Looking at the sea of fiery embers, I walked up to one of them. My titanic arms grab onto one of them. Quickly, my arm feels hot. The warmth transfers from my arm to my body. I can feel energy coursing through my veins, reviving my exhausted body. The sensation was addicting. While I've never done drugs before, this is what I imagined it would be like. I look at the floating ember dancing around me, tempting me to feel more of what I have just felt.
Like a hungry wolf amidst a flock of sheep, I run and dash all over the place, grabbing every fiery ember I can see, or what I call the Lesser Demon Soul, seeing that I am identified as a Lesser Pride Demon. My body at this point felt like it was burning, but for some reason, I didn't feel like stopping. Instead, I was more motivated than ever to feel this fiery burn happening inside of my body. The number of souls grabbed by me continues to rise. 1 grows to 10, 10 grows to 100. Until it stops at 255 souls collected, I was curious as to what the effect of these souls on my state would be, so I opened it, giving me a huge surprise.

My state almost quadrupled looking at my abnormal growth in state. I can't help but feel invincible now. The inflation in my ego motivated me to go out hunting for more demons. I headed quickly toward Section A, which is the furthest away from my spot. You may be wondering why I would travel to the farthest location from my current location to hunt for demons. The answer is that Section A is the opposite of Section C. Why is it important that Section A is the furthest? The answer is that my shout probably didn't reach the Section A demons, but it did reach Section B and D. So, to efficiently kill as many demons as possible and use less time, going to Section A is the best option. Of course, following this plan wouldn't give me a 100% harvest, but still, why should you use so much effort to harvest insects that can be found anywhere?
Just like that, I bulldozed my way toward Section A, crashing through buildings and other things along the way. I'm making as many loud noises as I can in the hopes of attracting demons along the way. Luckily for me, those retarded demons have great sound sensitivity, because 30 of them are already chasing me. However, this isn't enough, so I put more force into my steps, making a thundering sound across the whole base. The strategy works; there are now more than a hundred demons chasing after me now.
I continued dashing like a madman until I heard the sound of fighting from the left. Curious about what was happening there, I took a detour in my plan. A few moments later, the scene of fighting came into my view. In front of me were 13 military officers, 9 being males and 4 being females. They were fighting a group of eight demons. By the look of the situation, I can say for sure that most of them are amateurs. Surprisingly, the ones that are carrying the fight are three of the females. If my guess is right, the female officer must be a war veteran while the rest are new recruits. Additionally, seeing that all they are doing is punching and kicking, their cards must be 1 Star Card, or 2 Star Card that don't have a change in appearance like Sergeant John.
Among these groups of 13 soldiers, one of the female veterans noticed my arrival quickly. Her face turned pale from fright at seeing a ten-meter red monster coming toward them at an abnormally fast speed for someone so big. Without stopping, I rammed my way through the fight. Crushing a males recruit into meat paste and two of the demons was knocked hard into the wall of a building. The group of soldiers finally was able to notice my existence. A majestic red gigantic titan the size of a two story building.
If you look into their eyes you can see hope slowly seeped away from them. Like a lifeless body they look at me numbly contemplating if they were in a dream or not. Sadly reality didn't care about their feeling for the monster in front of them was real. While that was all happening I was focusing on the army of demons chasing after me like there was no tomorrow. The demon army galloping footsteps boomed across the whole military base coming closer and closer to my location.
Looking at the size of the army, I can feel excitement flowing through my skin, giving me the best high I've ever had. Without delay, I quicken my step toward my destination, Section A, leaving the frightful soldiers to get torn limb from limb by the army of demons behind me. I could hear screams coming from their direction, though I didn't fully see the scene. I can catch a glimpse of a man getting his arm eaten by a demon while alive.
Finally, after a ten-minute run, I finally arrived at the edge of Section A. Without further ado, I shouted in the air, trying my best to attract the attention of the demon in the area. It didn't take long for a gigantic wave of demons to come dashing toward me. They all kneel before me like I'm their king, just like in the past. However, this king doesn't accept trash as his subordinate.
I inhale a mouthful of air before punching the demons in front of me. The first demon took the hit right on its chest. Quick as a bullet, the demon's body was sent flying backward toward its comrade. Like a bowling ball crashing into a group of pins, the group of demons at the back collapses together with the first demon. The surrounding demons, seeing that I attacked their comrade, quickly turned aggressive.
I know that if I am surrounded, I will just pummel to death. So, I quickly continued punching and kicking everything in my sight, making a path in front of me. Demons spend flying from the impact of my attacks, crashing into buildings like a meaty meteorite. Some died, some were seriously wounded, but I didn't bother with the result, because one more ant doesn't make a difference to me.
The demon in my path, even when seeing tens of their comrades being slaughtered like bugs, didn't even flinch from fear. They just mindlessly continue to lunge at me, which I welcome with punches and kicks. Like a beautiful red firework show, the heads of demons exploded all around me. I couldn't help but smile in excitement as I crushed a bunch of insects obstructing my path. Of course, while smiling, I am still continuously beating the absolute living crap out of these retarded demons.
In my absence of concentration, one of the demons was able to attack me when I was in my moment of excitement. The painful sensation slowly crawled under my skin, making me feel something I haven't felt for a long time. I felt anger, genuine anger. Something inside of me refused to accept being tricked by something I counted as an insect. My anger burns like the rising sun. I roared, like an ancient beast awakened from its slumber toward the sky.
I strike a punch, channeling all the anger and pride building up in me. The punch, filled with all my might, penetrated through the air, sending a shockwave blowing powerful wind across the battlefield. While these demons aren't smart, they do have great instincts, and their instincts are telling them for the first time that there is no hope if they stay. The demons tried to run away from the trajectory of the punch, but I was faster.
My punch collided with the first demon. The demon exploded into a million pieces, sending shrapnel of bone and flesh toward its allies behind, wounding them. Even when the punch collided with something, the force from the punch was still strong enough to obliterate a few demons behind. Like a ramping bull, I lunged toward the army of demons in my sight. I smashed the heads of two demons, then after I grabbed an Endurance Demon and used it as a weapon of some sort, swinging it at the demons. The bodies of a five-meter giant and five other demons collided, breaking each other's bones. Of course, with these six demons' limited ability to flee, I quickly rip their heads off their bodies like a farmer harvesting wheat.
The corpses of demons were laid down on the ground, twitching without heads. Looking at them, I couldn't help but imagine this place looking like a fish market. I did a little chuckle at that comparison before continuing my massacre of these low-lifes. I killed and killed and killed, until a voice shouted out from behind me, "You bastard monster!!!! You Killed them!!!!!!!! You Killed Them!!!!!"
I stopped to see that the person who shouted at me was one of the female veterans. I am quite surprised that one of them was lucky enough to survive. Seeing that she wasn't destined to die here, I gave her a chance to live. However, again, something inside of me triggered to kill her for insulting me. I don't know what it was before, but I now understand why. I am slowly changing into the real me, the combination of me and the other me. Those memories and visions were the other parts of me, and now that I am accepting my other side, I can finally become the real Lockheart. The one who has been imprisoned for who knows how long.
