When everyone was minding their own businesses, I was obsessed with my fantasy stories and fake scenarios. Darn, I even had an imaginary eagle who was at least 10 feet tall. And I couldn't get over him! There never was a day that I didn't sleep without thinking of him. His name was Kapura. And the special thing about him was that he was a wizard. His actual shape and form was of a 6 feet tall human who knew all the extraordinary magic. And he was an eagle because he wanted to protect his life form. And that life form was me! I used to imagine myself as his treasure which keeps him alive. At least that's what kept me going in those days because my life had gone hectic.
That one night I was dreaming of Kapura! I had an apartment of my own at the top floor of a building. That nicely decorated apartment which had plushies spilled all over in itself. I could only imagine living like that. The balcony had fairy lights which looked like shimmering stars in the night sky and they were there also because Kapura could recognize them from afar. I was sitting in the balcony and was sipping on coffee in the midnight and was reading the books that Kapura gave me of his village from ancient times. It was indeed a dream. I couldn't think of an better way to live. I was so drowned into myself. And something flashed in the far corner of my eye; an extra bright star which was travelling right at me. I got up to face the humongous star and seconds later I couldn't even open my eyes due to the bright light, seemed like I would go blind soon. Then suddenly there was no light at all; there was Kapura in his human form floating right in front of me. He was glowing all over. His bare chest showed his tender abs and biceps and he looked so strong.
"How can I make my lady smile?"
His voice had deepness! Anyone could drown in the deep voice of his. He already did make me smile after saying whatever he did. He extended his hand out to me. I got forward to hold hands and then she woke me up! My mother woke me up when I was living my life to the best. I couldn't even blame her because she didn't know that I was so tired of studying from last night and she didn't know that I was with an ancient wizard prince who was in love with me.
It was just a dream anyway! Deep down, I myself knew that nothing of that sort can happen! I mean there doesn't even exist a 10 feet tall eagle, let alone exist a wizard prince who is that eagle.
I woke up from my world of fantasy and went straight to take a bath. According to our adults, my life was at the most crucial stage because I was giving my board exams. 12th board exams, to be precise. Actually it was a life determining moment. That time was to decide my whole career. After all I was a science student who have to study at least 13 hours a day to crack NEET and get a government seat to do MBBS. And what made it worse that I was from an orthodox family who thought that once you get into biology then there is no way out. Once you enter then you have to become a doctor and come out. Nothing else is acceptable. And being a writer and just being in fiction was a thing which just losers do!
It was my life! I desperately wanted to become a writer but how could I become a writer when I had loads of physics and biology to study.
I was sitting there to study. That time I had a new book of physics to solve. God knows what motivation my teachers used to get that they gave me that book! Its still untouched!
I got up from my room to get some air and I clashed into my father who was watching news channels as always. I didn't want to stop by but the news caught my eye!
And there it was the first time that I ever heard of corona! The news had exaggerated the whole thing. And I for sure knew that it was all a lie. There was some lady who was with her brother who was infected and had nose bleeding all over. That news was of course a lie. The news even said that the infected person had a lot of internal bleeding and his eyes were also crying tears of blood! Could someone please explain the news broadcasters that the condition would have killed the person in seconds? I don't even know what my father was watching in the middle of the day!
But I was actually curious about the virus which had entered the ecosystem! What if it really was a zombie producing virus which was sent by Kapura's world to finish off the human population? Anything can be possible in a world like this, right?
And it actually was a real virus and actual people were infected from it! The corona virus which had infected people in china. That actually didn't scare me because my father had said that the virus has zero chances of coming out of china!
And the worst thing of all was that students like me are not allowed to get too much into the outer world! We should just study and be focused on cracking NEET! That studious factor still breaks my heart.
