"You know what to do Zayier." She gave the man a look and he nodded. It was unlikely but the possibility of it was not zero.
"We will immediately look into it." He understood what the Alpha wanted and without hesitation they will complete it. "The team will thoroughly investigate it."
"I will also inform the other packs of this and ask them if they knew about the vampires." Zael spoke even without the Alpha's command. This was a crucial information and any bits that the packs can give to aid the investigation will be of great help.
"You can also directly talk to the Blood Pack. With regards to vampires, they have the most knowledge on it since they have relations to the king of Vampires." The elder once again interjected. He was looking at them with a serious look. "Aside from the vampire king being our first Alpha's friend, he was also the guardian of Blood Pack. It was the reason why the pack has that kind of name. The details between the relation with that pack and the vampire king had been unclear for a long time now but as far as I know they are the most knowledgeable about vampires. It would be a bit difficult though because that pack doesn't welcome visitors."
"Blood Pack? I've heard of that pack before and I thought that they are a myth because no one knew of their location or who is their current Alpha." Amber spoke from the side. She had encountered that pack before but because they were said to be small and were not sociable so she had no interactions with them whatsoever.
"Yes, it would be difficult to contact them but you need them because they had the most information about vampires. You can ask the other packs if they know a way to contact them." Zael nodded at the elder's suggestion. Since they were already in an agreement between the packs, it would be most efficient to contact them for information.
"We will do that then." Amber also agreed because it was the fastest approach they could do right now. "I will personal contact them so that they could give their full cooperation."
After that, the area around Lurea Woods became forbidden and was constantly watched twenty-four seven. Amber suggested that they sent people to check inside the woods but the elder strongly disagreed because they do not know the dangers inside. Elder Leonides did not budge so Amber relented and only ordered the warriors to keep an eye on the area.
While Ceurian was in a state of worry because of what they had discovered, Xander became busy with the proposal of his next project that he was not able to contact Zael for a few days but this fact was not noticed by Amber because she was also busy contacting the Alpha's regarding the vampire matter.
The night after Xander had an overtime with his team to finish the design, he suddenly received a call. Once he answered the other person was not speaking and thinking that it was only a prank call, he decided to end it and just prepare for bed. The first call was immediately forgotten after a while as he was immersed in his work but after a few days, he had gotten several calls of similar nature. His phone would ring and when he picked it up and answers, the other person would not speak.
"You've been rubbing your head since a while ago, is there a problem?" Carl asked with a frown after noticing that Xander was not focused. He was a bit distracted and it seems that he had not been having a good sleep for the past few days.
"I'm fine. This must have been caused by my irregular sleep these past few days." He sighed and leaned on his chair when his phone rang once again. A frown appeared on his face when he heard the sound. He was reluctant to pick up the phone and was uncomfortable because of the thought that the person harassing him might be the caller again.
Carl got annoyed since Xander was not getting his phone, "Can you please answer your phone, it's been ringing for a while now."
Another sigh left his mouth before he decided to answer it and it was as he thought, it was an unknown number so he just pressed the cancel button and decided to turn off his phone.
"Who was that?" Carl asked when he noticed that he did not even answer the call. "You kept it ringing and, in the end, you won't answer it?"
"Will you stop asking me questions?" his voice slightly rose which startled his friend. Carl was looking at him with wide eyes because this was unusual. Xander would never raise his voice even though he was annoyed, this only means that there was something really wrong.
He stopped what he was doing and faced the man with a serious expression, "What is it? What's happening to you? You have never raised your voice like that, ever."
Xander could see that his friend was totally displeased with his actions but he could not control himself. He had been having sleepless nights because of the never-ending calls thus his mood for the past few days were not that good. He doesn't even have the energy to smile or greet his employees.
"Are you aware that our employees have been talking about you for the past few days? That you were acting weird and that there was this weird energy around you according to them." He pointed at his friend and looked at him from head to toe, "And they are right there is something really weird about you."
Xander groaned and massaged his head. He was aware of it, that they were talking about him. Some also said that he had changed ever since he returned. "I have been receiving weird calls lately. I don't know how they got my number and I tried blocking them several times but they would just use another number to call me."
"Turn on your phone, let's wait for that person to call and I'll answer." Carl gestured for him to turn on his phone and the man reluctantly lifted it. Once it turned on, it immediately rang so Carl took the chance to answer to it. "Who is this? Why are you calling Xander?"
The mysterious person on the other line did not answer and instead cut off the call. Carl looked at Xander with a frown and on the other hand Xander was looking at him with an 'I told you so look'. "I already decided to change numbers."
"That's good after that give that new number to the people whom you trust, clients and other people will only contact you through the company and I'll tell the IT department to monitor all incoming calls that will come through the office." Carl already called the security and the IT department and arranged everything but he will only execute it after Xander would give him the go signal. The man could only stare at his friend because of his decisiveness which he only saw during work. "What are you looking at?"
Xander's face brightened and a smile broke out from his lips, "You really do love me. Now I'm worried about the girl whom you will marry because she might get jealous of our relationship."
A flying book went through the space between them followed by Xander's crisp laugh. "Stop laughing, I'm just concerned about you and that's how you repay me?" He was annoyed because of the teasing. Romance had been a sore topic for him because of his last lover who had left him to pursue her career.
"Alright I'll stop teasing you now and thank you for your concern." Xander felt relaxed after having his friend help him with the problem. He hoped that whoever it was that was calling him will stop after this.
With Xander's permission, the security and IT department started to screen incoming calls and Xander's number had only been given to the people he trusted. One of the people who received his new number was Zael and even though the beta had asked him multiple times, Xander did not tell him the reason why he changed his number. He also instructed the beta to keep his mouth shut regarding this matter because he did not want to disturb or worry Amber. Zael reluctantly agreed since they were in a critical stage of the investigation and he needed the Alpha to be focused.
"Make sure that you take care of yourself and be careful always," was his last words to the man during their last conversation. Xander assured the man that he would be careful.
Although the matter of the strange calls had been resolved for now, Xander did not expect that the person would now send things to his house and to the firm. They were gifts, weird gifts that had made him uncomfortable. There was one time that a box was sent to their house and it contained a preserved body of a cat placed in a glass which terrified Xerra after she saw it. Xander immediately called the security of the subdivision to not receive any parcels without a sender name written on it and only receive the ones who were from official couriers.
With this incident, Carl and Xander also tightened the security around the ENIGMA compound to avoid what had happened to his home. "Let's go to the police and report this. If we can't catch the person behind all of this mess, they won't stop." Carl was inside Xander's office while watching his friend's tired face.
"Involving the police, isn't that too much?" he asked with concern, involving the police means that what had happened might go public and it may affect their company and their current projects. "If we involve them and this gets out of the public ENIGMA might get affected."
"You don't have to worry. We will request a silent investigation. Nothing will go public and no one will know aside from the two of us and the investigators."
