Chapter 3 - Outburst

Adam was walking downstairs when he heard that Dame came to visit.

The Reid Family was a family friend. Their mothers were the best of friends and due to their friendship, their children also became childhood friends.

It was quite regular for both families to visit each other from time to time. Unfortunately, today was bad timing. Adam saw Dame's tall figure along with his bubbly younger sister, Caroline with someone he doesn't know the name.

"Hey, sorry about this. We had an emergency and everything was quite chaotic." Adam sighed and gestured that the both of them talk alone and went to the balcony.

"I don't mind," Dame replied smiling slightly.

Caroline and Francine sat at the couch and Adam called some maids to serve some snacks. Dame looked around the house and waited for Adam.

"By the way, Dame what brought you here?" Adam was not in the mood to entertain this friend of his. He wished he could get the autopsy done immediately. He will never believe that Allen just died like that. He… still has some things he wanted to say to Allen.

"Ah, that I saw Adrian running like crazy earlier and bumped into Francine." Dame pointed to the young lady who caused a fuss earlier in an exasperated manner.

"I don't think she'll let it go."

"Suspicious. Normally you ignore this kind of antics. What made you not do so?" This friend of his. Adam chuckled. Though not cold and aloof, he was not the kind of person who socializes with people. He is that 'cool elder brother with a shining halo' on him.

"Her dad is an investor and asked the father if we could show her around. She lived abroad and annoyingly spoiled."

Dame was quite drained. He had a full pack schedule but suddenly his father called him and forced him to become a tour guide. He is still the CEO of the entertainment industry you know. To become a tour guide to some investor's daughter that did not even invest in the company he is ruling, what a farce.

"That is quite generous of you. Then, what will you do? Based on your description of her she is willful. Just so you know, I don't have time for those kinds of people right now." Reminded of his current predicament. Adam, drained of energy listlessly sat in the chair and held his head. He did not know what to do.

Noticing his friend's dilemma, Dame got worried.

"What happened? Tell me."

"I don't know what to do." Adam was exhausted. He always appeared cold and strict towards his subordinates and somehow it became a behavior. After all, he had three younger siblings. Although, it was ineffective towards Allen as he was independent. He tried getting along with him but unfortunately, Allen changed. He became reclusive and hated him for the mistake he did when they were young.

When Allen was six years old, he and Allan who was at that time was five, got kidnapped. During the negotiation of the criminals, they asked for ransom. When the exchange happened Allen made sure that Allan was safe but unfortunately the criminals tried to shoot Allen. In sudden panic, his mother hugged him and took the bullet. His mother died in that incident.

As someone close to his mother he grieved so much and blamed Allen for her death. He started to ignore him. There was one time when Allan played in the balusters near the stairs of their home and got his head stuck in between them. Allen who happened to pass by helped him out but he who misunderstood the intention and thought that he was bullying Allan quickly pushed him off.

Allen was eight at that time and he was already sixteen. Given their sizes and strength, Allen was pushed back and fell off the stairs. He got a head injury and was in a coma for a month. He lost all of his memories and never acted like the same person after that.

He became reclusive and loathed being touched by anyone. He forgot about them. Including his mother who died for him. Instead of asking forgiveness for pushing him off the stairs. He hated him more.

Recollecting the things that he had done. He became even more remorseful. He wished he could go back in time and said sorry instead of hating his brother who does not even recognize himself.

"Dame, what to do? I should have said sorry. I should… I should've treated him better."

Dame felt a bad premonition. Adam was a tough man. He can handle tough situations. The most memorable was when he took over his father's company. Looking at him now though, he looked exhausted.

"Allen is gone."

Dame felt like being drenched in cold water. He doubted what he heard.

"What did you say?" Dame asked again trying to deny what he just heard.

"He's dead. It was so sudden. We even argued yesterday. Then now, he's gone!" Adam's voice was hoarse.

However, Dame's head was spinning. He could not fathom the piece of information that he got. He sprang up and pulled Adam's collar. Adam was caught surprised by his sudden outburst and the sudden shout that he got from Dame.

"What do you mean he's gone? Adam, I know how much you despise your brother and I did not confront you because it's your issue! But this?! It's not a funny joke! How on earth did he die?"

Adam was caught off guard. He did not expect Dame's reaction. His eyes turned bloodshot. His usually smiling face was distorted in anger. Is this his friend?

"What is with you? Why are so violent?! Let go!" Adam tried to push him off but dame held him firmly determined to find the answer.

"Adam! Where is he?! Tell me!" Their voices reached in the living room. Caroline and Francine hurriedly tried to break him off but the both of them started punching each other.

Adrian went down and heard their voice. He immediately rushed to separate the two. Which he did successfully.

Adrian who was restraining Dame shouted at him.

"Dame! Calm down! What's the matter with you?"

Dame struggled and frees himself from Adrian's restraint. He was strong and Adrian had no choice but to let him go.

"Brother, why did start fighting? Tell me!" Caroline asked his brother who was acting weirdly. Dame did not listen to her. Instead, he glared at Adam who wiping the blood that trickled at the side of his lips.

"Where is he?"

Adam though having doubts still answered. "He was sent for autopsy." Looking at Dame who completely went out of control.

"What's your relationship with him?" he looked at Dame suspiciously. "Surely, it's not just a younger brother, right?"

Dame stilled but then looked at Adam with a serious gaze.

"He's my lover."

Hearing that, everyone looked at him, surprised.
