Chapter 11 - The Truman Incident Part 1

The following are the detailed unfiltered accounts of eye witnesses, bystanders, and accomplices to the heinous acts done on the Truman Farm to its inhabitants.

On July 13th, 924 years after the death of the first dragon at approximately 5:48 in the morning Allen Z. Truman and Lily Merlin arrived at the Truman Farm gates. To greet them was a silver haired slave of medium height, they were shorter than Allen, but taller than Lily. They wore a brown corset over their beige gown. Their hair was a few inches past their shoulder's, they wore messy bangs that slightly covered their eyes. Once they noticed the two at around 5:49 in the morning, they shouted out to them as they opened the gates.

"Ally!" Despite the gown making it hard for them to run, they ran with ease and swiftness towards Allen, who had lifted and opened his arms. Lily who stood next to him step to the side as she pinched her nose. "Why haven't you-"

"Ally! You made it back," they said as they jumped into Allen's arms and embraced him tightly. "Spin me, spin me."

Allen smirked and chuckled, "sure Sylver," he began spinning them around, their legs dangled in the air as they and Allen both laughed. Sylver also managed to hit Lily before being put down by Allen.

"Ow, can you apologize to me, you just hit me," Lily would say to Sylver who would look back at her with eyes as deep, dark, and void of light as a starless night sky. "What the fuck are you," Sylver's condescending voice echoed through Lily's ears. The sound of their voice bounced off the inner walls of Lily's mind which brought back a memory from the two week journey with Allen. She froze up.

"Ally who is she?"

"She's Princess Lily of the Merlin kingdom."

"A princess? What exactly did you do while you were gone?"

"I became a hunter, look at this," Allen extended his arm and opened his hand in front of him. His hunter pass appeared floating above his hand. Sylver stared at it in wonder and awe, "Allen, you're amazing."

As Allen made his hunter pass disappear Sylver looked at the frozen Lily, "I'm sorry for saying that to you Princess, please forgive me. Follow me to our baths, you must be tired and stinky."

Sylver took a few steps toward the gate, turned around to signal them to follow, turned back around, then walked further into the farm. Allen grabbed Lily's hand, he felt it shaking and firmly held it. "Don't worry Lily, he won't kill you. He isn't like that," Allen and Lily began walking into the Truman Farm at approximately 5:52 in the morning.

Meanwhile, Lea Sweet and Irene Merlin arrived atop a tree near the gates. They were perfectly hidden in the trees, as they both watched the farm with their far sight.

"Do you think that Harry guy will actually let Allen be emancipated," Lea asked as she watched Allen and Lily get directed to the baths.

"Do you know who Sir Harry Truman is," Irene responded with as she looked around the farm for any sign of slave work. She had seen nothing, no one was out working.

"Not really... Big time insect hunter like 30 or so years ago. Suddenly retired to inherit his father's farm. I read his profile, I got the gist of it all."

"You don't seem to understand. Have you ever met him?"

"No. I'm the cute little prodigy rookie witch. I'm not old enough to deal with any of the major Merlin farms."

"Can you stop calling yourself that."

"Stop calling myself what, Irene?"

"Cute little prodigy rookie witch. It's not gonna catch on."

"Is it? Say it again. What am I?"

"I'm not going through this again."

"Say it. Say it, or I'll tell the coven you're making romantic advances on me during missions," Lea had a nasty smirk across her face.

"You finally learn the rules and you using for your little perverted games," Irene mumbled as she watched Allen go into the male labeled bath and Lily go into the female labeled bath. "I'm waiting," Lea playfully enunciates her words.

"Shut up and focus!" Irene yelled, "It's six in the morning, can we do this later."

Lea's whole body shook, as she reserved herself whispering, "I'm sorry."

At 6 in the morning, Allen and Sylver engaged in a conversation in the male baths. Allen was naked as Sylver watched him bathe. "You fought 6 unicorns," Sylver excitedly said with disbelief behind a smile, "I didn't even know you had a fire magical ability."

"Mhm. After the fight I told Lily how I discovered my ability, and for some reason she was so understanding and even helped me improve by teaching me a bit of mana application."

"How'd you discover your ability?"

"Well, whatever I eat I gain the ability of and I ate the dragonborn."

"What? So father was right after all."

"What are you talking about? What did master say?"

"Ally, he got your papers from the Guild and your payment. I've never seen him that mad in a while. He stopped whipping everyone."

"He stopped?"

