"So... You really have one?" Xin asked. This time, he sounded a bit more hesitant and although he tried his best to hide his feelings, the sadness could still be felt in his voice.
Wang GuiYing was too busy remembering Zhou Xinyi and hence, he didn't notice the change in Xin's voice.
"I do."
"..." Xin felt as if his heart had been dropped to the ground and was now shattered right in front of him.
"I've liked that person for a long time now," Wang GuiYing confessed, "But in the last four years, I didn't get to see that person much, and now, I miss that person even more. My feelings can't be clearer and when I meet that person again, I'm gonna confess."
With just a few words, Wang GuiYing had trampled all over Xin's shattered heart.
"In the last four years? Ah, you must have been too busy searching for Zhou Xinyi..." Xin muttered and felt even more horrible.
Was he the reason why Wang GuiYing didn't get to meet that person much and because of that, his feelings got stronger...??
"Something like that," Wang GuiYing responded, not bothering to clear up the misunderstanding.
"I see..." Xin nodded his head lightly, "In that case, you'll have to thank Zhou Xinyi for making you realize your feelings."
"I guess I would need to thank him for quite a few things," Wang GuiYing beamed with a chuckle.
Xin closed his eyes and felt the strong urge to be buried six feet under.
If Wang GuiYing was an idiot, so was Xin. The two talked about each other and yet they were still oblivious about it. They got jealous and heartbroken because of themselves.
When Wang GuiYing finally woke up from his thoughts and turned to say something to Xin, he saw that the man had already fallen asleep.
A small smile crept up on Wang GuiYing's face and his hands gently brushed back the hair that fell on Xin's face.
"I've loved him for a really long time," Wang GuiYing muttered under his breath as he looked at Xin's face and fully admired the beauty that God had blessed this man with, "But now, I feel like I'm falling in love all over again. Is it really fine to be like this...?"
Thankfully Xin was sleeping cause if he wasn't, his ears would have immediately reddened after hearing this and he would have been too surprised to react properly.
There was nobody there to answer Wang GuiYing's question and in the first place itself, he wasn't looking to hear an answer either. The question drifted away with the wind, as it was meant to be and Wang GuiYing slowly shut his eyes as he fell into a deep slumber.
If they could find Li Ling tomorrow, this would possibly be the last night that he would spend with this mysterious man who called himself Xin.
The next morning, Wang GuiYing surprisingly woke up before Xin but he didn't get up nor did he do anything productive. Instead, he rested his chin on his hand and looked at Xin who was still leisurely asleep.
Wang GuiYing's mind was empty and there was a small smile on his face. He was simply admiring the man's face and when the sun started disturbing Xin's sleep, Wang GuiYing held his hand up and blocked the harsh sun rays from touching the man's face.
A minute of silence passed and Wang GuiYing immediately put his hand down in embarrassment as he realized what he was doing.
'Did I turn into a romance drama male lead after a single night?!' Wang GuiYing scolded himself in his head.
Suddenly Xin's eyes fluttered open and the drowsiness still hung on his eyelids, making the man look extremely adorable.
Wang GuiYing gulped as he tried his best to hold himself back and not pinch the man's cheeks.
Restraining himself actually proved to be quite hard but he was still able to manage it.
"You're up?" Xin asked, his voice hoarse and polite, sounding exactly like Zhou Xinyi's.
Wang GuiYing immediately closed his eyes and chanted something in his mind as if it were a mantra to control himself, 'He's not Zhou Xinyi. He's not Zhou Xinyi. He's not Zhou Xinyi. He's not Zhou Xinyi. He's not Zhou Xinyi. He's not Zhou Xinyi. He's not Zhou Xinyi. He's not Zhou Xinyi!"
"Are you okay?" Xin noticed the odd reaction from Wang GuiYing and the worry fully snapped him awake as he looked at the man with worried eyes.
Wang GuiYing showed a toothy grin as he lied, "I'm perfectly alright!"
"..."
He opened his eyes and instead of looking at the man, Wang GuiYing turned his head up towards the sky as he exclaimed, "The sun looks quite cute today, doesn't it?"
"..."
Wang GuiYing wanted to bury himself six feet under.
'What in the hell am I spouting?! The sun looks cute... My foot! Has your brain really rotten away in front of a Zhou Xinyi look-alike?! Were you always such an easy man?! Have some restrain!"
Unexpectedly, Xin chuckled and felt a little amused as he looked up at the sky and teased Wang GuiYing, "You are right. The sun does look cute today."
'Please kill me already...'
Wang GuiYing was too embarrassed to respond and hence, he kept quiet, not daring to say something more stupid.
Xin pushed himself off the ground as he spoke, "Let's go look for food."
Wang GuiYing nodded his head as he stood up and immediately joined the man, changing the topic in a heartbeat, "Let's do that! The soup you cooked yesterday was quite good. I wanna eat it again."
Xin was a bit surprised as he heard this response and his lips lightly curled into a small frown. He took a minute to think about it before he nodded his head and spoke, "Alright."
Wang GuiYing almost felt his mouth water as he heard that the man was going to cook that soup again.
"But you'll need to wait," Xin spoke.
Before Wang GuiYing could say anything, Xin snapped his fingers and suddenly, a chair made out of stone emerged from the ground and pushed Wang GuiYing to sit on it.
Wang GuiYing was taken by surprise but he was clearly not complaining.
"While I go ready the ingredients, wait here."
"I want to help as well," Wang GuiYing spoke with a small frown as he looked at the man with his eyes wide open, innocently requesting the man to give him something to do.
Xin was a bit surprised to hear this response and he couldn't help but comment, "You want to help? Wah~ You've finally changed your ways..."
"..." Wang GuiYing felt as if he had been dissed but he didn't mind it.
"In any case, there is no need for you to help this time. Just sit back and relax."
Since Xin had reassured him that there was nothing he could help the man with, Wang GuiYing naturally did not insist any further. He comfortably positioned himself on the stone chair and looked at Xin with great interest.
If one were to see this scene, they would certainly think that Wang GuiYing was some young master who was bullying his subordinate to work all alone without any assistance.
However, this subordinate was also weird since he was being bullied with a delighted smile on his face... Was he perhaps a masochist...?!
Wang GuiYing watched the man sitting down with his legs crossed and chanting something in this Buddhist posture.
Wang GuiYing immediately felt shocked. He should've already guessed that the delicious soup wasn't cooked with normal methods...!
Xin took out two bright pink colored magical stones and placed them on the stone bowl that he had created.
Wang GuiYing immediately recognized the magical stones. They were the ones that had been found after Xin had killed the three-headed beast that attacked them right on the very first day that they had met each other.
He closed his eyes and carefully started chanting something. Slowly, the shine of the magical stones turned even more intense and the color of it started changing. To be more exact, as the light got brighter, the color started fading away, leaving behind a more transparent stone.
However, Xin did not stop, and eventually, the brightness also started to die down as the magical stones melted into water that filled the stone bowl.
Wang GuiYing's mouth hung open in awe and he couldn't help but feel as if he was currently in the presence of a God that could turn stone into water.
Xin didn't open his eyes but he still spoke, "Close your mouth or you'll start drooling."
Wang GuiYing suddenly sprang up from his seat out of nowhere and exclaimed, "You lied!"
"Hmm?" Xin opened his eyes and looked at Wang GuiYing with interest, his eyes questioning; What exactly have I lied about?
"You are a mage that controls the wind and earth! How can you use the magic of extraction as well...?!"
That was clearly a good question...
If it were anybody else, they would have simply thought that the man could do it since he was an earth mage, but in reality, although he was an earth mage, what he had done just now was not something a simple earth mage could have done.
