Allen ran for a couple hours before finally catching his breath. He stopped at a dense part of the forest. Lily hung off of his back, her legs wrapped around his torso, and her arms hung off of his shoulders. As her head rested on her arm, she snored like a sleeping giant and bear.
Gasping for air, Allen spoke to himself, "How far am I now? It's been a few hours at least." Allen looked around as he couldn't find anything near him. "Where is anything else."
*BLIP*
The sound of the cracking and shifting of trees exploded throughout the forest. A growling neigh came from behind Allen as he heard hooves crash against wood and dirt, "A zebear?" Allen turned around and saw the face of a zebear as it rushed toward him with its mouth opened. Allen quickly threw up the bag and his pupils became that of a snake. His right hand ignited as he swung his arm back, ready for the beast. However just before he could drive his fist into the beast, it disappeared.
Allen stood there in the same position, blinking his eyes as they returned to normal. His right hand lost its flames, as he looked for the bag.
"So Lea," Irene inquired as she closed her notebook and sat down next to Lea.
"Snake eyes and he had flames come out of his hand."
"Snake eyes. Flames. Hmm." Irene closed her eyes and put her hand to her chin. " If his ability is to borrow the power of creatures with magic.... If he's just borrowing a creature's magic, then he wouldn't have any transformation to his body."
"Maybe he gains their looks. Like if he ate you he would become a tall beautiful lady," Lea said as she continued to look through her hands. There was silence between the two of them, but Lea slowly lowered her hands as a lightbulb lit up in Irene's head.
"If he ate me would he gain my magical spells and mana application skills?"
"I wish I could eat you," Lea said with a frown on her face.
"Pervert," Irene said with an annoyed tone, "How much sleep do you need to read his mind?"
"At least 6 hours," Lea turned around with a serious face that screamed out "Please believe me!"
"6 hours? Have you seen how fast he ran in 2? It'll be hard to teleport away every creature that comes in their area while also keeping far sight up on them."
Lea crawled over to Irene, snuggling up on her lap and yawning. To Lea, Irene's thighs were pillows, the warm air around them, a blanket. "Then stop teleporting them. Waste of mana anyway. I don't want you getting mana exhaustion on our first assignment together."
Lea laid like a silent puppy on Irene's lap as she closed her eyes. Irene looked down at her, smiling, she began slowly caressing her pink hair. She inhaled then exhaled; losing her smile. She then opened up her notebook with one hand while she continued to pet Lea. She flipped through the pages until she got to a page filled with small phrases. She began reading the words, infusing mana into her silent chant. Her hands glowed a fine transparent white; as her misty void of ocular vision gave birth to a bright white sun.
With that she had casted far sight, her sun looking down on any and everything in her immediate vicinity. She saw wild cats, unicorns, and a plant that was eating a wild cat. "The unicorns are in a group of 6. Do you think Allen handle that?" Lea gave no answer. "I know you're still awake, you don't fall asleep that easily bitch."
Still there was silence.
"Whatever. Once I do this I need to recover mana," Irene said as she flipped through more pages.
Once Allen found the bag, he went off once more, he managed to recover enough to keep up the same pace he had before. He ran for a good 10 minutes before-
*BLIP*
A familiar sparkling neigh zoomed past him, but he continued to run. "Was that a-"
*BLIP*
A horned horse suddenly appeared flying toward Allen, as it flew he slowed down. It flew sideways spinning, his pupils changed into that of a snake as his heterochrome green and yellow eyes dimmed red. He attempted to push off his right foot; sparks flew from his foot as he pushed as hard as he could. However it was all in vain as the horned horse crashed into him.
It crashed into the bag first, the sound of bread mushing against cheese and the hard spell book failed to mask the screaming of the horned horse. Allen let go of the bag, as the force of the horse sent him flying. He attempted to maneuver himself to crash into any tree behind him with his shoulder.
"I need to protect the baby," he thought as he tried to get Lily off of his back. He desperately pushed her legs apart, but she resisted. She tightened her grip, and pushed against his face with her hands, "Nooo."
