Chapter 7 - Witch's Report #1: Onward to Truman Farm

The beam of the sun broke through the leaves of trees surrounding Allen and Lily. The campfire had gone out, and Allen immediately opened his eyes and looked around his surroundings. He noticed Lily was deep into the spell book that was inside the large bag. Allen rose to his feet and walked to a nearby tree. It was adjacent to Lily, who upon passing her she took a glance over to him, she jumped in surprise, then went back to reading.

Allen reached the tree, yawning, he pulled his pants all the way down and began taking a leak. Meanwhile, beyond the trees and across from the river, two women sat atop a tree's branches. The women were dressed in black robes and wore a pointy witch's hat. One of the women looked through her hands like they were binoculars. As she looked through it her hands were glowed a fine half transparent white. "Irene, wake up! The boy is awake."

Irene, the other woman, sat on a branch that was higher than the other woman's. She was snacking on berries while her partner started giggling. "Irene, the boy has a pretty d-"

"Focus Lea," Irene said as she chewed on wild berries and emptied her hands.

"Sorry, Irene," Lea had stopped her giggling all together. Lea continued to look through her hands, drooling, before dropping it. "Irene, what did you write in that letter."

"I told you to focus," Irene said as she took her hat off to wipe sweat from her forehead. She laid her hat on her lap, as she swung her legs and stretched her arms back.

"If you aren't going to tell me, then can I just read your mind," Lea asked as she swung her body upward to stand on the branch. She walked toward to the tree, putting one of her feet on the tree. She then leaned forward, and looked up at Irene, folding her hands together like a beggar. Her blue eyes grew as big as a puppy, her lips quivering, and head tilted enough up to make her witch hat fall slightly off her head.

As her pink hair fell victim to gravity and flowed out from under her witch hat, Irene responded coldly. "No."

"But why!"

"You're a bitch."

"Bitch!" She took her foot off of the tree and walked backwards with her arms up as though she was throwing something. "A bitch! That hurts me! Right in the heart Irene." She spun, and went back into her original position. She then quickly turned back around, with her hands in a shape that pretended as though a neck was between it. However when she turned around Irene's toned legs were in her face.

She started drooling a bit as she slowly looked up Irene's plated skirt. "You pervert." She backed her face off from her legs, but continued looking up. She saw Irene's cold expression appearing past her protruding breasts. "Irene, my beloved. I didn't mean to disrespect you in any-"

"Can you go back to focusing on them please. You wouldn't want the coven learning of their new perverted prodigy."

Lea turned around, she began her chant, "The fairest of gods bless me with sight, allow my senses to reach the heavens. Far sight!" Her hands glowed as she looked through them like binoculars. She took a few seconds to locate them, as her sight went past the river, past the trees and even beyond. "Ah they're on the move."

"What?" Allen asked as Lily packed up all their things in the large bag. "You don't understand Allen. We have to move as quickly as we can. The very fact that my sister is after us means that we are practically done for."

"Can you slow down," Allen asks as he yawns, "What are you even talking about? Weren't you supposed to talk to your sister at the river?"

"There's been a change of plans," Lily says as she circles around the burnt out campfire. "Lead the way to the farm."

Lily stopped in her tracks, tapping her foot as she waited for Allen to respond. "Grab hold," he said as he gestured her to climb onto his back. She rushed to him as quickly as she could, she attempted to climb onto his back, but failed. She fell to the ground awkwardly. As she laid on her back, laughter erupted from Allen. "How long did you sleep last night?"

"I didn't," Lily yells as she begins thrashing around the dirt floor.

"Come on," he extended his hand out to her, she pouted as she grabbed it and climbed on his back. She hugged him tight, as he picked up the large bag and began running toward the direction of the farm.

"So what exactly happened?"

"My sister came to me after you fell asleep and told me that the coven is coming after you."

"Is it for the dragonborn?"

"Bingo! I thought about this all night. They are sure to kill you, they think that you killed the dragonborn. They don't know it was an accident, and I promise you witches do not care if it is an accident or not."

"What the hell even are witches?"

"You don't know? They're a branch of our military. A unit filled with skilled magicians. They answer directly to the queen," she yawned.

"Just go to sleep. I'll protect you."

"Protect me? I don't need protecting. I'm not Lily the protector for nothing," Lily slurred her words as she began snoring.

Allen sighed as he started picking up speed, whispering to himself, "At least she's easier to handle than the other kids at the farm."

As he ran, Lea tried to keep her eyes on him, but with every step forward he took; he vanished from her sight. "He's too fast! This guy has some kind of body enhancement spell."

"On his application he has no history of learning anything magic related. No mana application. No magic spells."

"Then this must be his magical ability."

"Thieves thirst; did you see him eat anything?"

"Nope," Lea says as she stands up

"When was the last time he ate a creature with magic?"

"We should honestly ask what was the last thing he ate," Lea said emphasizing the what. "Irene, my beloved, teleport us to a better spot please."

"How far," Irene said as she took a small notebook out of her pocket.

"I think 100 miles from here would be fine. We'll get some distance on them, and I can take a rest."

"Is our little prodigy losing mana," Irene smirked as her hand glowed a fine transparent white while she opened the notebook. She flipped to a page in the notebook with words that formed a small paragraph. After a second the words began glowing the same color as Irene's hands.

"I need to sleep! Even prodigies get tired! I'm not like you old heads and your pool of mana." Lea grudgingly stomped her way to Irene and grabbed a hold of her. As she held her tight Irene gauged the area around them.

"I don't have a very large pool now. At some point, I need to sleep."

"Then doesn't that mean you'll have to stop teleporting away those scary beasts."

"I'm sure they'll be fine. Besides, the coven asked us to figure out the extent of his ability. I have a plan for that." Lea felt shivers go down her back as she saw Irene's misty void widen along with her smirk.