"He even lessened our work. Let us sleep in, play games, have fun. I thought he was letting us all become free since you left. I was foolish. That wasn't freedom at all. He watched over us like a hawk. Ally, let me ask you something."

"What is it?"

"Do you feel free being a Hunter?"

Allen stayed silent, as he grabbed his towel and covered himself. "That's fine Ally you don't have to answer now. I've discovered a new form of freedom anyway."

Sylver was in a sitting position during the conversation, he got up as Allen turned off the shower head. "I think the princess is also done with her shower. I'll grab some clothes for her. You should probably meet with father first. I'll direct her to his office afterward."

At 6:24 in the morning, Allen had made his way into the manor of the farm. Around the same time Sylver was directing Lily toward the cabins that all the other slaves slept in.

"Princess, what do you think about Allen?"

"What do I think? Well I don't really know how he grew up, but he has some serious problems. His moral compass is broken, and I think I barely got him to understand what that is on the way here. He's strong and determined, and he's quite honest, honestly."

Silence rose between them. With each step they took however Lily's mind got louder. 'Did I say something wrong? Oh my goodness. Please! Don't let this be my end. What kind of magic spells do I have to combat against him. Him? Her? I don't even know. Allen keeps switching it up every time I talk to him. Where is Allen anyway. I swear we left around the same time. I should at least see the manor by now. All I've seen are trees, gardens, empty fields of plants. Some hill with a freaky looking tree. What is that smell anyway? It kind of reminds me of the unicorns.'

The smell grew stronger as they approached the cabins, Lily covered her nose as she saw a cabin with an open door.

"Princess, do you think you are free as a Princess?"

"Yes, if you're bringing me to the other slaves just so I can gain sympathy to free you all. You don't have to. I plan on freeing every single one of you, or at least trying to negotiate for you all to get rights."

Sylver laughed. "That's the thing Princess," she said as she directed the Princess into the cabin. Lily hesitated, but entered remembering Allen's words. "You are good at understanding people right? So understand me here a bit." The putrid smell filled the air and Lily's nostrils. When the smell came to Sylver the aroma made her smile wide.

"What did you do," Lily said as she backed away from the cabin and fell to the ground quivering at the sight of a carved up body dressed in a maid outfit. The body was in the middle of the cabin faced down.

"Isn't it obvious. That bitch didn't tell me where Allen went. I hate this part of me, it reminds me of my father. I despise liars," Sylver walked up to Lily, she crouched down next to her face, they were adjacent to each other. She smiled, as her dark starless night sky eyes stared at Lily's glistening purple eyes. Despite the darkness to her eyes, Lily could see herself reflected off of them.

"So tell me- and be honest. Were you really going to free us all? Or were you just going to free my Ally?"

Lily stuttered, were words attempted to fly out of her just as much as she wanted to fly away from her situation. "I- I"

Meanwhile inside the manor at approximately 6:30 in the morning, Allen had walked through the manor towards Sir Harry Truman's office. As he did, the other slave children scuffed at his arrival.

"He's back?"

"Allen's back?"

"He's really back."

"His eyes look even scarier."

"Doesn't he look bigger?"

"Like he's been working out."

"He must have ate good while he was gone."

"You have no idea," Allen yelled at the children. They shut up quickly after returning back to their work of cleaning, eating, or playing.

Once Allen reached the doors of his master, he inhaled and exhaled. He tried to steady his heart, but his heart could not rest. The thought of failure pumped through his mind like blood to his heart. After a minute, he finally knocked on the door.

"Come in," a condescending voice boomed through the door. It bounced through to his heart and mind. He opened the door, the slave children outside watched him enter the room.

Sir Harry Truman was looking at a newspaper on the front page was a headliner that read, "Kingdom of Ra's new technology." He put down the newspaper and took a glance at Allen who stood there awkwardly. He sat there on his chair with a blank expression. He looked Allen up and down, as though he was analyzing him.

"Master, I-"

"Hunter, huh. Do you have some sort of pride now? You hunted a zebear, congratulations. Let me give you a hug."

Allen stood there, scratching his left arm with his right hand.

"Come on. Don't be shy now. We've been through a lot together."

Allen looked down, then slowly walked towards him. Each step felt heavy, as his regret and shame weighed him down.

"Look up, boy." Allen looked up, he saw Harry Truman sit there with a misleading smile. It went away quickly as he rose up from his chair, flexed his muscles, picked up the desk in front of him, then threw it at Allen.
