In the fog, Aliza wanders around unable to see her feet or hand. Fear gripped her heart as she was wandering through the unknown though the feeling of comfort hid in her heart.
It was human to fear things one did not understand.
'Banng '
Her head banged into what seemed to be a barrier. With her hands stretched out, she began to feel it up.
For if this was the end of the barrier then there had to be an exit.
A loud growl rang through her ears, her skin grew cold and as did her heart she could feel the presence of the animal. Though she had no idea where it was.
Her hands pressed hard on the barrier as she murmured a 'move through' spell. The growl grew louder and felt even closer but so did her spell which was murmured faster.
A green glow covered her hand as she was dragged into the barrier.
Again as time seemed to go on forever she finally fell through the barrier.
Laying flat on the green surface, she brings her arm towards the ground pushing herself onto her knees.
"phew..... " A loud sigh of relief escaped her lips.
' My survival was accidental ' She thought.
She shook her head and dragged her legs up. Standing on her feet she surveyed the land.
Its entirety is covered in green grass and broken homes with leaf patching. The sky was blue and the field was radiant but just like the monster in the fog, the homes made her feel the same chill.
Everything seemed out of place though the place was supposed to look perfect.
Not seeing a way out she walked into the closest building. The door creeks open; splinters fall at the sound of each creak.
The hair on her arm stood as she felt a cold air blow in a circular motion into the room.
The room was clean not a single speck of dust was in place. It seemed to be regularly cleaned, she walked away from the door with gentle steps.
Her mind ran through the countless booby traps that could get her. Alone in the old building with light seeping through the cracks on the walls and roofs.
The same creepy impression of something stronger, her lungs were immediately filled with fear causing her chest to constrict as she found her limbs had been rendered immobile.
"Haaa " The sound of laughter, reverberated in the room.
Her face paled.
Edriana's notion was if she continuously interacted with the headmistress things would get better, she would be braver.
A lesson she learned was to never underestimate a toxic person. The headmistress was the definition of poison, her perfect face frozen in a warm smile on the outside was all people knew about her. A perfect figure of society.
Sadly behind it was a twisted evil and playing with lives was one of her favourite pass times.
Edriana had little to no contact with her so her admiration was sky high but then she was appointed to govern the chosen one who went in hiding.
Reporting to the headmistress gave her huge tension as she was excited to be the one chosen to do such a task if it meant seeing her idol.
Her eyes blurred as she remembered the day she first saw it. The smile behind the face.
' Edriana had finished her first week as a governess and was to report to the headmistress. Her knees trembled with excitement as she hopped towards the office.
'It was not every day, one would meet an idol' she thought.
In her site was a huge door being guarded by two large guards, they seemed like giants in comparison to her but of course that could be because she was smaller than an average height human.
Her arms waved frantically in front of their faces. The eyes of the guard met hers and she instantly froze deep in his eyes was absolutely nothing.
It was dead.
She did not understand 'He worked with the most inspiring person so how could he look so lifeless '
Ushered towards the door she kept her mouth pouted in confusion.
" Hello" The warm voice pierced her soul.
' Soft and sweet ' Edriana thought.
Her heart warmed and a shy smile bloomed on her face.
" How is the chosen. " The headmistress asked.
"Great, her training followsthe perfect routine to a call...." she paused.
" Only I think it might be to lonely for a little girl to be all by herself. "
Edriana had regretted it since that day. If only she had kept her mouth shut.
" I see, You seem to have an opinion."
Her eyes turned cold.
At that time Edriana should have known better.
" I just feel that maybe..." Her voice trailed off as the chill in the air increased.
" I see someone here is in perfect need on informing. " Her iconic evil smile that Edriana could recognised was plastered on her face.
Edriana froze and watched as she was carried out. Her heart was beyond scrambles.
That was her idol.
It had been a while so she did whatever the headmistress wants and that was how she got through.
Finally her work was completed but she sincerely hoped that the chosen one Ashley would remain okay.
A future headmistress was not good.
She packed her bags and went off without feeling nostalgic to the nightmare.
It was another morning and the students had been unable to forget how the new girl had stolen the show.
The rumors had spread all over the campus, good news of course never last as gossips but the envy of the students propelled it.
Dressed in a red gown paired with a loose grey coat. Ashley walked with her head high into healing class. Her small footstep seemed to alert the door as it opened as soon as she got close to it.
She hesitated slightly, it might not be her first class but she was still nervous.
The thought of how to interact with her mates hurriedly spun in her head.
' patience '. she went in with that thought.
The class was silent, at first glance she almost considered it a library but the potions and tubes all around gave it a different feel.
The large space was filled with shelves which where sectioned into three parts. The shelves unlike a library was not just filled with books it also had a variety of potions.
In a section of the room was a man in a black trousers and white shirt perfectly paired up with a brown cloak. It seems the cloak was the uniform for all teachers.
His face had a clean shave but his hair gave a varied look, the auburn coloured hair was covered in grey soot, packed in a ponytail the hair looked like it had not seen a comb in months.
