Looking at the door, we all strengthen our resolve. Slowly, we open the door. Like a raging bull, the red creature rammed the door, bang!!! The force from the red creature ramming the door causes us to knock back intensely backward. I could feel a numbing vibration across my arm from that collision.
Seeing that there was a red creature outside, they prepared to attack. I told Tompson to give us a command. He put two commands on us: fight better and stand strong. Feeling the rush of strength inside my body. I also use my ability, Colossal Might. Opening the door with my 2.7 meter tall structure, I confront the red creature.
The beast came running in it's four meter glory. Seeing the incoming beast, I also charged forward. Although I am smaller and weaker, I have a feeling that this creature isn't intellectual. I was right. The beast did not use any martial art or strategy to fight. All it did was flail around like a kid who only knows how to punch. As someone who trains in the art of combat, dodging these barbaric punches is as easy as a breeze.
The first punch came and I dodged it easily. Using my size and speed advantage, I maneuver around its body, making it hard for the beast to hit me. The beast swung its hand in a semi-circle, trying to hit me. It obviously failed and opened itself to a world of pain. I punch it's heart, then the abdomen before making space between us. In a fight where I can get knocked out in a single punch, it's safer to not be greedy in inflicting damage.
Frustrated in its inability to hit me, the beast lunged forward at me like a hungry lion. Seeing his obvious move, I dodged his attack without a problem. Making such a big move, the beast was open to attack again, and I did just that. I did a quick kick toward it's head before distancing myself again. The beast clutched its head, feeling the pain from my kick. This showcased to me that it was vulnerable to the head. So I thought of a strategy to do so.
While I was fighting, my other comrade was fighting another red creature. It had a height of only three meters, and was different from the one I was fighting. The one I am fighting is filled with testosterone. The three-meter tall red creature was lean and quick. However, sadly for it, the speed advantage didn't work on any of the battle hardened soldiers. Tompson commands move faster, giving a massive boost to everyone's overall speed. William did a powerful kick toward the creature's leg, with the purpose of slowing it down.
Sadly, the creature was able to react quickly enough and dodge the attack. However, it luck ran out when John appeared from behind, punching with two quick jabs. One of them managed to crit with a two-time multiplier. The critical hit caused the beast to stagger in mid-way. With a lightning quick reaction, William jumps into the air, punching the creature in the face. The beast howled and felt incredible pain. Seeing a big opportunity, John punched it four times quickly toward its leg, managing to crit with a three-time multiplier while numbing the creature's leg.
The beast's fully enraged attack is even more barbaric, even resorting to hurting itself. This would scare off amateurs, but these guys are not amateurs. They are killers born from war, seeing that the beast was turning even more stupid. The fight got easier, especially when the beast was limping. Knowing that the beast feels most pain in the head, the two soldiers' only focus is the head. To achieve this, the two would do the same process they did before, on repeat. Until slowly, the beast's head exploded from its body.
In another battle, Longbottom is fighting a five meter beast with scaly black skin. This was a standstill. Both combatants couldn't do any single damage to each other. The black scaly skin beast was too slow to even hit Longbottom and Longbottom couldn't do a single damage to the beast. Tompson gave every command he could to help the fight move forward, but nothing worked.
Glance toward the two other fights and notice that John and William were finished with their battle. So he asked for their assistant. Hearing his summons, John and William charge into battle. The three cooperate with each other in dealing damage, but they realize the only weakest part of the beast is its head. Which was a problem, seeing that the beast was five meters high. They couldn't reach that high even if they did their best. Until something clicks, what if John can do a critical hit so high that it would break the beast's leg or cause it to stagger downward?
Feeling good about their strategy, William and Longbottom tried their best to grab the beast's attention. They were giving John as much of a chance as possible to deal damage, while they were taking their time defeating the black scale beast.
