I'm still on my bulging eyes staring at the sky after a scene that I can only imagine from reading books, grace my eyes. Oh my god, my mind won't settle. I've been born with a very active imagination. That might be the reason that I'm prone to anxiety.
My love for magical creatures skyrocketed the moment that thing flutter its wings and the glittering dust fall off to illuminate my eyes.
It is indeed a sight to behold.
Now that creature disappeared from my eyes when it transform back to its pathetic form and landed on the top of the building. Well, I really don't care about him after he transforms but there's this heavy feeling building up on my chest again.
I'm certain about my assumption of who's that creature, and what it's doing here.
Prying anymore at their family issues won't give me a long-term benefit, but I know that it can ease up this feeling right now.
I walked towards the building. I gently placed the bomb on the side of the building before continuing. But as soon as he sees me, the security guard, guarding the entrance grabbed me in the hand. I reacted by slipping it and clenching my other hand but there are too many guests that will witness it. I walked back a couple of steps.
"Sorry sir but you can't enter the building. You need to have a girlfriend in order to enter the building. Someone like you who has been living a poor, lonely, single life isn't allowed."
Hey, how can you say that I'm like that accurately? I only came here for a second and it's already making my muscles quiver.
"Can't we discuss this in any way? I'm willing to pay the right price."
"That is the strict rule of the hotel in order for us to never be involved in case a customer is cheating on his wife and make a scene here."
Whoa, this place is really considerate for trash men, another reason why this toxic society we have won't change. But if that is the rule in this place how come Luna was able to enter.
Don't tell me that they're exploiting her naivete, to make her as their...
I turn my flinty eyes back to the guard. I slapped him with all the cash in my wallet. But I never let go of the money. No way I will. The security guard holds his reddening cheeks as he glare at me.
But my intention wasn't to insult nor give him the sign that I have so much money.
Soon as he realizes what I'm implying, the wrinkles between his eyes disappeared.
"Wait I'm just going to discuss this with the manager."
She called out to the staff and asked her to get the manager.
That is just something I learned from a certain leader of the most dominant syndicate in the region. Their group is respected all over the region, that's why they are tough enough to slap anyone with money that they get from committing all manners of crime that they can think of. It serves as a sign of their superiority.
I'm not a member of that group but I do make transactions with them when I'm still a big shot. Even now I still have a connection to that group.
The staff returned immediately she says that the elevators aren't working. Not just that but the light on the stairs is out of order.
That's gonna be him. Finn wasn't just an idiot like he always acts, has confirmed it before. If Luna checked in one of the rooms, then cutting off the ways to escape is the very first thing he'll do.
But if Luna can fly just like him then it wouldn't be meaningless.
Did he forget to take this into account?
I walked away and observe the building from afar. Just as I did, a girl in her nightgown, tie up the bedsheets together and use them to slid down from the third floor.
She landed right before my eyes which made her hair sway upwards as the air make it float.
She breathed heavily. "I totally thought he's going to catch me. How did he know that I'm here?"
She muttered.
Her eyes widened the moment she shifted it in my direction. Both of us froze when our gaze connect with each other but goes back to being furious the moment she realized that it was me.
"You! It was you wasn't it?"
She approached me and grabbed the collar of my shirt. "After I did all that?! You still open that filthy mouth of yours and make me suffer!"
"You're too loud. Finn would really find you." I lifted her thumb to let me free from her hands.
I grabbed her hands and force her to walk with me. I stopped at the place where I leave my bombs at. She looked surprised but at the same time didn't ask me any questions. Was her instinct to tell her that I meant no harm?
No matter what it is, it's easier for me to move like this.
The first thing we should do is to make Luna go away where Finn won't find her.
"I thought that you might like her. But never thought that you would bring her in this kind of place so soon."
Someone talked at our back. Luna turned to face him.
"You... Who are you again?"
This girl. Even I could tell with my back turn.
"Siege. What are you doing."
"Nothing. Just spying on Luna by my sister's command. Only to realize how significant I was."
She said with gloom on his face.
Ms. Hera? Why would she be interested in Luna?
Siege bow down in front of us... or just on Luna.
"Forgive us for not recognizing you Princess Luna."
Princess? Luna is?
"That's fine, I could spare you for now."She said in a confident tone of voice, but at the same time, her expression stiffened.
I also have some weird feelings about it. Just Siege showing respect to someone other than her sister is creeping me out.
I pull Luna to my back. Though Siege and I were close our relationship is comparable to a cat and a dog. Well, obviously I'm the one that plays the role of a cat.
Ever since I always knew that his strength is something I won't reach. I can't even imagine myself beating him in a normal fight. But right now if he's one of them that likes to catch Luna I don't have any choice. This might be a great excuse to give him some bruises.
Since I'm the cat, I need to make the first move.
I threw one of the bombs at Siege soon as an explosion broke in I drag Luna and run. It might just be my imagination but I can feel her intense gaze as we run. An opening appeared on the smoke Siege who holds nothing earlier have a spear on his hand. He threw the spear towards us.
A cloud of golden dust surrounded the spear lowing it down until it finally lost its force. Even though the dust already stopped the spear. For some reason Luna still makes it explode.
We take the route at the back of the apartments and houses. We are just enough to fit in the narrow space between the houses.
A loud creak comes from the roof behind. When I turn back Siege was there leaping through the roof of the small houses. The neighborhood was shouting or even panicking about what that noises are. But it didn't stop him.
Man, he's fast. In just a second after I looked back he's almost in our backs.
"Why are we running?"
Luna on my back asked.
"We need to get away here as soon as we could. That guy must be in contact with your brother, it's only a matter of time before he came here. Also, his sister might be also helping him, unless you want to die horribly don't let her catch you."
She nodded. "I get it."
She says that but she let go of my hand. She turned around to put her hands together. First I thought she was planning to self-sacrifice but it's much worse than that.
The moment he realizes what this girl is up to. Siege turned around and tried to run away as fast as he can.
The place was filled with shining and sparkling dust. I grabbed Luna in the waist but I was too late. Like an atomic bomb just burst in front of us. We got fling to the side by the wind that came from it. I lost track of what was happening in the surrounding. We were covered with the woods and roofs of the houses around us. My ears were ringing and everything in my surrounding was in slow motion. I might lose my consciousness but I pushed myself to push the debris while keeping Luna in my hands.
After I got out. I froze while looking at the almost empty plane of the area that was earlier full of houses that it's almost choking me just by passing through. The land smoldered and melted like lava.
"A goddess of destruction?"
The girl behind this stood up and clench her fist in front of her. "Whew! That should do it!" She looked back at me. "Let's go." She started running.
I still can't bring myself to move.
All of this just to help her get away from her brother?
I'm still in a daze. Confused, guilty, especially when this particular scene reminds me of the dream that keeps on haunting me and never leaves my memory no matter what I do.
Something fell from the sky, it rolls towards me the moment it fell to the ground.
I can smell its burning flesh along with its blood dripping out of its cut-off neck. The eye of this unrecognizable head catches mine.
'Anzai... avenge us.'
I fall to the ground and feel my pounding heart.
