Among his more poorer decisions in life – Marcus decided to follow the man in the truck. He had gotten close to the truck and jumped and stuck to the back of the truck. It was like he was one of those suction cup decorations that you saw on trucks sometimes. A child usually put it there. He noticed that they had turned into a parking lot, it was a store, a Wal-Mart. From the outside it looked rather huge. He had watched the person get out of the truck, it was a duck and he was armed with a weapon. He watched the duck disappear into the Wal-Mart. He jumped off of the back of the truck and it felt good for his feet to finally hit solid ground. Just because he was a flying squirrel didnt mean he always liked flying. He wasn't even going to try and contact Snort. He was even further from home base. Then he heard a roar of another engine coming up behind of him and he couldnt believe who it was. It was Snort's Jeep. Which meant Snort had to be inside. He wanted to go inside of the store, he needed to see what was inside of the store and there could be possible allies in the store. He was a good scout and sometimes scouts had to follow the people they were scouting and he wasn't really scouting these people. He just decided to follow them, cause they might lead him to something interesting.
Snort had parked his jeep next to the other truck. It looked like it was some sort of Nissan or Toyota. It didnt matter the make or model. He opened the door and stepped out and immediately noticed Marcus. It was good to see him, but he saw that Marcus was anxious. It looked like he wanted to investigate the store. Sometimes Marcus could be such a child. Snort sighed and shook his head. It might be good to go investigate the store. They might need this place for supplies in the future and for once they couldnt hear the beasts in the sky. He had originally went out to find their home base. He then listened to his gut and went to go look for Marcus and he knew the area Marcus had been scouting in and he knew this store was here and the biggest place in Chicago. Sure, there were other Wal-Marts and SuperCenter Stores in the area. He just never came this way because he figured that it would have been hit already, the people scrambling cause there were monsters in the city and needing to grab everything. Just funny that the smaller stores got hit. If he was going to hit a store, he would of always went with the bigger ones. More stuff, more variety. Some people were just fucking stupid. It looked there was a group forming and maybe they were on board to fighting these creatures.
Marcus looked Snort. "As Scouter. I think we should investigate,"
Snort laughed – this was Marcus's typical energy and ironically, he thought it was a rather good idea and he gave Marcus a nod. Marcus clapped happily and jumped up onto Snort's shoulder. Snort walked towards the Wal-Mart and when they got to the sliding door that kept opening and closing. He took his fist and punched it. It stopped moving and he then grabbed the door and ripped it off and walked into the store. He started to walk around and then Marcus jumped off of the shoulder of Snort and began walking around himself. Snort shook his head. That Marcus was going to himself lost or squished. It didnt feel like there were that many people here. He didnt expect to find anyone in this place anyways. Snort was being cautious and he had his gun his hand as he walked through the store. He didnt want to get jumped by an chemical zombies or mutants. He let out a Snort and he watched for Marcus. It looked like he was only a few aisles over and that didnt really bother him at the moment. He stopped for a minute. He saw two people a few feet in front of him and they were talking. He was watching their body language and it looked they were friends. He didn't want to approach them. Hed act like the drill sergeant he was. Marcus flew from a few aisles over and landed on Snorts shoulder.
Marcus looked at Snort. "What they doing?"
Snort's eye looked at Marcus. "I dont know." His voice was at a whisper level and he continued to watch them. He was really surprised that the hedgehog didnt see him. Then he heard something roar outside and then all of them looked towards the entrance.
Snort gritted his teeth. "Im fucking stupid." He saw some shadows breaking into the store. They had to be the chemical zombies. He watched them walk towards him. Wait, they were not the chemical zombies. They looked like shadow people. They were fully black with red eyes. Akito walked up next to Snort.
Akito drew his gun. "Well, these are new." Akito started firing his gun and running towards the shadow people. The bullets out of Akito's pistol hit every shadow person and they went poof. When one died twenty more appeared and it looked like they were sitting ducks.
Snort pumped his shot gun and grabbed two shot gun shells off of his belt. "Shadow people? Chemical Zombies and we got a giant monster whatever flying above the city. " It was true, Chicago had become a hotbed for weird and unusual shit. Snort charged in towards the shadow people. Firing off his shot gun. Hitting as many shadow people as he could. Akito got more kills, because Snort was slow at reloading. When it seemed like they were out scott free. The full front half of the store filled up with more shadow people and Snort and Akito were on the front lines.
