"The next time you go there, tell the three demons that you are no longer able to take the job," Daren spoke with a sigh as he suggested, "If the prince that you are trying to kill is really the son of Lucifer, you don't want to deal with him."
That was what he had said... And Alora had readily agreed with him but when she looked at the three female demons looking at her with a blood-thirsty look in their eyes, there was nothing she could say.
"I'll be getting to work now," Alora gulped as she spoke with a smile.
"You look lovely in that uniform, dear!~" Dorothy sang happily as she complimented the girl.
"Hehe..." With an awkward chuckle, Alora nodded her head.
With this, there was one thing that Alora was able to understand and that was perhaps the fact that she hated wearing a maid costume...
This thing was so f*cking tight and irritatingly puffy!!
Her first task was to get close to the demon prince that she had to kill and this was not as hard as she had thought it would be.
It seemed that not many maids were willing to go serve the demon prince out of fear and hence, as soon as she volunteered, the rest were more than happy to let her serve him although she was a new maid with absolutely no experience.
"Take this and go clean his room. Knock three times before saying anything or entering the room," A woman who looked to be the head maid spoke as she handed a cleaning bucket to Alora, "If you are lucky enough, he might not be in his room right now."
Alora gulped as she heard this and blinked as she wondered if she would really be lucky or not if that were to be the case. Her job was to meet the prince and kill him so it was no good if he wasn't there.
"Make sure to only clean things and don't rearrange anything," The woman seriously warned, "Don't touch anything in the room and you only have five minutes to clean. Make sure that everything is spotless by the end of those five minutes and leave as soon as your job is done."
Alora frowned as she heard this and clicked her tongue as she questioned, "How can I clean without touching anything?"
The head maid looked to be a little surprised to hear Alora talking back and smiled thinly as she spoke in a rather intimidating manner, "If you touch anything, you'll be the one roasted into a meal for the hound dogs. If you don't want that happening, you better search for a way."
Alora gulped as she heard this and although she still wanted to argue with the woman, she nodded her head as she agreed.
"I'll get to work."
The other maids and butlers looked at Alora with pity as they waved her goodbye and she couldn't help but feel as if she was a lamb that was being sent to a death trap.
Following the directions that had been given to her, Alora found her way to the door of the prince's room.
The head maid had warned her to knock three times before saying or entering but Alora skillfully ignored that reminder as she kicked the door open and entered the room without asking for permission first.
Thankfully enough, just as the head maid had said, the room was empty and it seemed that Alora was lucky this time.
Alora clicked her tongue as she threw the cleaning bucket and broom down, "What the hell?! I'm not even getting paid for this!!"
Since the room was cleaned every single day, there was not much left for her to clean, or at least that was what Alora had concluded as she decided to slack off.
The head maid had warned her not to touch anything but when Alora looked around and saw all the rare antiques that she had never laid her eyes upon, she couldn't help but once again skillfully ignore the woman's former warning.
"Wha~" Alora sang as she felt amazed seeing a rose-shaped skull.
Since there was no creature shaped like a rose, Alora was sure that the rose skull was fake and hence she carelessly picked it up and tried to check what it was made up of.
CRACK~
A little bit of twisting and before she knew it, it broke...
Alora gulped as her muscles immediately tensed up in horror. She wasn't afraid of the fact that she had broken the thing, rather, she was horrified to know that this was indeed made out of original bones...
To be more exact, it was made by twisting and carving the bone.
Alora gulped as she gently placed the broken artifact back on the shelf.
She carefully stepped a few steps backward and bumped into something else.
"Damn it!" Alora cursed as she turned around almost immediately and saw the fire plate falling down because of her.
Her eyes widened and she gulped as she froze in place.
The fire touched the furry carpet and the next thing she knew, the whole room looked as if it was on fire.
"Hmm... Maybe I should have listened to her," Alora muttered to herself as she thought back to the warnings given by the head maid that she had ignored.
Alora looked at the clock and sighed as she picked up the bucket and left the room, "My five minutes are up. Wouldn't want to be punished for ignoring another warning."
There was at least one warning that she had managed to follow.
She casually made her way back to the underground floor that was made especially for all the workers and she decided to keep the little fire incident a secret.
Thankfully, someone came to stop the fire before it spread out of the room, but unfortunately enough, the person that came to stop the fire was no other than the demon prince himself who was infuriated to see his room in ashes.
"Who did this?!?!" Leon shouted at the top of his throat and that day, the entire palace shook with his voice that echoed throughout the entire place.
This was how Alora made a rememberable grand first day in the palace.
