Chereads / I am trash! [BL] / Chapter 19 - You're a glitch...?

Chapter 19 - You're a glitch...?

He saw the man's body flickering like magic and for some reason, Wang GuiYing didn't look to be that shocked.

'You seem to be a glitch in the system' He thought in his head as he looked at the flickering man, 'At the end of the day, a glitch would always be fixed...'

Although Xin had wanted to keep this a secret from Wang GuiYing, it looked like Wang GuiYing had already guessed the situation by himself.

Just from seeing the flickering body of the man, Wang GuiYing was sure about what was going to happen to the man. This man had already spent the last two years in this world. That in itself was shocking enough. It was impossible for him to stay any longer. Sooner or later, he would die.

If he was not pulled out of this game before then, that was the only ending waiting for him.

Wang GuiYing softly sighed as he closed his eyes once again.

He needed to get this man to Li Ling. He needed to help him get out before it was too late.

Finding Zhou Xinyi was important but he wasn't heartless enough to sacrifice an innocent life for it.

In just a few minutes, he had made up his mind to help this man and with that thought in mind, he fell asleep once again.

The next morning, by the time Wang GuiYing woke up, Xin had already prepared breakfast for the two of them. The fragrance was delicious enough to make Wang GuiYing's mouth water and with drowsiness still covering his eyes, he sat up straight and started eating the delicious soup that Xin had cooked.

Just a sip of the delicious soup was enough to fully wake the man up.

He hurried to gulp all of the soup down before he spoke, "That was delicious~"

Xin smiled as he heard this compliment.

"But where did you get such juicy flavored mushrooms?" Wang GuiYing asked as he looked at the man with great interest.

Xin cleared his throat as he spoke, "While you were sleeping, a turtle beast came to greet us. There were mushrooms growing on its back so I borrowed some."

"..." Wang GuiYing blinked, not knowing how he was supposed to react to that information.

The turtle beast probably didn't come just to 'greet' them and there was no way Xin just 'borrowed' some mushrooms from it...!

"I have good news for you," Xin spoke as he stood up with a sigh, "I know where to go if you want to find Zhou Xinyi."

Wang GuiYing's muscles tensed up as he heard this and he gulped nervously.

Xin thought he would see the man jumping around with happiness as he heard this but the reaction he got was much different from what he had expected. To be more exact, it was the opposite of what he had expected.

Not only did the man not jump around with excitement, but instead he looked to be saddened by the news.

Xin's eyebrows lightly furrowed together in confusion and a small frown formed on his lips as he looked at the man.

"About that..." Wang GuiYing muttered as he looked down at the ground, "I think it would be better if we went looking for Li Ling first."

"..." Xin's eyes lightly widened but he said nothing.

"Li Ling is the gamemaster of this game. He can help get you out of here."

In the first place itself, Xin was trying to trick Wang GuiYing into heading out towards the mountains where Li Ling was currently staying. Hearing Wang GuiYing suggesting something so random both shocked him and made him feel guilty.

"Alright," Xin gulped as he nodded his head and agreed to it a bit too easily.

Wang GuiYing thought that the man wouldn't agree at first and so he had prepared a whole plan on how he would convince the man but now, it seemed that his worries were useless.

"You aren't gonna ask anything?" Wang GuiYing questioned with surprise and with his eyes wide open, he innocently stared at the man.

Xin shook his head as he spoke, "I won't question you."

Wang GuiYing didn't know if he was supposed to be glad about this or not.

"But if I manage to get out, promise me that we would meet again in the real world," Xin spoke with a smile as he looked back at Wang GuiYing.

Wang GuiYing also smiled as he heard this and gave a nod, agreeing to make a promise with the man.

"And if I don't make it out, let's continue looking for Zhou Xinyi together," Xin added.

This time, Wang GuiYing slightly hesitated before he scolded, "Don't curse yourself like that! You're gonna safely get out of this game no matter what. I'm gonna make sure of that."

'Cause if you don't get out on time, you might die...' Wang GuiYing added in his mind but didn't dare voice it out.

Xin chuckled as he closed his eyes and shook his head, "For some reason, I feel as if I'm being treated special."

Wang GuiYing snorted in amusement as he thought in his mind, 'Of course, you are! I'm only doing this because it's you. Do you think I treat people nicely?!'

"It's all because of that damned face," Wang GuiYing commented with a disappointed sigh.

"..." Xin didn't know if he was supposed to laugh or not.

"Do I still remind you of Zhou Xinyi?" Xin asked as he looked at the man.

"No matter what you do, it's impossible not to see Zhou Xinyi in you."

Xin's lips slightly curled up in a small smile as he heard this and he couldn't help but ask, "I should've asked this yesterday but, what are you gonna do if I really turn out to be the Zhou Xinyi that you're looking for?"

Wang GuiYing was silent as he heard this question and for a minute or so, he silently looked at Xin's face, almost looking as if he was deeply thinking about the answer.

Xin was patient as he stayed quiet and waited for a reply.

"I don't know..." Wang GuiYing sighed out as he shrugged his shoulders, "I might die from the embarrassment of not being able to recognize my precious best friend whose bond with me is closer than that of brothers."

"..." Xin was a bit disappointed by that former answer but at the same time, he was rather amused to hear the latter half of the answer.

"But I feel like it would be a funny situation," Wang GuiYing chuckled as he added, imagining the scenario, "It would be an unexpected surprise. Something we could discuss and laugh about in the future."

Xin nodded his head, he felt the same.

"But if you really turned out to be Zhou Xinyi, there would be something that I would do before anything else."

Xin's ears perked up as he heard this and he looked over at Wang GuiYing expectantly.

"I would wanna ask you a question."

"What is it?"

"Do you wanna be punched or kicked?"

"..." Xin blinked a few times, wondering if the man was being serious or not.

Wang GuiYing beamed happily as he continued, "It would be unfair to not punish him when he decided to just disappear on me like that."

Xin couldn't help but chuckle as he heard this and he spoke, "I'm sure he had his own circumstances."

"And I'm sure, I'm more important than those circumstances."

Xin could not defend against that so he quietly nodded his head, agreeing.

"When I go back, are you gonna look for him alone?" Xin asked.

Wang GuiYing pursed his lips into a small smile and nodded his head with a sigh as he spoke, "Well, there's nothing we can do about that. I can't ask you to stay so I guess I'll have to look for a new lackey. If I'm still unable to find him even after a week, you can choose to come back and help."

The game was set in a way that prevented the players from consequently transmigrating into the game. If a player were to leave the game, they would need to wait for at least a week before entering once again.

"If you can't find him even after a week, I'll come back. Till then, All the best," Xin spoke with a warm smile, genuinely hoping that the man would be able to succeed.

They didn't bother discussing anything more nor did they make any further plans. After having their breakfast, they headed out towards the mountains.

Wang GuiYing was also vaguely aware of the fact that Li Ling would be heading towards the mountains so he didn't say anything and simply followed after Xin. He didn't even bother asking how Xin knew about Li Ling's location.

This was because he was currently too preoccupied with his thoughts and didn't really have the time to be suspicious about such trivial details.

They walked for half a day and only stopped when they felt extremely exhausted. They drank some water and once again roasted some meat for lunch. While waiting for the meat to be cooked, they leisurely talked and laughed together.
