"You are a mage that controls the wind and earth! How can you use the magic of extraction as well...?!"
Xin didn't want to lie to the man so he spoke, "I never lied to you."
"You did!" Wang GuiYing insisted.
Xin shook his head as he once again defended himself, "I did not."
"You told me you were a dual-element mage!"
This time, Xin nodded his head as he agreed, "That's right. I am a dual-element mage."
Wang GuiYing's eyebrows creased together in confusion and he questioned, "Then do you expect me to believe that a dual-element mage who only deals with the earth and wind can transform a magical stone into water??"
A small smile formed on Xin's face as he heard this question and he calmly responded, "I did not lie to you. I am a dual-element mage and you are right, with my dual-elemental powers, it is impossible to completely change the form and features of something."
Wang GuiYing was even more confused as he heard this and his frown deepened.
"What I did just now is called extraction of power. It's an element all on its own but I have yet to master it so I dare not call myself a professional mage of extraction."
"..."
Wang GuiYing didn't know if he wanted to punch the man or kick him.
Extraction of power was rather an unpopular element since not many players were fully aware of the usage and benefits it provided. Since there weren't a lot of people choosing to master this element, it was only natural that information about it was limited.
However, from the research that Wang GuiYing had done, he knew about the base of it.
Extraction of power gave the user an odd ability to extract magic from anything and everything. They could choose to fully absorb this power or to change it into something. In a fight, most mages who used this element would extract magical power from the ground and change its form into something formidable before attacking the enemy with it.
With this simple element, a stone could turn into a lion and a lion could turn into a mountain.
"I am simply trying something new. If I can master it then I'll be able to call myself a multi-element mage. It's quite a heavy title so I dare not throw it around recklessly."
Xin was being honest but at the same time, there were clearly some important details that he had purposefully refrained from mentioning.
One such important detail was the fact that in the first place itself, it should've been impossible for him to even try out this element.
After all, the extraction element was something that was completely incompatible with all other elements, and hence, players only got to choose it at the very beginning of the game and if they didn't choose it back then, they would never come across the option to choose it again.
The only reason why Xin was able to learn about the extraction element and use it to this level was because of the tree of life.
The tree of life was an existence of mystery and it had mastered all elements. Since Xin could communicate with the tree of life, he could also learn all that the tree had to teach.
"And this is not exactly water," Xin spoke as he gestured over to the liquid that he had extracted from those two magical stones, "It's morning dew."
Wang GuiYing's eyebrows creased together in confusion and he asked, "What's morning dew?"
"It's a kind of magical liquid in this game," Xin explained with a small warm smile tugging at his lips, "It is hard to find and even harder to create, but the benefits it gives are certainly worth it."
Wang GuiYing nodded his head in understanding and once again calmed down as he asked, "What are its benefits?"
"If drunk as it is, it can instantly increase the stamina of a player. If consumed after being processed further, it can give birth to spiritual roots within a player's body."
Wang GuiYing looked to be a little shocked and confused as he heard this, "Spiritual roots...? Are we in some sort of XianXia* world?"
(XianXia- Chinese cultivation genre.)
Xin chuckled as he heard this response and immediately explained, "It is not a XianXia based game but the inspiration taken from it is clearly evident."
"If you consume it as a processed soup, you'll slowly start growing a spiritual root inside your body. When the root gets strong enough, you'll be able to control an element and in the future, you could very well choose to be a mage."
Wang GuiYing's eyes slightly widened as he heard this and he snapped his head towards the transparent liquid, staring at it as if he was staring at some sort of rare item that could only be seen once every thousand years.
When he ate the soup previously, he had no idea what benefits it brought to him. All he knew was that it tasted delicious and hence he asked Xin to cook it again. If he had known how it was made or at least known how rare it was, he wouldn't have gulped it down so quickly nor would he have been so confident in asking Xin to make it again.
Wang GuiYing gulped as he turned his eyes towards Xin and as the shock faded away, the only expression left on his face was of gratefulness and admiration.
Xin couldn't help but be a little amused with such an overwhelmed reaction.
"Xinnie... Are you an angel sent by God? How can you be so nice to me?" Wang GuiYing asked, almost drooling.
Xin chuckled as he spoke, "I didn't make it so that you could gain such spiritual roots."
"Eh?"
"I only made it because it tasted delicious. The spiritual roots are nothing more than extra added benefits."
"..." Wang GuiYing was left speechless, not being able to decide whether he should curse the man or thank him.
"You drank the soup yesterday so you should be able to feel the spiritual roots by now," Xin pointed out as he looked at Wang GuiYing.
Wang GuiYing gulped as he heard this and tried to notice if there was anything different with his body, but unfortunately, he wasn't able to find anything new.
"Maybe it didn't work...?" Wang GuiYing's lips curled down into a frown and he looked to be a little disappointed as he commented.
Xin shook his head as he firmly spoke, "That can't be it."
"Then how come I feel normal?" Wang GuiYing questioned, helplessly looking at the other.
Xin also frowned as he found it weird and so, he stood up and walked over to Wang GuiYing as he spoke, "Let me check."
Wang GuiYing nodded his head, giving permission, but before he could say anything, he felt Xin's warm hand resting against his chest.
Wang GuiYing immediately bit his tongue and gulped as he stared at the man with his eyes widened in surprise.
He felt as if his heart was starting to beat faster and no matter how hard he tried, he could not control this reaction. His ears heated up as well and he was sure that Xin had probably noticed it as well.
However, Xin was oblivious to it. He had his eyes closed and was completely focused on searching for the spiritual root inside Wang GuiYing's body.
A minute or so passed and Xin finally put his hand down and retreated a step as he spoke, "It's indeed there."
Wang GuiYing was immediately taken back, "It's there...?! Are you sure??"
Xin nodded his head with a small smile that was hardly noticeable, "It is certainly there."
"But it's quite weak so you might not be able to feel it just yet," Xin explained as he added.
Although it didn't look like the man was lying about this, Wang GuiYing was still doubtful and so he asked, "You're not lying, are you? Are you fooling me in order to make me feel better?"
Xin sighed as he heard this question, "If you don't believe me, there is a way to prove my words."
Wang GuiYing didn't even think about it before he replied, "Then prove it!"
Xin once again took a step closer to the man and this time, he lifted his index and middle finger together to tap Wang GuiYing's forehead, right in between the man's eyebrows.
Wang GuiYing suddenly felt as if he had been shot but not with a bullet...
His body instantly heated up and his vision went blank. A sense of great pleasure flooded his body and he felt as if he had been shot with an aphrodisiac.
When his vision cleared up, all he could see was white and his body felt a little too awake. He could hear every sound, he could feel every breath and at the slightest of touch, his body reacted greatly.
He gulped as he looked at the far-off distance and noticed somebody standing there. Without thinking too much about it, Wang GuiYing ran towards that person only to realize that it was Xin.
Xin was busy staring down at the small sapling on the ground and although he did notice Wang GuiYing's presence in this void, he did not pay much attention to the other.
