Chapter 13 - Your eyes

Talking about purpose…

He always envied them, they all had purpose and likes, people they wanted to be and people they wanted to be with, Nolan wanted the pop culture life and Kaliali wanted to find a dent in the effort of our Ancestors to find an error in scrapping the existence of Vampires of every book and leaving everything as a myth, in the dust for people to choke on and get busy with but still not useful enough to build a solid story off it.

He needed a purpose, but everyone told him he was already born with one, to be the clan leader and continue the deadly and destructive legion of Horus. It made sense to everyone that his future was already in the books before his cries pierced the world's ears, Or didn't Vampires cry...Whichever way, he was envious. He was envious of his friends for finding a purpose within themselves without following the books or his parents desires. Not until they finally went out to the human world when they were fifteen and heard the drums, that was where he found his escape and little of his meaning, that everything had its importance, uniqueness and passive beauty. That no matter the sound, if striked in the right pattern and stringed in the right way, it will produce a fine sound, no matter the shabbiness. That's why he called himself a violin, with hopes that if he worked on himself, he could create something beautiful.

Putting on a black fitting jeans and a grey shawl which had a scarf hoodie attached to it and grey boots, the look that screamed 'notice me but don't fucking talk to me'. Heading out of his penthouse with his destination ten minutes away, he headed to the elevator and tapped the ground floor but he wasn't always a lucky one as delicate female hands stopped the elevator from closing.

"OMG, Hi Haram!" Lily excitedly hugged him and kissed him on both sides of his cheeks.

"It's Hakeem," Hakeem said, giving her a boring look as he pushed her gently into an arm's length distance, making the smile on her face fade a little.

"Haram means sin in Arabic just so you know but no offense taken here," Hakeem said, in a monotonous voice looking at her from the side of his eyes. She looked a little sad, maybe he was being a little more cold than usual, so to make up for his attitude, he decided to stretch the conversation a tad bit further.

"So Lily, how was your night?" Hakeem asked, giving her a tight lipped smile, he could see a smile spreading on her face and she was getting a little red tint on her cheeks.

"It was good, I mean it gets a bit boring in that big apartment but a good ice craam bowl and some netflix can be a good distraction at times," Lily smiled at him saying, she looked as him he was expecting him to saying something in return or comment on what she just said but all he did was hummed back in return and looked right in front of him.

"Uhm...so what about yours?" Lily decided to ask since it felt like he just ended the conversation there, she thought it would be rude if he asked for hers and she didn't ask of he's.

"My what??" Hakeem asked.

"Your night, silly," Lily replied, finding it cute how he zones in and out when they are having conversations.

"Oh, it was good I guess" Hakeem replied in a bored tone, if she didn't catch onto his cold demeanor now, he might have to be out right cold with her. Lucky, the elevator opened and he rushed out of it quickly and headed into the lobby.

"Can I have your…" Lily was about to ask for his number but he seemed to be in a rush as he left immediately the elevator opened.

"Shit…" She cursed to herself as she made a mental note to have his number when they crossed paths again.

Breathing fresh air that didn't have a strong floral scent to it was a relief for Hakeem as he decided to call his driver to bring the car upfront which was a ford Jeep he planned on renting because he thought he won't be here for long but now that he seemed to be staying here for longer than he has planned, he decided to take it off the market. It took a few minutes for the tinted black Ford to come meet him at the front of the building.

Entering the cold quiet environment gave him peace, the peace that let him let his mind run with a cool indie song playing in the background, it gave him time to go over his day. He also liked how he and his driver rarely ever spoke, or though his driver knew he was a vampire because Paul was a vampire too, he decided to hire him because he was one of those vampires that live humbly in the midst of humans than stay under the cold rain of any stereotypical vampire reign, they were more like humans and even had better tans and were nice, they didn't feed on humans and usually had safe blood supplies and were used to human food too, they were called Sellers because they sold into the weaker safer human side even though there was nothing wrong with being logical, Even still, Paul was still honored to drive a royal blood.

A French song came on the speaker that caught his attention. He understood French from the years of being homeschooled and thought of different ancient and foreign languages.

"What song is this?" Hakeem asked Paul, who looked a little surprised that Hakeem spoke to him and asked a question.

"Uhm it's Yseult - corps(body) ," Paul said, clearing his voice.

He hommed in response and continued to to listen to it, it really got to him and he made a mental note of checking the song out on spotify, maybe even singing a cover of the song one of these days. He was already late but he was not capable of giving a fuck at the moment. They arrived at the house which happens to be a huge house with 3 stories and a huge glass reveals on the side of the house.

It was in the less busy part of town and houses like it were very much common around too. He got down from the car without saying another word to Paul, and the car zoomed off.

He went down the path with very green beautiful trimmed grasses with concrete interlocking in patterns of Hallows.

"Cliché…" He thought to himself as he continued to head for the door which was a deep brown door, he pressed the doorbell beside it and waited for a response. It was kind of very quiet like no one was around. But soon the door opened exposing the insanely handsome man from the previous day wearing short and a white see through T-shirt, loud music also poured through the door as he opened it, his Amber eyes were lost in his as they both stood there staring at each other.

"Your eyes…"
