After the call was done, the room was filled with silence. Nobody knew how to deal with the information they got from the Alpha of Blood Pack and how they should explain it to the other alphas. It was difficult to believe and difficult to handle at the same time.
"If the Blood Pack doesn't know of the vampires hiding within our territory, then how can we find them? How can we ascertain that they were involved in this matter?" Zael asked in frustration. They were at it for more than an hour now but they can't figure out what they should do.
"I'd better go and ask Mykel, with his status in the human world, he might know a thing or two about those creatures. I'm sure that there will be stories in the human world about vampires." Amber did not have any other choice, as much as she wanted, she did not want to involve Mykel with the matters of the pack but she can't ignore the fact that he might be able to help them and that if those vampires would succeed in getting the Vampire King's Vitality, then the human world will not be spared as well. "Zael I'll leave the matters of Ceurian to you. I'll let Elder Leonides come with me to meet Mykel since he has the most knowledge about these bizarre stories among us. Zayier, alert the warriors to guard that place tightly no one shall be able to approach it." The commands were received and was carried out immediately. Zael immediately notified the elder and requested for him to meet the alpha in her office.
Alpha Gidou also bid his goodbye together with the children and the caretakers since his role was done. Amber watched with cold eyes as the entourage left Ceurian while her wolf was making a racket in her mind.
'Thank goodness they already left that way when our mate returns that woman would not have the chance to get close to him again. We can be sure now that he will remain ours.' She was genuinely happy that the woman she hated already left and that there would be no other chance for her to meet their mate. She was really pleased and proud of herself.
"Yes, you are right," though she might not show it, Amber agreed with her wolf. Xander was their mate and no one was allowed to get near him.
'Are we going to visit him after we meet with that guy?' she asked after she remembered that they were going to the city. 'It would be good if we can see him when we go there.'
"Don't worry, since I already planned to visit him. It would be a surprise though." Amber had a smile on her face which rarely happened ever since Xander left. She had been swamped with work that it was the best time to go and relax for a bit after she had her talk with Mykel.
'I'm excited to see his reaction once he sees us!' Eirian exclaimed in excitement. The thought of seeing Xander once again made her unable to stop pacing.
As the date of Amber's visit to Mykel was decided, Xander on the other hand was still busy with the art gallery and the mountain resort that was nearing its completion. He had no idea that the woman he liked will be coming to visit him.
"The plan is almost final we will have our final meeting with Mr. Crellac and if there is no further revision to the design will be made, we will proceed with the construction so let Mr. Valentyne prepare the necessary materials and manpower we will need." Xander informed his secretary while he was fixing the stacks of documents and design concepts for the art gallery. He was early that day just to review the design and the floor plan of the gallery before the final presentation for Mr. Crellac.
"By the way sir, I received a call from someone named Thalia Javier. She told me that she will be visiting you on Wednesday." Lillian relayed the information after she took note of her boss's words.
Xander's hands stopped from moving then he took a look at his secretary, "When did this call came?" he placed the documents on the table and stood up from his seat.
"Just this lunch sir. I was not able to inform you because you were busy and did not want to be disturbed." She explained after seeing the serious look on Xander's face.
"That's fine," he sighed. "When she comes, just let her in and don't let her make a fuss. I want to keep this place peaceful while she is here and let's just hope that after her visit she will not come again." After those words, Lillian left her boss to prepare to face this woman who could make her boss sigh like that. She sat in front of her computer and tried to search for any information regarding Thalia Javier. After reading numerous articles about this woman, she had a clue as to why Xander was not that happy to hear her name.
She was a famous fashion designer and was the daughter of a well-known politician. From her perspective, a person who grew up with a silver spoon on her mouth would definitely be a spoilt brat and based on his boss's reaction, it must be true. It was rare to find a person who grew up rich to be humble. She was glad that her boss's friend was not a spoilt young master despite his status as the only heir to the Villegas Group of Companies.
"It seems that I need to alert the security about this woman just in case," she mumbled to herself before she stood up and went to the security department.
Xander was oblivious to all of this when his phone rang that brought him back from his deep thoughts. "Hello," he sighed.