I was getting closer to defeating the four meter red creature. By this point, its jaw has been broken clean. It has many dents all over its face. I have a feeling that one more strike is all it's going to take to finish this beast. The creature roared in anger, charging like a bulldozer toward me. I sidestep and punch his head with every fiber of my body, exploding the head of the beast like a watermelon. I panted for a while before looking toward the five-meter black-scale beast everyone was fighting.
Seeing the size of the beast made me flinch for a bit. I thought the four meter high red monster was crazy enough. But nevermind, that five-meter one made me feel small, even though I am sort of a giant myself. Looking at that gigantic specimen of a monster, I felt a fire burn within me metaphorically and figuratively. Somehow, I felt like I had grown even taller and stronger. Smoke can be seen being released from my body as it gets bigger. Like a sun burning in me, I felt both energy and extreme heat. Feeling alive more than ever, I clench my fist to hear the wind blowing rampantly.
I dash toward the beast that is a head taller than me. My feet cause cracks to appear every time I take a step. My crashing sound alerted my comrade, who looked at me in astonishment. As I get nearer to the black scale monster, the monster turns its head toward me. Before roaring like a tiger showing its dominance. Ignoring the roar, I just initiated a punch. The monster's confidence in its defense didn't even try to dodge, taking on my punch like a champ. The loud sound from the impact wind blows wildly.
My comrade turned to look at the damage dealt, to their surprise it didn't do anything to the monster. The red creature shouted loudly before punching me. Luckily for me, although its defense is like a tank on steroids, it's speed is slow as a snail. I easily sidestepped that punch and retaliated with a punch of my own toward its face.
Feeling danger, the beast uses its other arm to protect itself. The recoil of my strength caused the red creature's arm to be pushed back and hit its own head. It clutches its face in pain from the impact. Seeing that this beast's head is sensitive to pain, I barraged it with punches to the face. Scared of feeling pain, the red creature is fully on the defense. My punch keeps coming rapidly toward the beast, until I hear cracking from the ground below.
I took a glance at the sound and saw that the ground below the black-scale beast was threatening to break. This inspired me to come up with a plan, to barrage this beast with punches until it sank to the ground, reducing its height to mine. Minutes go by and the thundering sounds of punches echo across the military base. The black scale beast now has most of its legs submerged in dirt. Seeing that it was submerged enough, I quickly changed positions and punched hard toward the beast's head. The creature, not knowing what happened, got its brain exploded from a punch.
The punch I've made feels great. I breathe in heavily from the big consumption of energy. I look to my comrade who's fighting another beast that appears because of the sound of my battle. It is exactly the same as the beast I fought, except with different facial expressions. My five comrades easily dispatched the beast with punches to the head.
Feeling victorious, all of us sit down and pant hard from our battle with the unknown red creature. Tompson asked me, "Lockheart, how are you able to grow so large?"
I replied back. "When looking at the five-meter beast, I felt inferior. Refusing to lose to that beast, I urge myself to grow stronger and bigger. Somehow, I was able to get stronger and bigger. "
Hearing my words, everyone analyzes them carefully, although this might be an accident. Every bite of information counts when information is really scarce. They sit quickly, pondering what the key to my strength growth is. Until Longbottom said "I think I know why his power grew. I think his power grows based on our will to become stronger. Although it's only a will, it isn't easy to accomplish. Most people desire to become stronger, but only some have the commitment to become stronger. I found this out when I developed my ability too. While jealous of Lockheart's ability, I didn't just desire my defense or ability to be stronger. Instead, I considered strategies and ideas for becoming stronger. Those ideas were my commitment and the key to my ability to evolve. Although copying the picture helped out a ton in developing my metallic skin, It was only able to develop when my fighting spirit was at its peak. "
William, hearing this, added, "It's the same for me as well. When I was fighting that five-meter-tall beast, I felt hopeless. I desire to get stronger, but instead of wishing my strength were stronger, I focus on the path I would need to take to get strong. This somehow increases the power of my punch from a three-time multiplier to a four-time multiplier."
John also nodded in agreement, saying that his critical hits occurred more often because of his resolve to be more helpful toward the team.
