He landed with his face to the ground and slowly coughed opening his eyes
"Ready you say? If you are you would always be on guard and even this wouldn't surprise you" she said walking over to where he was still lying trying to stand up.
She bent over to his level and says "Do you still think you're ready? Right now?" Oliver looked up at her with determination, "Yes"
There was a moment of silence before she finally got up,
"Then stop lying down there like some weakling and follow me" she said walking out.
Oliver smiled a bit and tried to stand up before feeling his shoulder hurt again,
"Argh, just what did she do?" he said to himself following her outside.
Hilde dropped on her couch with aches all over her body. Even though it was way past midnight, she had just arrived home after a tiring day. She had told Hyde about the incident and his response made her instantly regret it. {We have to hurry up}
He made her train over time and even when her body and bones ached like this, he didn't stop. Her skills had truly improved a lot and now she could even feel the magic when she touched them but, that wasn't still a perfect justification for this treatment.
She closed her eyes trying to get some sleep before she heard footsteps behind her. She sighed loudly and says "Seriously, when did you enter? Weren't you supposed to go home?"
Hyde walked looking around the house with dissatisfaction "This isn't how I left this place" he said. Hilde realized what he was talking about immediately and she turned towards him.
She thought about telling him who did it but quickly dismissed the idea. She hadn't told him that someone saved her because she wasn't even sure herself of what happened that day.
"I changed it back to its original color" she said emphasizing on each word. "It is my house after all" she quickly added when the look on his face became more intense.
"Did you think I changed the color for no reason?" he asked with a chilly voice. She flinched a little but tried to remain calm in his sight.
'There is no way I'm gonna let him intimidate me like this, Especially when I've done nothing wrong' she thought and was about to speak before he interrupted.
"You've done something wrong to yourself" he said and she looked up at him suprised
"How did you?....." she was about to ask before she realized he was reading her mind.
"Can you at least give me some privacy? How can you be reading my mind when we're having a conversation. You aren't following the rules of a proper dialogue" she said furious but he just stared at her with a blank look. She looked away and tried to calm herself,
'It's okay, don't think. Don't think. Wait... he said I did something wrong to myself, what does that mean?' she thought and just then as if remembering something she quickly closed her eyes and grabbed her head with her two hands.
Hyde watched her and shook his head before sitting on the chair in front of her. "You did wrong by hurting yourself"
'He's doing it. Reading my mind again, it's okay everyone takes time to learn' Hilde thought but didn't bother because she was interested in what he was saying.
"The bright colors radiate heat which isn't good for you since you're already burning enough" he paused for a while and looked like he was trying to find the perfect words to say.
Hilde was speechless, this was the first time she had seen him doing something like this. But right now she couldn't indulge in this breathtaking sight because of he said.
'What does he mean by I'm burning. Was that an expression?' she thought before sighing 'Now I'm making the mistake'
"The training you've been undergoing sets off a fire in you. Your inner self uses this fire to control the amount of magic in the weapon through a link it creates.
That link is also what makes the weapons become magical when you use them. However, the amount of heat is inconsistent and sometimes it comes in an excessive amount which runs through your body until you feel your soul burning" he paused yet again and waited until the look of horror disappeared from Hilde's face.
"The dark colors absorbs the heat emanating from you and cools down your inner self. Besides the colors also feel the presence of magic and respect it by playing their roles which helps them coexist" he finished and for a while Hilde didn't say anything and only kept her mouth slightly open.
"Did you see how risky what you did was?" asked Hyde after waiting forever for her response.
She quickly snapped out of it and replied "That was because I didn't know, you should have told me the reason. You just keep doing things without explaining yourself" she said a bit hasty.
'If what he said is true then that explains why I always feel so tired recently. It might not be because of the training but because of the heat. Burning of soul, just how terrific will that be?' she thought.
"More terrible than any sight you would want to picture in your mind right now" he said. She looked up at him with a bit of fear on her face before asking
"You've witnessed something like that before?"
"Yes only once though. It was a gory sight, one that if you saw you would wish you weren't able to see, no. You would wish you weren't born to see it. His voice was agonizing and his body turned black with every passing second. Smoke came out oozing out of every opening in his body and......"
"STOP!" she shouted covering her hears. She was visibly shaking out of fear and beads of sweat already formed around her face. Her eyes were tightly closed like she would see the most scary thing ever if she kept them open. Hyde looked at her shaking figure and sighed. He really went overboard this time, he reached out to touch her shoulder but retracted his hand midair.
"Open your eyes" he said in a soothing voice. She did still shaking and looked down covered in fear.
"Look at me"
She did and even when she was trying hard to calm down it wasn't working.
"Hilde, I won't let that happen to you. Ever"
