Chapter 5 - RONNIE

With the lights back on, the house now looked more like a chicken coop. Strewn cushion insides and overturned tables and chairs lay all over. Three unconscious bodies also lay distantly. They had to get away from this place, very soon police officers would storm inside.

Looking at the clothes the men wore, though they were not suits, the tight fitting black clothes still had an emblem of the red rose. As expected, it was them again. This meant that police weren't the only people who would arrive but also the Red Dove group, just to see if the job was well done.

In her mind, Gia had the perfect place to run to. Sean's injuries had completely reopened soaking his clothes a frightening shade of red. Topped with the fright he had just received, he looked like he would pass out at any moment. Grabbing a few things, They had to dash out quiet quickly.

It was past midnight and getting a cab would be difficult so they had to walk. Sean talked all the way, it looked like he had gotten over his initial fear. Gia noticed that his English had a slight accent that's when she realized that it was only the name of this guy that she knew, nothing else at all. Their meeting was really rushed and he also did not reveal more.

Gia was not someone who pried truths out of people. If he doesn't want to speak, just let him be. A few detours later, they arrived at an apartment. It was quite posh. The door was fingerprint locked and it surprised Sean so much that Gia's fingerprint worked. The space inside was quite big and only a computer stand stood in the middle.

The owner seemed not to be here but at that moment something crashed down, turning, it was actually a person. He was not very tall and had exquisite features. If it was not for the big nerd glasses he had on, extremely handsome would be the word to describe him. His mannerisms were sloppy, sitting down he resembled a child more.

It looked like he was a bit shocked. After all if a man who was drenched in both sweat and blood and a woman who did not look too good either showed up at your house in the middle of the night, uninvited, you would feel frightened too.

"Hey Ronnie...want some help down there?" This was Gia's greeting. In her words, she offered to help but looking at her, she hadn't the slightest intention of helping.

Sean looked between the two of them astonished. If one looked closely, after Gia talked, Ronnie's cheeks were dyed a light pink shade. He was obviously blushing. If only words made him react like this, what about staying a single minute, wouldn't the result be disastrous?

Ronnie stood up quickly and awkwardly, almost knocking off the vase stand. His movements were so funny that were it not for his injuries, Sean would have really burst out in laughter so he just stood and watched in amusement instead.

When both of them had settled down, patching up the Sean's injuries was the first priority. Gia wanted to do it but Ronnie loudly exclaimed that he was an expert. Even a blind person would know that he just did not want Gia's hands to come into contact with another man's body. Sean on the other hand decided to be a mischievous little self. He refused the treatment and would only have it if Gia herself did it.

It was extremely childish. Ronnie looked at him with hard eyes, if looks could kill, They now had a showdown, each staring intently at the other. If Gia was not here, Ronnie would have really beaten him to pulp. In a strange way, Ronnie felt his privacy being invaded. He was the only friend Gia had so seeing her breaking into his apartment with another man in the middle of the night, he felt rather salty.

"If you don't let him, you can just bleed to death then" Clear and precise, Gia gave her stance. Ronnie felt incredibly satisfied while Sean was the one to start feeling sour. While treating the wounds, he pocked around so much that it looked like he wanted to give him more injuries. With each poke, he seemed to be saying, This is my territory, back off satan.

When the fiasco had ended, it was time for serious business. They held a simple conversation but it turned grave as it continued.

Ronnie had been given the task to look into the organization that attacked Sean the other day. Telling him about the attack that happened earlier, he almost flew out of his seat. The information Ronnie gave was quite comprehensive.

The Red Dove was a symbol used back in the 80s by an organization that dealt with chemicals and the making bio weapons but they strangely disappeared around beginning of the new century. No one knew what happened to them or where they went. They just simply vanished. Their actions became more and more low key as time went by. For a company that produced bio weapons that were even certified by the government, how did they end up disappearing. At that time there was a lot of buzz about this new weapon they were making that would blow peoples mind off.

This invention was highly publicized but a few days before the launch the data disappeared without a trace.

Ronnie dug deeper and found out that even though the Red Dove looked extinct, there was something fishy going on with their former leader.

This information was just too much to handle. Gia felt that the death of her parents had a lot to do with the disappearance of the data but looking at Sean who was lost into thought, she could not help but wonder, Just what was it that he had that made the group come after him.

If the Red Dove was truly extinct like the information suggested, just what was it that led the tiger out of it's lair?