"You idiot. Wake up," He looked behind him and saw Lily gone, confused, he looked around for her, then crashed into a tree. The horned horse neighed with sparkles enhancing the cry. Allen recovered quickly and pushed the horned horse off of him. It went flying towards another tree, once it impacted against the tree a branch pierced through it. Blood rushed out of it, pooling toward the large bag that was on the ground between Allen's legs. He stood slouching forward, his hair drooped in front of him as a fierce demeanor overtook him. He left a dent in the tree, but he acted as though he barely felt the impact.
"Lily! Where'd you go," he frantically looked around while he heard the horned horse cry louder. "Oh, shut up! We all die, do it a little quieter unicorn."
He straightened his back and looked at the dying unicorn. 5 other unicorns emerged from behind the tree and circled their dying brethren. Allen watched as they all began crying out. They then began using their front hooves to dig around their dying brethren.
"Are you burying it? I didn't know you creatures actually knew respect." Allen watched for a few seconds before they managed to dig a hole from underneath their brethren. They then all punctured it and dragged it away from the branch. After a second of silence, the unicorns turned toward Allen, their eyes sharpened and they began stomping their hooves, slowly approaching Allen.
The leading one huffed, and began rushing at Allen. He lowered his body and widened his stance, he smiled, "I see, take your revenge. I hope you can understand fear." His right hand ignited as the leading unicorn charged at him horn first.
He swung his right arm back and waited, then right when it was in front of him it disappeared. Then reappeared next to him ramming its horn into his side. It pushed against Allen, then backed off with its horn detaching from its forehead. It slowly regrew as the other unicorns followed suit. They charged at Allen, as his he breathed in and out. Sparks flew from his feet as he pushed off of both of them to leap into the air.
He angled himself to jump over the 4 unicorns, which they all stop their charge and look up at him. While in the air, he grabbed the detached unicorn horn and pulled it out of him. He screamed as he covered the wound with his right hand. Once he landed he turned around and brought his hands up, igniting them both.
Two of the unicorns broke off from the group, going into opposite directions as they rushed Allen at his sides. The unicorn regenerating another horn joined the two unicorns that stayed at the same place. One of the two unicorns leaned its head forward and fired its horn at Allen.
Allen briskly tracked the unicorns with his eyes, they were like white streaks against a green and brown background of a painting. Despite this, he dodged towards his left side, the flying horn barely missing him. He rolled on the ground, by the time he was steady and crouched, he swung upward breaking the unicorn's horn. The unicorn charging from his left continued to gallop, knocking over Allen and stomping on him.
The unicorn continued to trample on Allen as the other unicorns circled around them. They slowly gained pace creating a small dust tornado around Allen. After a few seconds, the unicorn hopped off Allen and neighed, the sound of sparkles filled the air between the eye of the tornado. Allen rose to his feet quickly, bruises were all over his body, his nose bled as his previous puncture wound opened more.
The unicorn neighed again, spitting to the ground as it snorted and stomped its hooves. Allen laughed, "Last time you unicorns put a hole in my hand." He cracked his neck, and relaxed his body. He swung both of his arms forward, crossing his right hand over his left. He stomped his feet as he leaned his head forward.
"Why did I make this pose? My stomach feels like it's on fire."
Allen kept the same pose, his eyes never losing focus from the unicorn in front of him. Even when a horn came into the eye of the tornado and pierced Allen's left leg. He didn't flinch, but the unicorn in front of him jumped, and charged at him. Its eyes glowed white as its horn regenerated instantly. Allen uncrossed his hands, his hair swaying in the wind as he stepped back, and opened his arms.
He twisted his body to his right while swinging his right arm back. With both of his hands still ignited, he begun his swing. The flame in his right hand grew, as the unicorn got closer, and the flame in his left extinguished. He punched forward, when his arm became fully extended another horn was fired at him, piercing through his forearm. The moment it pierced him the flames in his right hand exploded forward.
It traveled a small distance before it made impact with the charging unicorn, who charged right through the fire and straight into Allen's body.
