Chapter 56 - A deal

Alpha Gidou came to Ceurian after only two days and they were sitting inside the Alpha's office while drinking coffee. "Thank you for your help, Alpha Amber. We really appreciate it."

"There's no need to be so polite between us." Amber shook her head as she could not really accept the other Alpha's sincere gratitude since she had been doing this for so many years now and there were benefits for her pack as well. Alliance and trust were very important for a pack.

"To show my appreciation, I would like to give you an information. I heard that you are looking for a way to contact the Blood Pack and I happen to know how." Alpha Gidou smiled at Amber's reaction. "Yulian happens to have a connection with the Blood Pack although it had been a long time but we still have a way to contact them."

"I did not expect that." Amber was actually startled but she regained her composure afterwards. They were only able to gather a handful of information about the pack but found no way to contact them or to know where they were located.

"We were never vocal about it because of Blood Pack's history that is why I would like to ask you Alpha to not tell anyone that I have told you this information." Alpha Gidou became serious at that moment. The Blood Pack was notorious because of its vampiric background thus any pack associated with it was ostracized and looked down. He did not want that to happen to his pack. "I don't want my pack to be associated with vampires."

"I give you, my word." She could somewhat understand so she readily agreed to the request. "The source of this information will only be between us."

"Thank you. But I need to remind you Alpha Amber, that it is not up to me if they will want to meet you or not. All I can do is to help you contact them and the rest will be up to you." The reminder was received and without further discussion Alpha Gidou contacted the Blood Pack. Amber on the other hand sat quietly while waiting for the answer.

"It's been a long time since you last contacted. I thought you already forgot about us." A deep baritone voiced answered the call from the other line. There was a coldness in his voice that made Amber a little bit uncomfortable but she remained still.

"Yes, because I need to ask you for a favor." Alpha Gidou calmly answered and hinted nothing of the situation. He did not want to alert the other of Alpha Amber's presence immediately.

"Ah, a favor. I like that and at the same time hate that word because it gives me both the pleasure and the chills. If you want a favor, just like before you should give me something of the same value." The man on the other side had a wide grin on his face while leaning on his chair. Alpha Gidou suddenly called without notice so he already knew that something was up with that guy.

"I only need a location, Blood Pack's location." The alpha did not beat around the bush and told the man his request. It was risky but still worth the shot.

Amber and Gidou heard a loud laugh as an answer to the latter's request. It continued for a minute before it abruptly stopped followed by a cold voice that lost all of its teasing tone. "That's too bold of you, you dare ask me of my pack's location. You know that Blood Pack's location cannot be disclosed or I will die. Nothing in your possession could ever amount to the information you want, unless the person beside you has something that I would be interested in." Gidou frowned then gritted his teeth at the man's words. It seems that there was no use in hiding the fact that he was with the Alpha of Ceurian.

"Did you already know?" he sighed. Gidou knew that the man was meticulous at everything he was doing but he did not know that he was this thorough.

"Even though my pack is not in the light and is currently unknown to your world, we do have plenty of information sources and big moves as rogue attacks or the Alphas of packs meeting with each other or even the discovery of vampires, we will not be out of the loop. For a pack such as ours who constantly hides, information is the most powerful defense we have." Amber raised a brow at how the man was confident and comfortable to talk about these things to an outsider. "Besides even if I tell you all of these, it will not have an effect to our pack."

Alpha Gidou could nor refute the man's words so he looked at Alpha Amber. She gave the other a nod and gestured for him to hand over the phone. "Alright, I'll let you and Alpha de Lune talk then since you already knew about it." Alpha Gidou stood up and walked to where the other Alpha was then gave her the phone he was holding.

The Alpha gave Gidou a nod before she spoke, "Then I'll get straight to the point, the location of Blood Pack and in exchange I will give you whatever you want." Amber did not hesitate to answer the mysterious man. She could give anything if it means that she can help protect the packs from those rogue and whoever was behind them.

This statement made the man laugh once again. "Don't make promises Alpha de Lune because you might not be able to deliver your end of the bargain and what I hate the most are people who only know how to talk but lacks action." The man could not help but grin because the Alpha seemed desperate to know about their location but he cannot give it to them that easily. "Although I cannot give you my pack's location, I can give you something of the same weight. I'll give you the chance to talk to my Alpha and ask him whatever you want but of course not all of your questions will be answered so choose your questions wisely and you will only have an hour to talk to him."

Amber crossed her arms and closed her eyes. The deal was good enough, although they won't be able to know the location of Blood Pack, she can still talk with the Alpha, that was good enough but if her questions were not answered then that makes this bargain risky and she was not even sure of what the other would ask her in return. "How can I be sure that the person I'm about to talk to is the Alpha of Blood Pack?"

"Hmm, you have a point but have you ever seen the face of the current Alpha of our pack?" he instead returned a question which stumped both Gidou and Amber because none of them had seen the Alpha. Heck this was the first time that Amber would have to deal with Blood Pack so how should she know. She was also sure that none of the other packs knew the Alpha of Blood Pack and not even their elders, so she doesn't have an idea what he looks like.

"Then can I get your word that whoever talks to me would be your Alpha?" There was no other choice she would just rely on Eirian when they talk with the Alpha.

"Of course. I give you, my word. As for the compensation…" he did not continue the sentence and let it hang there. He patiently waited for Amber to answer.

"No need to worry about the compensation. You can just tell me now and I'll give it to you immediately." There was no assurance that she would get the information she needed and she was not sure if it is worth the risk but she was willing to go through it, as the Alpha of a pack, she needed to take the opportunity even though there's only a small chance of it to help them.

"Are you sure? I did not even tell you what you should give us or what you should do for us and yet you are agreeing already," the man grinned as he could not hide his excitement. If Alpha de Lune knew how to grab chances, then he was good at it too. In fact, he was better at it because right now the Alpha was desperate for information.

"Time is of essence for us. I don't have time to play with you and join you in your games. What I need is information and if you can't give it to me then this deal will be off." Amber was not pleased with this man. His tone from the very beginning had not shown any respect towards the both of them which only showed that the man on the other line did not recognize their positions as alphas.

"Ah, that temper," the man chuckled and shook his head even though the people he was talking to could not see it. "It's a deal then but right now I won't say the compensation. I will personally contact you soon for it so when that time comes, I hope that you can do your end of the bargain or else hell will break loose."

"Don't be too arrogant." Amber's voice could chill anyone but the other man seemed to be not affected by it at all.

"Alright, wait for my call tomorrow. You don't have to worry because I will call you back immediately once I get approval from the Alpha. I will not pass this opportunity to let the Alpha of Ceurian owe me." The man did not even wait for Amber's answer before he cut off the phone.

"Is that man really reliable?" she looked at the other Alpha with raised brows and a frown. "He seemed like a scammer to me."

A hearty laugh filled the room at those statements, "Although he is like that, that man is reliable. He will surely call you tomorrow so you need to be patient. He is a member of the Blood Pack so it is unlikely for him to lie to you."

She could only nod. This was a lead they had been waiting for. "By the way what kind of compensation does he usually ask?" She became curios since she had no idea what the man might ask in the future.

"In my case, we gave them money and resources or just plain exchange of information but not ordinary information because they almost knew everything. I don't have any idea what he might ask of you so be ready and to remind you, he is actually a bit crazy. Always be careful Alpha de Lune, although I am the one who referred him to you, he is still a dangerous a man."
