Connor was annoyed. Not only had Cody locked his room and window last night, but he also stayed in his room all day. He wouldn't tell Connor any more about the strange group of dead people. Did he not trust him? Well he could see his point if he didn't. His current list of achievements included: blackmail, harassment, arguably unwelcomed contact, and several others.
He sighed. There were only three of the Alayas still living here. They had several tenets which Cody was now part of as well. Kyle was working on some project and his uncle Mike was away for the day. Connor was bored and he wanted to see Cody.
He grumbled sitting in his room which was one down from the one he gave Cody. Not seeing Cody for a day was so boring! It was even a Saturday. It's not like Cody had homework either. He was in the same class so no excuses!
He tried to remember all of what had been said the other day. He drew a blank on everything but boss Yammado.
"You want anything to eat?" he called to Cody's door.
"No" came a reply.
He grumbled again. One word answers, that was when he even got an answer. Darn looks like he'd have to plan an apology of some sort. If only he could figure out what Cody was ticked off about.
Connor's stomach protested and he sighed. He would have to figure it out later. For now what did he want for lunch? He started fixing himself a sandwich in the kitchen, a perfectly delicious tomato and turkey one. He brought it over to the living room to eat. Maybe if he climbed up to Cody's window and showed him the delicious sandwich he would come out. Or he might just close his curtains.
Contemplating his dilemma he looked out at the trees dancing in the light breeze. Why were they so happy while he must suffer his true love's temper.
What he wasn't expecting to see was Cody's figure suddenly climbing down from the roof. What he couldn't even manage to use a door and see Connor once? Feeling insulted but also curious he followed Cody as he moved away.
He was good, Connor almost lost him twice as he followed through the city. Cody finally stopped at a torn up building pausing for a second to look around then slipping inside. Should he follow? Connor debated for a few then slipped in after him.
Cody had a man pinned to a wall with a knife against his throat. Connor heart skipped a beat as he slipped behind a pillar. Cody looked so scary. Connor had only seen his more cute side before, but a murderous side? This was definitely new.
"I'll ask again, don't make me ask three times or I might lose my patience." Cody growled in a low voice that didn't sound at all like the Cody Connor knew. "Where is Yammado? He and I have some unfinished business."
The guy Cody had trapped was shaking all over. "I really don't know, please I can help you find out, I swear!" Cody seemed to contemplate the idea.
"You lie I can guarantee your death." He growled releasing the man.
"Joke's on you!" yelled the man stabbing his leg with a syringe full of dark black and red liquid.
"And you picked death without me even having to bother." Sighed Cody. "That's a fire type needle and earlier you said you were a water type."
The man's eyes froze in horror as he looked down at the needle. It hardly took 10 seconds for him to collapse from the dark element he created in himself.
Cody pulled out his phone and seemed to text someone. Connor made a mental note to get a hold of his phone later. Cody looked down at the guy and muttered to himself "One down." As he pulled out a small notebook.
He looked at the body of the dead man and asked "How many are going to be stupid enough like you before I catch your boss's attention?"
Cody then left the building and went somewhere else. This time Connor didn't follow he was to shocked by the sudden mood swing of Cody. He sat down on the floor of the abandon building for a few minutes. Graffiti lined the walls. Abandon buildings were pretty common nowadays.
After a solid hour he picked himself up and walked back home. He didn't try to find Cody that night and instead stayed in his room doing some thinking. He sat in the corner on the floor thinking it over. Was Cody actually dangerous. Did that matter, if he couldn't love all sides of him then… his thoughts trailed off.
He suddenly stood up. What he needed was more information. Cody probably had plenty of good explanations. He paused half wanting to ask and half scared to. What if Cody just brushed him off again?
Well no use wondering about what could happen. Only one way to find out! He would tail him again next time he left and bother him right before he took down another person. Now just to set another tracker. He watched Cody's room till he came out for a moment. And jump hugged him.
"You're beautiful." He murmured in Cody's ear as Cody gave him a surprised look.
"You are like a walking list of romantic pickup lines." Muttered Cody back. He then brushed past him and went down the hall. He didn't notice the piece of ice magic hanging on the back of his jacket.
Perfect! Thought Connor. Okay let's find out what you are up to even if you don't want to tell me about it. I refuse to be left out of the loop.
