The sun slowly crept up illuminating the whole plain with it's calm light.
The calm ray of light gave colour the the grasses which in turn shimmered in the beauty. Cold breeze blew seemingly carrying the warmth the sun had soon bestowed.
The trees shook, bird chirping in each nest getting ready for another day. The day animals and insects of the forest, grasses and even those in the ground soon came out of their safe haven.
The early sun soon rose higher and the beauty changed. The light grew bright and forceful, noiseless yet it showed without a doubt a new day had began and laying around was lazy.
The skies danced with flying birds and chirping sang louder, the forest no longer quiet was another reminder.
Humans not wasting time got the gist. A few would wake up with the forest and some would rise before the first ray of light.
The majority would rise when the light was bright and sun high.
The once so quiet nature was not long tainted by the noisy humans. From slamming, screaming, humming, talking and so on..
Humans made their mark every morning till night but the world was tolerant of them.
The academy like most places were lively and so was Ashley. It was her first day in the academy while it was still too early to expose her true identity. She was admitted into the school to mingle and relate.
Finding her first class her eyes brightened. ' HISTORY OF DARRIASEL '
The history of Darriasel was large and it was impossible for someone to not learn more and the perspective was always different.
Standing still by the door she pondered how to enter and if she would be accepted.
" Hey excuse me " The voice interrupted her.
Blushing shyly she moved out of the way and watched the girl enter.
Dark hair that reached her waist. Her small eyes looked straight ahead her pouty pale lips pursed. Seemingly uncaring she walked into the class. The girl was pretty but her face seemed cool and strict.
Feeling intimidated by the girl. Ashley admonished herself.
' She could be the faker. ' The thoughts was killed as soon as it rose. As far as she knew the faker must know of her.
A pity the person she thought could recognise her did not meet up to those expectations.
After people who had never met where invisible to each other.
Hurriedly walking, She moved into the class.
" Welcome, how may I help you. " The teacher asked: pushing up her light grey glasses that had fallen on the nose tip. She slowly moved in the black skirt and brown cloak.
" New student " She said excitedly.
The teacher eyes narrowed as it was strange for a new students to join at these term and not cause a big fare about it.
" Oh, state your name and where you come from. "
" I am Ashley Annique and I am from the center of Darriasel, Zentrum. "
Most eyes widened at the name Annique and her location. It was to be known that the center of Darriasel, Zentrum was in peril. Only few to no one wanted to live there and the people there wanted out. It was the first part of civilisation to fall.
" Are you a noble Annique from Zentrum or the other. ". A curious student spoke the mind of all.
Annique's was of two clans, one was a noble clan that resided in the Zentrum ruins they we're known to be heroes and seeing them these far up north would mean the situation was worse.
The other Annique were a merchant family their business neither big nor small. It was simple and the resided far down south. It would be branching out of they had their kid attend somewhere as prejudicous as the academy.
Ashley was torn as she was unsure if the truth would bother her interaction with the students.
" Just Annique. The school is not a place for political battle or a noble play ground. " The teacher chastised them
"Miss Annique please sit. "
The class some resumed a sense of decorum.
Ashley looked to her side and observed her classmate was the girl who she met right outside the door.
She giggled inside as it was a perfect way to be someone's friend. Seating partners become close if not good friends.
Leaving the thoughts of friendship aside she raised her head and liked towards the front of the class.
A silent spell was cast by the teacher and soon they were in a daze as they all seemed to have been moved to a palace.
The teacher spoke " In the years of Carol the king of The east. The regions of Darriasel was peaceful Carol not born in Darriasel seized the throne during a civil war I'm the battle of the throne that lost the lives of may princess and prince. Cousins stabbed cousins. Uncle's killed nieces.
During King Carol's coup he automatically over threw the leading minister who was fueling the unrest.
Winning the crown. King Carol and Queen Pearl as his co ruler made Darriasel into a top heavily fortified kingdom. As Queen Pearl controlled the borders and military.
Peace reigned in Darriasel for a long time, the next ruler was queen Brenda rilling for a long time she was succeeded by her daughter Isabella.
We went through Five more rulers 'kings and queens' each ruling over a decade.
Finally in the era of King James the third. King James was said to lack brains and he was extremely cowardly.
It was said at night King James would come out and move into his secret layer there no one apart from him was to step in. Not even his personal ninjas, no one had ever seen what the room contained till now.
After coming out he would suddenly become smarter, brave and his aura was so strong that the vassals and subjects were no longer able to look into his eyes. According the the records, Minister of Foreign affairs sir Aubrey being the only one to look into the King's eyes carefully.
To quote He said " The King eyes before like clear sunshine with unmatched purity called unsuitable, Now resembling the most evil part in people's heart still unsuitable. Snake or cowardly king, no chance to choose anymore. "
After the advise he packed up with his family and moved south. He quit his job and successfully avoiding disasters.
