Connor had taken to sleeping next to Cody at night. Cody was still mostly unconscious only waking up occasionally for brief periods of time.
The first two nights he had a fever of 104 F. Tonight it was 103. Connor felt more relaxed. The temperature seemed to him like proof that Cody was actually getting better. Just someone saying he'd be okay, wasn't enough to calm his entire mind. He'd barely slept over the past two days. He curled up around Cody's small form. He loved the way he smelled. He was never going to let Cody go again….ever! The fact that he had even considered if Cody was some cold hearted person made his gut clench. Nope Cody was his now, forever. Didn't matter what anyone else said, he wouldn't stop trying to be Cody's boyfriend.
He closed his eyes content with just feeling the slight rise and fall of Cody's chest. When he slept this way he could often even hear his heart beat. A perfect night. Sleep overcame him easily.
The next morning he rose with a slight yawn and checked Cody over. Then he slipped out for some quick food. He felt bad if he ate in Cody's room since Cody was currently on a water and broth diet. It had to be terrible if you woke to the smell of food and couldn't eat it. Granted he probably didn't feel like eating, but just in case.
When he slipped back into the room. Cody was still sleeping quietly. Connor lay on the bed next to him. He was content with just staring at him for hours. So freakin cute! He reached up gently pushing some of his hair off his face.
Cody's eyelids flickered and opened. "Morning." He mumbled. Connor felt his heart skip a beat. What luck Cody was still amazingly cute when awake. He loved his blue eyes. They were like a rolling ocean, or a deep pond in the back of a forest oasis. Connor wondered how much Cody would shred him alive if he told him that to his face.
"Good morning beautiful." He smiled. Cody rolled his eyes slightly. He still wasn't moving around a lot. "What can I do for you? Hungry? Back massage? Good morning kiss? Personally I'd love if you chose the kiss option." Connor smirked.
"I'm fine." Muttered Cody with a slightly amused look. Success! Thought Connor, what he really wanted was to see that slight smile of Cody's. He's finally starting to get his attitude back. Oh he's so cute. Connor wanted to grab him and kiss every inch of him. It took all his will power to hold back.
"Well you have to eat something." Replied Connor. He left the room and returned with some chicken noodle soup, except it was practically broth. "Here open up." Connor picked up a spoonful and held it up to Cody's mouth.
"I'm not five" muttered Cody.
"If I let you do it, you might spill it all over." Replied Connor. Trying to look innocent. He totally didn't want to spoon feed him just for fun. Nope not at all...…
"Should I make it into a choo-choo train? Or maybe an airplane?" Connor asked.
"That's embarrassing." Grumbled Cody. "Again I'm not five!"
"But it's only us," said Connor. "Only I would even know."
"Not happening." Cody sent Connor a glare from the side of his eye.
"Okay fine, just let me normally feed you then." Said Connor.
"Looks like I'm not getting food if I don't. Although seeing how you are forcing me to eat anyway I guess I should say you won't let me sleep till I let you feed me." Growled Cody. Connor smirked as Cody's hunger seemed to win him over and he let Connor feed him. Well he hadn't really eaten in several days so of course he was hungry. Connor picked up another spoon full and held it out to Cody. Nope he wasn't enjoying this at all!
Once the bowl was empty Connor couldn't help feeling sad. Too bad Cody didn't want anymore. Connor could have spoon fed him all day. Cody hadn't talked much when he was awake.
"Do you miss your ice element?" Connor asked. Losing your magic even a second element had to feel terrible.
"Honestly no." Replied Cody. "I could never use it fully and now that I don't have to keep them separate its way easier to use all aspects of the bright element." He held up his hand forming a little light show with his Majikku.
"Hey no magic, you are supposed to be resting!" said Connor.
"Aye, aye, you let me rest much more I'll turn into a statue." He muttered back.
Cody had been awake about 45 minutes before he ended up falling back asleep. Connor checked his temperature again. 102, even better than before!
Cody turned over slightly in his sleep so that he was facing Connor. A strand of his hair fell slightly over his face and Connor brushed it aside. He even loved constantly brushing his hair out of his eyes. If he wanted to roll around more in his sleep Connor would have no complaints.
Connor leaned over and kissed Cody's forehead. "Good morning" he whispered.
