gave to Erik after seeing him cure the most infamous disease at the tender age of three.
Erik explained that he had come to teach Sigurd and a few of his apprentices how to make the cure for Reaper which wouldn't be hard since the ingredients were extremely simple and the Beast of The Bog was gone.
Erik wasn't terrified of the Beast of the Bog having a mate since they were asexual creatures that only reproduced once in their lifetime. Since he killed the infant before maturity it wasn't able to produce a egg for another one to hatch. This meant that Lake Bog was safe to explore and gather herbs from without being hurt or injured.
So Erik told Sigurd to gather his eldest apprentices since they could teach the rest and no one else would be left out of knowing the cure. Before he started he had them sign a contract that explained that they would keep this a secret from everyone they knew and if were to break this contract instant death would occur.
After they signed their contracts, Erik began his extremely short explanation of how to make the cure for Reaper. First, he told them how to remove the roots and to wash them of any impurities. Then, he told them to dry them completely out and use a mortar and pestle to mash it down into a powder. Finally it was to mix it with four parts honey and one part water, then it was done.
Now, that Erik was finished with the lecture he handed Sigurd the recipe who once again thanked him. In turn Erik responded with no thanks needed this is to strengthen the Phoenix Clan after all.
See Erik had a plan for his opposition since the Geneva Convention didn't exist in this world he could use means of war that was banned back on Earth.
His idea was to modify Reaper into an even more deadly disease and then pack it into gas canisters and while his soldiers are wearing gas masks. They would launch these canisters at people and have them watch their soldiers fall in a instant and all the while this was happening he would request them to submit and he would stop the attack.
Once they surrendered he wouldn't rule them with fear but treat all the people in that nation with the cure and show them that his technology was unmatched and unbeatable. This would then have them wanting his secrets and he could weed out all the corrupt individuals in that nation.
In the grand scheme of things this sounded harsh but he wanted the minimal casualties and injuries to his own troops and to show that joining him is better than opposing him.
{ALERT: THE JARL OF THE PHOENIX CLAN IS HEADING TO PHOENIX ISLES AND WILL ARRIVE IN ONE YEAR AND SIX MONTHS}
Erik knew in his mind he must be ready for whatever was coming his way and decided to boost production on construction equipment side missions would have to wait.
