Chereads / God of Zaryn (DROPPED) / Chapter 10 - Shock Fist!

Chapter 10 - Shock Fist!

Theo walked up to the foundation. His opponent was quite menacing looking. He was big and muscley and had a crazy expression on his face as if he was an animal that couldn't wait to be let off his leash. Theo still hadn't perfected his shock fist skill.

"Start!" Yeno yelled.

As soon as the match started, Jerion ran at Theo, he had been unleashed. Jerion was also an enhancer. From his back he pulled out a large axe and came running at Theo. Theo needed to pull off this skill, it was now or never. He needed to concentrate more than he had ever concentrated before to try and up his chances of trying to succeed in pulling the punch off.

Theo had closed his eyes. He could still hear the brute running towards him, thankfully he wasn't very fast. After he heard Jerion's footsteps getting close to him, he opened his eyes, and dodged to the side without thinking.

Jerion axe was in the air when Theo dodged. It swung down and hit the ground. Theo quickly ran to the other side of the foundation and closed his eyes once again. Jerion got angry. He was a brute that didn't think much before doing something, which was a big advantage for Theo.

Again with his large stomps, he ran towards Theo with axe in hand. Theo had started to feel the warm sensation in his fist, but he knew it wasn't going to be enough. Theo started to think. Why didn't his skill work last time? Was there something he missed or something he could do different this time?

As the footsteps got closer and closer, Theo was reminded of a thought. He had replayed the video so many times that he had remembered each word that the silver haired man had said.

He went over the words again and again until he caught something that he had missed. The man had said; "and remember the most important thing! Let the fist do the work!" Yes! This was it! Every time Theo had been releasing his skill, he had been using all of the strength in his arm to drive his punch even more, but thats when it fizzled out. This time, he decided to just let the fist do the work, and not put any of his own strength into driving it forward.

Theo opened his eyes. Jerion was right next to him. He had already swung his axe from the side and it was only a couple feet away from reaching Theo's abdomen. Theo stomped his left foot forward fiercely and threw out his punch.

The attack hit Jerion's stomach sending a shock wave through Jerions body and out into the air. Jerion's axe fell onto the floor and he slumped down on Theo's shoulder. He was completely knocked out due to the trauma of pain. His skill, shock fist, seemed to be a skill that damaged the internal organs and where it initially hit.

Theo stepped back as Jerion fell flat on his stomach. "Winner. Theo Dore!" Yeno shouted out. Weirdly, Theo's system still hadn't give him the reward for defeating his opponent. Checking his window, it still had the quest up and running.

'What? Blood must be drawn' Theo questioned the system. No matter what, he at least wanted the exp. If blood only had to be drawn, he could do something that wasn't too horrible.

Everyone looked on as they saw Theo going back to the unconscious body of Jerion. It was quite confusing as to why but maybe he wanted to see how much damage he had done and apologise like a good sport.

They then saw Theo lift up the head of Jerion and punch him straight in the nose. Jerions nose started to bleed quickly and medics immediately came to his aide, pushing Theo away. Everyone was stunned when they saw an evil looking grin on the face of Theo.

"He's a monster..." One kid said.

"What is wrong with him!?" Another shouted out.

"I didn't expect him to be like this from a first glance."

For Theo, he was happy that he could get some exp from defeating his opponents, he wondered if he could get exp every time he defeated an opponent, that would be convenient.

As Theo jumped off of the foundation and back into the crowd of students. He looked over to Leon who had no reaction. He then looked over to Arthur. Arthur was holding his stomach while laughing.

"Well, what a performance that was! It truly kept you at the edge of your seat, if you had one to sit on that is." Yeno joked. After a long while of waiting, the final students had passed the entrance exams. There were about 169 students left. It was still quite a hefty amount considered the original number.

"Tomorrow will be your first ever day of official schooling! Get ready and have a nice night!" Yeno said before disappearing in his popping bubble once again. He was a funny man. Theo noticed that the people who were sat to the side to watch the students and the kings on the stage had started to leave.

As he looked to the stage, he noticed Arthur starting to walk over to him smiling. Theo started to panic. If everyone found out who Theo was, it was going to be quite dangerous for Theo. Everyone knew that King Arthur had a son that was useless and completely paralyzed, if people found out that he was that son, they would most likely target him as an easy target.

Theo quickly started to run home. Arthur saw this, stopped, and continued to laugh as he went back to the stage. "Arthur." King Elfas Yarlier spoke. Arthur turned around to face Elfas. "Yes?" He said with a serious tone, matching Elfas.

"Where were you going?" Elfas questioned.

"Me? I was going to see my son, but there's no need for that now..." Arthur said before starting to leave the academy.

"What!?" Elfas was slightly shocked and had some more questions, but Arthur had already started to leave. Arthur Evergarden was a force to be reckoned with. In many small wars against the Elven kingdom, he was dominant in almost every fight, known as the Hound of Humanity on the battlefield. If his one and only son were to regain control over his body, the Evergarden blood in his veins would surely make him a big threat.

Just as Theo had thought, "Arthur Evergardens Son" was already a big target. Elfas however was still questioning if Arthur had been lying or not.

Back in his room, Theo checked out the new skill that could be learned in his tab. There were now 2 videos. One was the shock fist video, and the other was the new skill. Theo clicked on the video and again, the silver haired man showed up.

"You learned an attack, congrats. Now it's time for you to get a movement skill." The man said. This excited Theo. He thought back to his battle this afternoon with Jerion. The axe was only about a foot away from his abdomen, if his punch had not landed or worked, he would have been toast. A movement skill would perfectly compliment his shock fist.

"Movement is very important, it allows you to dodge, counter attack, and escape. The skill you will learn today is called "Streak Step." It is a skill that allows one to travel fast in the expense of stamina. To learn this move, you need to be able to concentrate mana to your feet." The man continued to explain how to learn the move.

The summary was; To learn this move, just like you did with your fist, you needed to absorb mana into your feet. This skill however was much more advanced. With the shock fist, you could just release the mana concentrated into your fist at the end, but with streak step, you needed to concentrate and keep your mana in your feet while moving.

The amount of concentration needed was immense, any distraction and all the mana could simply dissolve out of your feet. To train, Theo once again went out of the walls. Once outside, Theo tried to concentrate mana into his feet. Surprisingly, he was actually successful. On trying to move, Theo instantly dashed over 5 meters.

The movement was so instantaneous, that even Theo hadn't comprehended how fast he had moved. He could actually do this skill without much practice. The only problem was stamina. It seemed to consume 50 stamina per use, meaning Theo could only use this twice in dire situations. This enforced his need to level up even more.
