Wang GuiYing was not a great dancer but he wasn't bad at it either. However, although he was neither bad nor good at it, he was still quite confident and that confidence became a charm that drew attention towards him.
Everyone made way for the two and automatically assumed that they were a couple on a date.
At first, Xin was a little hesitant to join Wang GuiYing but after a while, he also couldn't help but dance along with the man.
Their movements were chaotic and did not match the beat of the music but the two were still laughing as they danced together.
Wang GuiYing was feeling pretty good. He was happy and as he laughed together with Xin, he couldn't help but wonder just how long it had been since he was this happy.
He wasn't worried about anything nor was he frantically running around in search of Zhou Xinyi. He wasn't thinking about anything else. He wasn't planning on what to do next either. He was simply carefree and danced to his heart's content.
Xin was also naturally the same. He felt a bit too happy and that happiness scared him a little as he wondered how long it would last.
If this moment could last forever... Wouldn't it be perfect...?
Wang GuiYing looked at Xin's laughing face and he felt his heart skip a beat. The words of the fortune-teller repeated in his mind.
'The one standing beside you is your soulmate.'
Suddenly, a thought ran through his head, a thought that scared him a little, 'How perfect would it be if this man really was Zhou Xinyi...?'
Wang GuiYing moved closer to Xin and with a wide grin on his face, he leaned in closer to the man's ears as he spoke, "You suck at dancing."
Xin chuckled as he replied, "So do you."
Wang GuiYing laughed but didn't refute it. He didn't bother stepping back either as he remained standing close to the man.
Xin gulped as he looked at Wang GuiYing.
This man was real, completely different from the Wang GuiYing that this world had created for him. Every word he said, every action he did, and his every expression were completely different from the other him.
He really missed this man... This real Wang GuiYing...
The man whom he was running away from and the man he wished would find him...
But even as he stood this close to the man, he couldn't hug him, he couldn't touch him, he couldn't kiss him and he... Couldn't tell him the truth.
He couldn't tell him that he had lied. He couldn't tell him that his name wasn't actually Xin. He couldn't tell him that he was more than just a fan.
In the end, he couldn't tell him that the Zhou Xinyi he was looking for wasn't lost but standing right in front of him.
Suddenly, Wang GuiYing grabbed the man's collar and pulled him closer, closing off his lips with his own.
Xin's eyes widened in surprise and he had been so taken back that he could no longer even respond.
He wondered if this was an illusion as well.
Had he been fooled once again?
Was this not the real Wang GuiYing but a temptation instead...?
Wang GuiYing didn't know what came over him but when he saw Xin looking at him like that, his body acted on its own and he immediately grabbed the man and kissed him.
His mind went blank and he closed his eyes, completely immersing himself in the moment, not caring about the meaning behind his action and not worrying about what would happen next.
'This isn't Zhou Xinyi,' He kept reminding himself but in the end, for some reason, his heart disagreed.
He resembled Zhou Xinyi but didn't look like him. He behaved like Zhou Xinyi but the two weren't exactly alike. There was enough proof for Wang GuiYing to conclude that this man wasn't him and yet, his heart screamed to recognize him as Zhou Xinyi.
When Wang GuiYing opened his eyes, he saw Xin looking back at him with shock evident in his eyes but aside from the obvious shock, there was always a feeling of happiness and love hidden in those eyes.
Zhou Xinyi also had those exact same eyes...
Wang GuiYing was about to stop but when he saw those pair of eyes looking at him like that, he no longer cared about anything else and continued to deepen the kiss.
He wrapped his hand around the man's neck and bit his bottom lip, forcing the man to part his lips and open his mouth.
There were still people watching but the two were lost in their own world, just like how it had always been...
Xin didn't want this feeling to end. It felt like the sweetest dream and he didn't want to wake up just yet, but, he had to pull himself together.
He gently pushed Wang GuiYing back and asked, "Am I... A substitute for Zhou Xinyi...?"
His voice was slightly shaky and he didn't dare meet the man's eyes as he asked this question.
"Does it matter?" Wang GuiYing asked back, his eyes still staring at the man's slightly swollen lips.
Xin gulped and before he could say anything as a response, a loud shriek came from the crowd.
Wang GuiYing and Xin immediately turned towards where the sound had come from.
They saw a fire. To be more exact, it was a moving fire.
As the fire moved, the crowd made way for it. People closer to the fire looked to be both shocked and horrified.
Wang GuiYing's eyebrows creased together and his lips curled down in a frown as he squinted his eyes to look at the fire with a bit more attention.
That wasn't just a moving fire... It was a person!
Wang GuiYing gulped as he snapped his head towards Xin, who looked back at him with the same seriousness. The two understood the situation clearly and remembered the words of the receptionist.
'Two outsiders had come and in front of everyone, they burned down thirty-eight people in the middle of the fair.'
Those thirty-eight people had now become thirty-nine!
There was a little girl crying right next to the burning body that still had enough life to scream and run around in agony.
Unlike all the other people around, the little girl wasn't afraid of the burning person, she was devasted and wanted to help but every time she tried to approach, her little hands would get burnt and the burning person would immediately move away from her as if trying to keep the little girl away.
Wang GuiYing's heart dropped as he recognized the little girl. The little girl was the one standing in front of the candied crab apples, asking her mother to buy some for her.
If she was crying then... That burning person was probably her mother...!!
"We can't save her," As if guessing what was on Wang GuiYing's mind, Xin had already spoken, warning him of the reality.
"Damn it...!"
"The gamemaster must be nearby," Xin spoke as he looked around.
Since there was a burning person here then, of course, the two gamers would also be here!
It seemed that they would be able to find the two in time and Wang GuiYing was glad about that. He frantically looked around in search of the two but stopped once he realized something else.
If Li Ling was here then... It was time for Xin to leave.
In the first place itself, that was the main reason why they had come to this fourth stage.
Wang GuiYing gulped and his muscles tensed up as he stopped looking for the two.
Xin, on the other hand, did not notice this change in Wang GuiYing's expression and continued to look around in search of the gamemaster and Zhihao.
The fire slowly consumed and melted the flesh of the little girl's mother and soon enough, the woman was no longer breathing. Her body limply fell down and continued to burn fiercely. She had passed away a torturous death.
The crowd thought it was over and many were ready to sigh in relief but before they could even finish that sigh, another loud scream came and there was another burning person.
Wang GuiYing's frown deepened but he wasn't kind enough to help.
Xin, on the other hand, looked at the scene very carefully and it seemed that he had noticed something that nobody else was able to notice.
"The fire is red and it's taking too long for them to die."
Wang GuiYing gulped as he heard this and took a closer look at the burning person.
At first, he had been too shocked to notice the color of the fire and since he had recognized the first person that started to burn, he wasn't exactly able to find anything weird about the time it took to kill her.
However, now that Xin had pointed it out, he couldn't help but feel even more shocked.