Soon the laws of the king changed and forbidden book that was once burnt was brought back. It spread to all the dark corners of the kingdom
Evil magic being commonly used and evil mages flooded the kingdom. The academy was one of the few schools that kept to the truth and morals. Banning all books of evil from the academy and removing people who had interest in evil.
The academy was the best school in the kingdom a school for good mages and slowly becoming a haven.
A leader of the evil mages soon rose out from a place no one knows. His powers were always surfing and he devoured a lot mages evil or good.
With the help of our leading headmistress who was a young genius they sort out a boy chosen by fate to repel all evil.
Unfortunately in the last battle the evil died but his minions survived turning to wisps and ghost. The whispered and spoke sometimes incoherent and sometimes clear. "
The children so engrossed in the tale missed the words of the teacher. Her tone grieving as she spoke of his death and the fact that she glossed over the details of his death.
Even if a few noticed it was the academy that survived the dark ages. Protected by ancient light spells evil was to far away.
How the innocent and ignorant days are a bliss.
The teacher continued organising her thoughts.
" The berserk lands and other forbidden part of the lands poisoning young mages with unstable minds.
A new child chosen by fate will destroy all such residual evil and help repair our kingdom. "
" Ma'am " A scrawny looking boy raised his hands; draped in an umber colour robe poking out of the robe was his thin long fingers as he stretched his and forward.
Pointing towards the academy in the illusion he asked " Tales in a history not told, says that the darkness that cursed our lands came from the academy. "
'Gasps ' an uneasy chattering broke out.
A few but not so few of them had heard of these untold tale but they had doubts.
The chattering was never in doubt of the academy as it had become an unshakable temple in their minds.
And the headmistress was the pillar of the temple.
" Does the academy seem like a place that could house evil or that evil could enter" the teacher said; she seemed convinced but the answer was evasive of the question asked.
The answer made the students ashamed for no reason and disgusted by the rumors.
It was expected of a scholar mage to ask such questions so no one felt disgusted.
His hands shivered as he wrote on the book in front of him. His head covered in dark uneven curly hair bobbled as he seemed lost in thought.
Scholar mages were not to take sides so no one could guess what he was writing.
Ashley walked out history class, her head down to her chest as she pondered what she missed.
The history was in coherence with what she knew just something felt off the teachers tone seemed dull and when she spoke of the evil whom died it sounded like something was lost. '.
A small olive coloured eyes followed her around.
June eyes narrowed as she wondered how a new student suddenly midterm this was not something normal.
"You " A loud commotion dragged her attention away from Ashley.
Once again it was the privileged fights. Such battle usually happened about every five days it always seemed plan, a way to put the commoners in their place.
'A bunch of snobbish nobles' She thought. These seemed less worse than the interaction between Aliza and her dumb teammates.
A bright blue eyed girl stood straight with her red hair glistening in the under the sun rays, her mint coloured jumpsuit hugged her body showing off her well defined muscles.
The muscles showed of her prowess as a muscle builder. Her knee length bubblegum coloured robe covered her muscles slightly.
The use of extra colours were sometimes enough to differentiate.
" I have told you to stay away " she spoke in a low haughty tone as she stared at the girl before her.
Dressed in a denim coloured robe she wore a lose brown pants and top under it.
" Relax I would not touch you noble." she dragged each word makeing it sharper as she spoke. The tone showed the disgust that was evident on her face even if she didn't not look directly at her.
A blush of shame bloomed on her face.
She felt an impulse to attack the commoner. ' How dare she make a scene for everyone to watch. '
She appropriately forgot that she caused the incident and made the scene but who made her feel noble people were above the law.
A pity these was the academy and fighting without permission was enough to get expelled.
Secretly in the only truthful part in her heart she knew she could not beat the commoner girl but who would find out.
Ashley frowned, she was disappointed in the actions of the noble. She was even more disappointed with the commoner who did not stand up for herself.
June left the class.
Walking alone in the silver and brown coloured hallways. She wandered off to her next class.
...
The usually tapping rhythm soon filled the office.
" Has she adapted nicely "
Her cold voice seemed coated with warmth and on her face a warm smile.
Edriana spine shivered, she knew that the headmistress was more dangerous like this.
The question that she asked was more like a order she wanted Ashley to be doing fine.
Edriana lips quivered as she really did not want to talk to the headmistress in her condition.
" I suppose she is great ma'am " Edriana replied after a long thought.
" Nothing must go wrong, Edriana do you remember why you do this " The headmistress suddenly asked. Her cold eyes peering into Edriana eyes.
Edriana could forget all but she knew what she was doing this for could never be forgotten.
