Chapter 24 - I'm not in the mood to fight but...

The snail serpent spun around and tried to capture Wang GuiYing, trapping him in between its sticky body, but Wang GuiYing only jumped up and avoided it skillfully.

Although he was a rather new player in this game, he wasn't a bad player and this much was nothing to him.

If he wanted to, he could end this fight in a matter of minutes. Just as Xin had said, this snail serpent was really too weak and Wang GuiYing would be able to beat it without any questions asked.

However, Wang GuiYing wasn't in the mood to fight. He found the snail serpent annoying and didn't want to be bothered by it.

To put it simply: He was being too lazy and felt that this was troublesome to do.

He had no problem with Xin taking all the magical stones since he didn't find any use for them yet.

However, since Xin refused to step in and the snail serpent refused to retreat, Wang GuiYing couldn't help but fight it.

Wang GuiYing took out a small dagger and sighed as he jumped up onto the snail serpent's shell.

For some reason, this action felt quite confusing to the creature and it immediately curled up and hid inside its shell, not knowing what Wang GuiYing was planning to do.

The snail serpent's shell was famous for being indestructible. If you hit it with an arrow, the arrow would break and if you stabbed it with a sword, the sword would shatter.

Wang GuiYing only held a dagger and hence, if anyone were to see this scene, they would certainly feel pity for the man.

In the very next moment, Wang GuiYing leisurely sat on top of the shell with his legs crossed. He looked to be relaxed but the serpent still refused to come out of its shell, feeling that the man had something dangerous in mind.

Xin looked to be quite amused as he saw this and couldn't help but let out a small chuckle.

He clearly knew what Wang GuiYing was doing and he felt a bit of pity for the snail serpent who had been fooled by the man.

"Oye! Xinnie, do you know how to cook snake meat?" Wang GuiYing asked, shouting at the top of his lung.

"I've never tried it," Xin spoke as he thought about it, "But if we boil it, we can make it work."

Wang GuiYing smiled happily as he heard this and he patted the creature's head, "So our lunch is decided!~"

The innocent snail serpent curled in even deeper into its shell.

Wang GuiYing was a healer but he was fully aware of his capabilities as a healer and hence, he knew exactly what to do in order to instantly beat this beast.

If the shell was indestructible, Wang GuiYing needed to weaken it.

Without the shell, the snail serpent would be rendered vulnerable since its skin was soft.

If some new player were to face this snail serpent, they would aim for the serpent's skin, thinking that it was the weakness of the creature. However, Wang GuiYing thought differently.

The skin was obviously weak and since it was so evident, it wasn't the weakness of the creature.

What you see is not always what you must look for. Sometimes, you have to ignore what you see and search for what is hidden from your eyes.

As a healer, Wang GuiYing could use a special technique called the 'time reversal'. Originally, it is a technique that reverses injuries. However, it can also be used as an attacking technique.

Wang GuiYing used 'time reversal' and touched the snail serpent's shell.

The shell immediately started shrinking and in a matter of seconds, it started to weaken.

The time reversal changed the snail serpent's shell and made it go back to how it was when the creature was newly born.

The snail serpent's shell was not indestructible from the very beginning itself. It had been hardened to such a state after years of battle experience and hence, when the time reversal technique touched the shell of the creature, the shell turned soft just as it was when the creature was still a newborn baby.

Wang GuiYing smiled happily as he raised the dagger in his hand and got ready to cut through the shell.

The snail serpent had probably realized what was happening and it clearly knew that staying inside its shell was no longer going to work.

In the very next moment, Wang GuiYing's hand struck down and the blade of the dagger penetrated through the shell with utmost ease. Almost making it look as if he was cutting through a soft cake. However, before the shell was penetrated, the snail serpent had already abandoned it and tried to slither away into safety.

Wang GuiYing chuckled as he jumped up and landed right in front of the fleeing serpent.

"Why is the lunch running away so soon?" Wang GuiYing playfully asked as he teased the creature.

This snail serpent was the one that had confidently come up to attack them.

When it approached them, it looked to be full of itself, but now, it looked as if this creature had lost all self-esteem and was more than ready to beg for forgiveness.

But even if the creature did beg for forgiveness, there was no way Wang GuiYing was going to be kind-hearted enough to let it go.

Wang GuiYing hated to be bothered and currently, this serpent needed to pay for its mistake of bothering the man.

Like a candle flame flickering in the wind, the snail serpent decided to make one last attempt at biting the man, but before it could close its jaw, Wang GuiYing had already sliced its head off from the rest of its body.

He was only holding a dagger and used nothing more than that dagger, but he was still able to decapitate the creature with such a clean swing.

The snail serpent died without even realizing how it had died.

Wang GuiYing sighed as he looked down at his clothes which had been faintly stained with blood splatters.

Xin clapped his hands as he approached the man and the corpse, "That was impressive."

Wang GuiYing wasn't flattered to hear this compliment, on the contrary, he glared at the man that had spoken.

"You'll have to wash my clothes before leaving. If you can't get the bloodstains out, I'm not letting you leave this game," Wang GuiYing spoke, looking to be as serious as he could.

Xin showed a small smile and nodded his head, "Don't worry about it. The blood stains would disappear after a few minutes."

Wang GuiYing didn't believe the man completely, but he didn't bother saying anything against it either.

He simply decided to wait a few minutes in order to check whether the man had lied or not.

"Oh my..." Xin's eyes shifted towards the corpse of the beast and he couldn't help but be a little surprised as he muttered.

Wang GuiYing also turned to look at what had shocked the man.

"A purple magical stone...?" Wang GuiYing look to be a little confused as he muttered, questioning.

"You're quite lucky," Xin spoke as he pointed out, "The purple magical stones are the highest valued magical stones. They are rare and can be found in any level of beasts."

Wang GuiYing gulped as he heard this and looked to be fascinated by this purple magical stone.

"Can it help grow my spiritual root?" The man asked.

"..." Xin was a bit stunned to hear this question and he didn't know if he was supposed to laugh or not.

This purple magical stone was so hard to come across that even Xin had never seen it in the last three years of playing this game.

A single purple magical stone had the benefits of a million pink magical stones.

Forget about growing a spiritual root, extracting and consuming just one purple magical stone would give players the ability to control almost all elements that existed in this game.

For a mage, this purple magical stone was like a one-of-a-kind treasure worth fighting for.

Xin sighed and patiently explained the importance of the stone to Wang GuiYing.

By the time he was done, Wang GuiYing's eyes looked as if they were ready to pop out of his sockets. He immediately rushed to pick up the purple magical stones and hid them.

"Why didn't you say so sooner?!" Wang GiuYing scolded the man.

"..."

"Let's not extract it just yet!" Wang GuiYing continued as he thought about it for a minute and spoke, "If it is as useful as you say, drinking it as a soup might be wasteful."

Xin nodded his head, agreeing with Wang GuiYing.

In the first place itself, he also had no plans on making this stone into a soup. That was not only wasteful but also disrespectful to the rare purple magical stone.

"Once you master extraction, I'll give it to you," Wang GuiYing spoke and this time, Xin was a bit shocked to hear this.