" seat "
Ashley instantly sat on the chair in her sight
" Late " The teacher instantly gave a review. A light pink flush appeared on her cheeks, it was highly embarrassing as she wanted to get a good review.
She silently prayed her momentarily tardiness would not make her look bad.
Her eyes darted around, looking at her classmates were dressed in the exact grey cloak as she was.
A blue haired boy soon caught her gaze. He looked like he woke up in the lab though a little bit better than the teacher. His blue hair was barely presentable.
His eyes snapped up to look at her, catching her staring at him. The interest in his eyes shone. It made her flush as she hurriedly averted his gaze.
" Welcome again to another day off what I love to call Alchemy, thought it is healing class; potions of course could be helpful or at least you need to know herbs that could help.
Like in many classes I had spoken on the benefits on the Mulk berry, it was used easily by consumption. It could heal internal organs to a small extent also for recovery of stamina to help cast spells during emergencies.
Like many know the Mulk berry is refined into a the blue milky potion you see on the first shelve.
The shelve was designed only to hold the Mulk berry potion.
The shelve would be collected every two weeks. " He took a deep breath said
" Every potion is made by the students, our full time alchemy..... No sorry.... Healers assistant. "
' Absolute nonsense ' Sebaston grumbled under his breath.
To him Alchemy was life something he took pride in. Alchemy was another way of life his all existence for more than 100 years had been making breakthroughs in the ways of alchemy.
Now he had to denounce his life work by belittling it. Calling alchemy nothing but healing was the greatest insult and he had to beat with it.
The practice of alchemy was considered treason and thankfully the Academy was able to walk around it but only if it was called healing and the potential was greatly reduced.
Looking at the ten students he had whatever potential his art had was pointless.
Ever since alchemy was called healing.
All Sebaston students were of light magic, the rest concluded the class was not for them.
" Mulk berry is easy to extract, all that was needed was to drain out the potential using a simple extraction spell and a little mix of light magic to remove impurities. "
With a flick of his hand, a wave of Mulk berry plant flew towards the ten students that were seated.
" Now before I forget only extract from the surface of the leaves the rest is useless. "
Ashley listened with all interest but soon determined the class was easy as possible. She had practiced all these before arriving as a student.
A smile graced her face as she thought of the head mistress.
In front of a simple wooden door, June paced around. Each step felt heavier that the next. For some reason, her door was sealed shut and the air that escaped felt heavier by the minute.
She silently hoped Aliza was not in some kind of trouble. She knew Emma and Jake seemed to have an hidden hatred but murder should be completely out of the picture. Considering it was banned in the Academy.
Hopefully their hatred was not that excessive. June would have loved to say that the duo would not be so crazy but the headmistress would probably not make a move against them.
Strangely it was not because they had any special family background but because The headmistress had a dislike for Aliza.
'Aliza's disappearance had gone on for more than a week yet no one was here. ' June sighed.
Her hand nervously rubbed her ring as her slight unrest grew stronger.
Almost silent footsteps filled her ears. Her eyes darted around before landing on Ennesie.
Ennesie was a wind mage, he was famous for everything awful, from stealing personal belongings to secrets and blackmailing.
The worst part was he was never caught well until now.
"Wind stop,Bind "
The two spells were casted instantly.
"Ugh...".
Ennesie grumbled as he struggled to squeeze out of the spell.
" Well, well well if it is not the ellusive Ennesie. The great wind whisperer trapped in my spell " June smirked.
" I see, stalking me out. It is the ones you never suspect. So what if you caught me" He shrugged; deciding to relax in his binds.
" Let me guess, you like me right so you decided to stalk my very ellusive move to find my next target....." He smiled " Lady June you could have said so. "
"Great, I knew the wind must have taken your brain with it " June rolled her eyes ; she did not want to ask why he thought she would like him.
Ennesie tossed his head back moving his hair out of his face. It seemed she was serious about not waiting for him.
If that was the case then it would be easy.
" Fine, you don't like me but here i am. so what do you want. In your trap is the greatest information source, what gossip would you love to know "
He laid out his cards ; it might seem quick but being stuck in the traps was dangerous for his reputation.
" I actually don't need any gossip but since you offered. Who's the new girl and how good can you break into a place." June was impressed by how he was sure she was not part of the student guard.
" Information darling " her calm expression cracked, how guess her thoughts.
" Relax I don't read minds. The new girl is a mystery that has to do with the Headmistress, my powers haven't gotten so big neither had my guts. " He admitted: only a fool would try to sneak information from the headmistress without proper strength.
He did not imagine it to be possible.
" So where should I break into. " He asked.
June was a little confused knowing the girl was related to the Headmistress. She wondered why she was suddenly brought into the academy.
An Annique was to special of a name to not be careful.
In response to where Ennesie asked, she turned and pointed to Aliza's locked door.
Ennesie face paled.
" Are you crazy?, That's Aliza room. "
" I know, that why I want to get inside."
Ennesie looked at June like she had gone crazy.
