Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

We arrived at the beach house. The first thing we did was check messages. I found no less than fifty messages from Angela. She was pissed that we were having fun without her. She wanted to share the latest gossip on what she calls feature creatures. I shook my head and deleted the messages. When the girls came I explained what I had done and they nod their heads with approval.

Cathy asked me when I moved here since they only know me from the chatrooms. I explained that we moved last month since the doctors thought my treatment would be permanent. Before that, I had lived in a beach town not far from here. The girls asked me how I was doing and I told them the new round of meds I am taking seemed to be working. I had to be careful not to overdo myself. They seemed pleased to hear that. The girls promised to be careful. They wanted to know if I will still be homeschooled. I told them that I won't be homeschooled anymore. I applied to the same high school as they are and will be joining them in class.

They promised to give me a tour and I asked them not to lock me in the roof or the janitor's closet. They promised they won't do anything like that. I walked out to see a car in the distance. I walked back in and explained it to the girls. They pulled out an old telescope and discovered it was Angela. So they hid the car, turned off the lights and ran to hide Since we hadn't lit the fireplace we managed to get away with it. Otherwise, she would park outside till we called her parents. They would come and make a spectacle before they take her home.

I asked her why they are hiding from a friend and they explained that she is not a friend. She is a bully. She likes to harass people till they do her bidding. She acts like everything is her property. She is only interested in them because both Daisy and Annie are rich. She wants to splurge and live a rich lifestyle. I shook my head and asked her what they were planning to do when school starts. I joked and said maybe we should make a group that can have only five members. Alice, Cathy, Annie, Daisy and me. The same as secret seven. They looked at me funny. "The Who" they asked in unison. I gave them the novel and they seemed to think it was a little childish but the rules of the secret organization were appealing to them so they agreed to make a secret group. No extra members are allowed under any circumstances.

When we saw that the coast is clear. We first made sure that all the locks were working so we would be as safe as possible. Then the party began. The first thing the girls did was teach me was how to swim. That took a few minutes to learn. Then we walked to the small grocery store to get whatever was edible. We picked up a carton of milk, chocolate, risotto rice, smoked salmon, butter, a few herbs and spices, a few bags of ice, a family size bag of potato chips and some soda.

When we got home we saw that Angela was back again. This time she saw us and we had to hide. Daisy called Angela's dad and he took half an hour to arrive. When he did she pulled a tantrum about how unfair this was. He took her away explaining that inviting herself when she was unwelcome is a bad idea. She was pissed that her family wasn't that rich. He declared that she was grounded for the rest of the holiday. She will spend her punishment by helping her mother. Her mother was cleaner. This didn't sit well with her. She complained till she was told that either that or she can spend the night in jail because Daisy complained about breaking and entering. She stared at us for a moment and left without saying anything. She kept looking back at us with immense resentment.

When the coast was clear we set everything on the table and a man in a butler's uniform arrived along with a few maids. They did the cooking and the cleaning while we watched TV and did online shopping. We ate five course meals each time. Even for breakfast. We dressed in all sorts of styles from different eras. We laughed as we listened to some melodies of the bygone era.

The next morning we were having breakfast when Angela called us asking permission to hang out with us. I asked if it was possible to change the number for safety reasons. They said they did but she found the passcode to disengage the alarm system and got the new number. I suggested that keep the passcode in a safety deposit box. This seemed like an interesting idea so they said that will consider it. I asked if it was possible to divert all calls from her to her mother or father. Before they managed to answer she left a very filthy message with a lot of profanities. So they quickly called her mother and also the phone company to divert the call from Angela to somewhere else. She has become a nuisance. They complied and the calls ended. We went swimming and fishing. We caught a few trout and salmon as well. The cook baked the trout and grilled the salmon. It was delicious.

We had finished dinner when the doorbell rang and it was Daisy's mother. She walked in and saw that we were safe. She inquired about me and Daisy reminded her who I was. She smiled and excused herself to make a phone call. It turns out that Angela had called her and said that the girls were in serious danger. After she yelled at Angela's father she insisted on doing mani-pedi with us. She told us about her style of clothes and hair during school days and we asked her to help us look like she did those days. She cheerfully pulled out the curler and styled our hair. When she was done we look like Marilyn Monroe. She wished us goodnight and went upstairs. We stayed a little bit longer because tomorrow we go back home.

We woke up feeling blue but that changed when we saw breakfast. After we ate it was time to go home. I thought we take a cab but their chauffeur arrived to drive us safely. Mom was waiting for me outside and she seemed amused that I was so excited. She was shocked when she saw that I was walking without any assistance. She also saw that I looked as healthy as a horse. She was pleased that the new meds were working. I walked up to my room and took a pill for each sheet and flushed it down the toilet.

I walked down to hear my brother was trying to talk to mom and she refused to agree with him. She said that my father has decided that I should live with him because my meds were too expensive for her. He said he will take care of me. She is already looking for an apartment. My brother will be living on his own or with her. Whether he likes it or not this house will be on sale on three days. He better start apartment hunting. He stormed off yelling how he hated that he has to move. He gave me an angry look and left.