"I heard that Thalia is back." It was Carl who called him immediately after the news of that woman reached him.
"Yes, she already called my office earlier." He sighed for the nth time as he looked beyond his window.
"I give you my deepest sympathy. To face that woman again, what a sad life you have. She would surely cling to you again since I heard that she will be staying in Cartnan for a period of time so you should prepare yourself." His friend held in his laughter as if he could imagine what would happen to Xander once he faced Thalia.
"Please don't jinx me besides I can always use my work to avoid her and it's not like she came to Cartnan to play. I'm sure that she would be doing some kind of work in here so she won't be bothering me every day." Xander fiddled with the leaf of the flowers placed on the vase since he could not stop the anxiousness from rising up. He was already bothered with the stalking that was happening to him and now another problem came. All of these were not good for his health.
"I'll help you as much as I can." This was Carl's only way of comforting his friend since he had no influence whatsoever to that woman.
Wednesday came in the blink of an eye, the dreaded day that Xander waited. He was even on the verge of making an excuse just to not go to work but he was meeting with Mr. Crellac so he can't really do that.
"Will you be coming home early this afternoon?" Xerra asked while they were having a breakfast. Their school had started so she was busy attending her classes and waited for her brother in the afternoon. For the past few days, he was not able to fetch her from school because he was busy so she was wondering if this time her brother could come.
"I'm not sure but if our meeting with our client ends early then I'll be able to come and get you after your class." Xander gave his sister a warm smile then he ruffled her hair like the old times.
"Alright, see you this afternoon then brother!" she answered with a grin. Xander watched her sister eat her food with gusto and was glad that he had this kind of peace time before he would face an inevitable battle.
After dropping off Xerra, Xander prepared himself and since his secretary has not yet called him the hope that maybe Thalia was not yet at the office bloomed inside of him. He would take this chance to busy himself and make an excuse as to why he cannot meet the woman besides Carl will be with him.
Luckily, Thalia was not in ENIGMA so Xander was able to focus on the meeting with Mr. Crellac. The client was happy with the final design and structure of the art gallery thus the meeting was done earlier than expected.
"I would like to invite you and your team for a lunch. It's my way of expressing my gratitude to your efforts on coming up with that excellent design." Mr. Crellac offered after they left the conference room.
"Thank you. Lillian, please inform the planning department to follow us downstairs." Xander did not turn down the invitation since it was also a chance for him to introduce his team to the client. Lillian nodded then she left for the planning department's floor while the three of them went down ahead.
The lunch was comfortable and everyone enjoyed the food. Mr. Crellac was also happy to get to know the people behind the design of his art gallery. There were exchange of endless praise and even ideas regarding the gallery. Everyone was excited to see the art gallery as a structural reality since it was one of their biggest projects. The atmosphere around them were relaxed and harmonious that Xander was happy to see that they were enjoying themselves.
After the lunch, Xander suddenly found himself in a predicament. As he entered the company's lobby a woman was already walking towards him. He could not help but groan silently and gritted his teeth as all eyes were on that woman who was obviously wearing high end clothes and because she really stood out in a place where everyone were simply employees.
"Xander!" she exclaimed in her shrilly voice that Xander did not like ever since.
"Thalia," he nodded to acknowledge the woman. "You should have informed me that you were coming during this time." His voice went down a few degrees while talking to the woman who was smiling widely at him.
"That's because I want to give you a surprise and so that you can't avoid me." She moved forward and shamelessly hooked her hand on his arms as she clung to him.
"Ahem," Carl stepped forward and held the woman's arms. "Ms. Javier, we are currently inside Xander's company during working hours so I will request for you to let go of him and don't cause a scene in here by clinging to him like that." He tried to pull the woman away but Thalia did not budge.
"Who cares, it's good that people will see because sooner or later, Xander will become my husband so there's nothing wrong with me clinging to him like this." Thalia instead glared at Carl and intentionally made her voice loud. Xander's face turned black at that bold declaration and was about to reprimand the woman when an authoritative voice that brought chilliness spoke from behind them.
"Husband? I am the only person who can call him by that title and not a pretentious woman like you."
