Theo had leveled up two times and his stats had all increased. He felt much more refreshed than before and now he was above the strength of an average human on earth. Looking down on his system menu, he also noticed a new skill.

Theo was ecstatic! He had finally gained his first-ever skill. He immediately used his skill to see how it worked. On using it, he got a message from the system.

Seeing this, Theo decided to head back to the camp and try his skill on someone before going to sleep. It didn't sound like an attack-type skill so he was sure that it was fine to use on anyone. However, Theo had been hoping for one that dealt damage.

Theo arrived at camp and went inside of his carriage where he saw Leon sleeping on the left and decided to use his skill on him. 'Scan.'

It seemed that the skill couldn't see the skills of Leon. It was most likely because the skill was still quite weak. After checking Leon's stats, Theo quickly fell asleep due to his exhaustion that day.

Theo woke up to horse neighing and chatter among students. Leon had already left the carriage and was sitting outside with his back on the cart. Coming out, Theo saw a tall wall made of large gray-stone bricks that was easily over 50 feet tall.

They were surrounded by a thick forest all around except for anywhere near the wall. Students had gathered in front of the gate and had started to chatter about the upcoming entrance exam.

The Anaviotis Academy is located in the middle of the Jursia Forest, away from all civilization. Even though it is a place that is covered by miles of wilderness, it is a hot tourist location for many to see. The great school that is owned by no known person or organization.

The Jursia forest is the border land between the Great Plains region and the Celestia Highlands region that is located in the sky. If any of the two regions tried to conquer the Jurisa forest, a war would erupt for the land. Taking this opportunity, the Anaviotis Academy was built in the middle of these regions.

It was built many centuries ago and no one knows who built it but it stands as a place where students from the Celestia Highlands and the Great Plains region compete to see who the superior race is, Humans or Elves.

Their academics represent all from both sides, if one race is greater than the other in terms of strength in this school, that is a representation of that entire race over the other race.

After a minute or so of waiting, the gate started to slowly come down and a single man started to walk out of the gate. The man looked to be in his late 20s. He had a bright smile and slick glasses. He was of a smaller stature, reaching about 5'9 in height and wore a robe over his shoulders.

"Hello future students of Anaviotis! I am Yeno Greenhorn of the royal Greenhorn family! I will be the counselor for you first years. That is, if you pass the upcoming entrance exam." Yeno said as he turned around and started to walk back inside of the gate.

Seeing him walk inside, the students followed. "Right about now, a holographic screen should appear above your forearm telling you the room you will be staying in until tomorrow, the day of the entrance exam, and if you pass, it will be the room you stay in for the rest of your time here." Said Yeno.

On saying this, a transparent blue holograph appeared on top of everyone's forearms. It showed different numbers to everyone. Looking at his wrist, Theo saw that his room number was 276. "It looks like we are teammates..." Leon said, looking at Theo's arm. "Yeah, I guess we are!" Said Theo, smiling back.

As they encroached the gate, Theo and Leon noticed that they couldn't see inside at all. There looked to be some sort of barrier that blurred out everything inside.

Yeno stepped inside of the barrier and completely disappeared, only a very blurred image of him could be seen through the other side of the barrier. Seeing this, everyone followed and stepped inside of the barrier and went over to the other side of the gate. The feeling of going through the barrier was quite weird for Theo.

Inside, people could see an entire town. Hotels, taverns and houses were lined across the streets. There were also multiple shops that sold magic related items and other things that could help in battle.

"Woah." Said Theo, as he looked all around himself. "As you can probably see in the distance, a large building. We will be heading over there!" Said Yeno pointing over to a building that looked like a large skyscraper.

Suddenly, multiple bubbles the size of cars started to pop up into existion. Yeno then stopped walking and turned around to face the students. "You will all be riding in these bubbles to reach your rooms. Be sure to get good rest for tomorrow's entrance exams! Know that you will be watched by many important figures that will inspect you and may even want to put you under their wing! Afterall, you are the ones that decide the fate of Humanity against the elves! This is farewell!" Yeno said, as he stepped into a bubble as it popped and disappeared.

After his dramatic exit, students got into the bubbles as they started to float towards a skyscraper like hotel in the distance.

Theo arrived to his room with Leon. Inside was quite amazing. A large room with a bathroom, two beds and some other things here and there. This was quite a site for Theo, but he had gotten a little bit used to his room back at the castle, so this wasn't a crazy surprise.

Theo sat down on his bed and pulled up his system menu once again to fiddle around with it. Looking at his stats, he knew that getting into the academy would be almost impossible for him. After asking Leon, Theo found out a few things.

There were kids arriving from the Elven region of Celestia Highlands that apparently had magic built into them from birth. Humans on the other hand have a 50 percent chance to be born with a mana core that can hold mana that exists within and around the world.

However, those not born with a mana core need not fret. If you cannot follow the path of Conjurer, you can become an Enhancer. Enhancers are just as strong as Conjurers but have less abilities. Becoming an Enhancer is a grueling task that requires many years of training.

While Conjurer's can manipulate magic to their will, Enhancers can absorb that magic into a weapon or their body for close combat. Leon's goal to be be an Enhancer because he was not born with a mana core.

After learning this information, Theo wanted to know if he was born with a mana core.

His mana stat displayed nothing which worried Theo because it didn't even have question marks.

[ If host wants to ask a question, I may be able to answer. ]

The robotic voice sounded again. Theo was surprised but slightly excited by this. It was as if he had an entire encyclopedia of this world in his brain if what the system said was true, and there was no reason for it to lie.

'Do I have a mana core?' Theo asked. After a moment of silence, the system spoke.

[ No mana core detected ]

Theo was quite disappointed that he didn't have a mana core but he knew that Enhancers were apparently just as strong as Conjurers, so there was still hope. He did however want to be a conjurer. The idea of magic was something that really entranced Theo.

Although he may have a chance, Leon also said that to become an Enhancer one must go years of rigorous training. Training wasn't a bad thing for Theo, if anything, he wanted to train badly.

His thirst for strength was everlasting but right now he had no way to train. Theo had been doing the simple daily workout tasks but that wasn't increasing his stats or exp by much at all.

The clock was ticking until the next day and as Theo sat in bed thinking of ways to get stronger, the system spoke again.

[ Time reached. Commencing training program. ]

Right after Theo heard that robotic voice again, the system window converted from a screen to a video. In the video there was a man in an white room. The room looked like it stretched for infinity and had no walls, windows, or doors.

Theo looked at Leon to see if he was also seeing the screen in front of him, thankfully he was not.

The man in the middle of the screen wore a martial arts gi and had short silver hair that spiked up in the air. The man was large in stature and muscle mass and had his large hairy forearms on his belt.

"If you are hearing this, that means... that you have come back. I am not allowed to tell you anything, but know that it is your duty and only yours. Now, we will get on to the lesson." Said the man.
