Nadia managed to pack a few things and also did some shopping for her vacation. Her flight was scheduled for seven in the evening so Keziah decided to drop her off at the airport.
It was already thirty minutes after they arrived.
A voice announced their departure and she hugged Keziah before moving to the depature hall.
The flight she booked was economy since she couldn't afford the luxury of first class.
A brief moment of jealousy washed on her but she quickly threw that thought aside. She's had enough of jealousy already and she felt nausea rising in her if she kept it up.
Everything settled, she sat in her seat and looked out the window.
As usual, directions /instructions were announced and everyone buckled up. Within minutes, they were airborne.
She shut her eyes but sleep wasn't coming. She kept wondering what her life was going to become if she didn't find a job soon.
She didn't like burdening her mom so finding a job in Ghana was out of the question.
Her mom's relationship with her dad came to an end when she was fifteen.
Her dad wasn't much of a family man and didn't stay at home often. Her mom will question him every time he showed up after weeks of absence but he never gave any good reasons for his absences.
Her mom had coped with all that for her sake but after her fifteenth birthday, she has had enough and called in quits.
She returned to her country and Nadia stayed with her dad.
For some time he stayed at home with her but since old habits died hard, he started his routine again and by the time she was eighteen, he wasn't coming home at all.
Nadia learned to cook and do the house chores.
If things were too tough, she video called her mom and she gave her directions.
She also visited Africa once every year but in the past three years, she hasn't been able to visit.
Her life was not easy but she comforted herself that it was better. As for her dad, she couldn't tell if he was still living or dead and in fact, she didn't care either.
Six and half hours without as much as a minute of sleep, the plane touched ground and announced their arrival.
Her mom had promised to pick her up and that was comfort.
She remembered three years ago when her mom told her to come home by herself so that she could grow accustomed to the area.
Four hours passed and she still hadn't arrived. She was lost and the chauffer was tired.
Her mom called and laughed. She came to pick her at the airport after she told the them to turn back.
Nadia chuckled.
That was one of her most embarrassing days. She forgot to use her GPS.
She took a deep breath and walked to pick her bag. Once she laid hands on her stuff, she begun walking to the waiting area.
A lot of people were gathered, waiting for their family and friends but before she got closer, she bumped hard into someone which made her drop her handbag.
She bent to pick it up and that person just towered over her without making an attempt to help which she thought should have been the right manners to be exhibited.
She straightened and looked into the eyes of the man she bumped into.
It was a set of blue crystals she had never seen before.
Her eyes moved to his nose and continued down till it rested on his lips.
The thought of how those lips will feel on hers did not stray from her mind and for some time, she stared with mouth agape.
She shut her mouth when she realised she was staring and came back to reality. She looked straight at him.
Ignoring the few men he stood with, she crossed her arms over her chest, handbag firmly gripped in her armpits.
Someone needed to hear a little bullshit from her and she found the person.
This was a moment to release some pent up stress.
"Isn't it just normal to help someone who bumped into you because you abruptly stopped pick up the things you helped drop from her bag?"
He didn't answer and just stared at her. Nadia felt her anger grow in folds.
"Cat got your tongue huh. You ain' t going to say any thing? Whoa. What a welcome on my first day after three years.
You look perfectly fine and masculine on the outside, I'll give you that but I guess you really are deaf and dumb."
She made sure to stress on the last word.
" On that note, excuse me. "
She turned and saw her mom.
" Gift come over here. "
Her mom said waving. Nadia smiled and walked to her.
" Such a pity"
"What?"
Her mom asked.
"Nothing mom" she wondered if the pity was towards herself or that man.

IAN
Ian Faurot's jet landed some minutes ago and his local manager hadn't come to pick him up. YET.
He hated crowded areas especially running into outspoken people like the lady he just bumped into.
He continued to look at tge direction Nadia went with the petit woman beside her. He could tell they were related by the resemblance between them though the older woman was darker.
He didn't fail to notice the finely dressed man who approached him.
"Ian welcome"
The man said smiling.
"Do you ever wonder why you still work for me?"
He asked.
"It's because you never learn"
"Yes sir. I will strive to learn hard from now."
The man replied putting on a sarcastic tone but Ian didn't care.
"Next time you are a minute late means you are fired. Get me a private landing area or be here thirty minutes before my jet lands"
Ian said in his usual unfriendly tone.
"Yes sir."
They walked outside to the sleek black lambhorgini Urus Ian always sent ahead before his arrivals if he had to stay for over a month.
"I've prepared a welcome party with some hotties for your pleasure"
He smirked.
"I'm not here for one of your reunions. When my business is over, you can enjoy them your self"
This man was really brazen. Maybe firing him will wake him up.
Ian sat in his car and his head guard drove away.
