After Yeno's explanation, the students were asked for a volunteer to go up first and put their hands on the crystal, but just like expected, no one went up to volunteer. Who would? If you got a bad potencial, you couldn't get in the school, and if you got a meh potencial that allowed you to just sliver into passing, you would be regarded as a weakling with low potential.
Theo was definitely not going first. He was still new to many things in this world and he didn't want to stick out like a sore thumb. After a little while of silence, someone raised their hand.
It was Glis Silandra. Seeing her raise her hand, everyone was sure why she was so confident. She most likely already had one of these expensive crystals back at home, and had already figured out her potencial.
Suddenly, another hand shot up in the air. This time it was a boy. He was quite tall and slender and had orangish hair. Theo could hear some talking around him.
"Isn't that William Javier? The royal prince of the Lotus kingdom!?" A kid said.
"Yea, I heard that the Lotus kingdom still has a rivalry with the Tojo kingdom from where Glis Silandra is from. It seems like the rivalry has also carried out into school."
Both William and Glis looked at each other with annoyed expressions. Yeno thankfully quickly cleared up the tension that was rising between the two. "Because lady Silandra raised her hand first, I'm afraid she will be the first one to do the test." Yeno said to Willam, who hmphed and put his hand down.
Glis walked up to the crystal and put her hand on it. The crystal started to shine slightly and after a little bit, it started to show small hints of red. "Amazing! A red mana potencial! A prodigy indeed!" Yeno shouted out.
Glis proudly went back into the crowd. Because of Glis's performance, many people felt even more scared of testing their potential, but some got motivated to give it a go. One by one, each person tested their mana potencial.
Willam got a red mana potencial. Spade, the kid Theo was keeping an eye on got a blue mana potencial. Leon got a blue mana potential as well. Theo finally decided to give it a go after Leon.
He walked up to the crystal and put his hand on it. On doing so, the system window popped up.
Theo was quite shocked. No one had gotten a Vermillion color yet, and so he was quite happy that he was the only one to, but he also didn't know if he should just display it out to the world so easily.
After some thought, Theo chose not to show the Vermillion color. He still didn't want to stick out, at least for now. After choosing what he wanted to show, the crystal started to glow a green color.
It was a pass for a student that looked extremely average. Looking at Arthur, Theo could see that Arthur was smiling big. This was like a dream come true for Arthur. Some kids caught Theo looking at Arthur and started to say things about him.
"Look at that kid haha!" A kid laughed.
"He probably thinks that King Arthur is actually smiling for him hahaha!" Another joined in.
Theo smiled at the thought. 'Haha, little do they know.' After some more tests, everyone was done and the day had almost come to a close. For now, the students that had passed were told to go back to their hotel rooms and take a break because tomorrow they would resume their exams.
Theo wanted to leave immediately to train his Flash Fist. Because they had the mana potencial test today, Theo was almost sure that tomorrow, they were going to have the serious part of the exam that truly decides if you go into the school or not. The duels.
Although he could go around and check out the shops or other things, Theo wanted to currently focus purely on his training. After he arrived outside of the walls, he again began his training. Focusing mana into his fist, he stomped his left foot down and through a right into the air. Again, it fizzled off as it reached its climax. This annoyed Theo a lot. Why was his punch being fizzled into nothing??
After failing for a couple more hours, he decided to head back to his hotel room. A slight bit of nervousness washed over him. If he couldn't perfect this by tomorrow, he was afraid he was going to fail. That couldn't do. This school was going to help him drastically in becoming stronger, a lucky opportunity shouldn't just be wasted.
With the next day, Theo and Leon were one of the first ones to arrive back inside the school gates. This time however, the people introduced yesterday were already seated, as today was going to be the last day of testing.
After everyone arrived, Yeno started to announce the next test. "For the second and final exam, you will be fighting one on one with another student you will be randomly paired with. You have two chances to win a fight. If you win even once, you can join the school, its as simple as that!"
Although it seemed quite simple, it really was not. Joining the school was the easy part, staying was the hard part. Anaviotis held annual entrance exams for the next year, and each time many wouldn't make it.
Two numbers appeared on top of everyone's wrists. The numbers representing you and who your opponent was going to be. After everyone received their numbers, foundations started to rise up from the ground near where the students were. They were stone foundations that seemed to be coming straight from the ground.
Pairs of people were called up to the foundations where they showed their fighting skills. "The first fight! William Javier and Leonidas Hail come to the foundation!" Just like this, Yeno called out multiple other names as they all fought simultaneously.
Theo however was interested in Leon's fight. William was a royal from what he had heard, so because of his money Theo knew that he wasn't going to be an easy challenge for Leon. "Fight!" Yeno said to William and Leon.
Immediately, Leon rushed forward as his main strength came to close combat because he was an Enhancer. William wasn't fazed by this however and created multiple ice spikes that came from his side and flew towards Leon.
Leon quickly dodged the ice spears and continued to head right towards William. William formed an ice spear and tried to keep his distance but he was too slow. Unlike Leon, William wasn't a full fledged close combat fighter. To try and use a weapon against a weapon expert was signing your own death waiver.
Leon quickly pulled out his sword from his sheath on the side of his waist and continued rushing towards William. Leon was now about 5 meters away. Instantly, Leon disappeared from Williams sight.
William now had gotten worried. Not being able to see your opponent is the worst thing that can happen in a fight. William finally looked up to see Leon in the air, charged down with a sword strike.
William quickly formed a shield made of stone that came from his arm and formed an oval shape, protecting most of his body. The stone however started to crack. William quickly released his skill and backed off.
He then started to create another barrage of ice spikes. Suddenly, a sword came out of nowhere from lighting speed and hit William in the shoulder. He was instantly knocked to the ground and he lost the match. He couldn't believe it.
While he had been concentrating on making new ice spikes, he was sure that Leon couldn't do anything because he knew all of Leon's abilities, but he hadn't seen his second sword yet. Leon took advantage of this miscalculation and quickly ended the match.
"Winner, Leonidas Hail!" Yeno yelled out. "What!?" Glis was extremely confused. "That peasant looking boy beat William!? How could William lose to such scum!?" Glis complained.
"Nice one Leon!" Theo said to Leon, smiling. Leon looked surprised, as if no one had ever said that to him before. "Wha- Thanks." Leon said as he out his sword back in his sheath and crossed arms.
"Next up to this foundation! Theo dore and Jerian Cha!" Yeno yelled out. 'Why did he call my name out like that? Did they forget to put my last name?' Theo thought to himself.
