The farms in Livington, Illinois were not doing so good. They were all dying and it was the strangest thing. A week ago, they were fine and that was before all the chemical zombies had showed up. A moose was sitting on a giant green tractor. He was wearing a pair of sunglasses and dressed in overalls, a red and black checkered flannel shirt and a pair of work boots. He called them shit kickers and his name was Jason and he was the owner and worker on this farm. Everything had gone to shit and he knew it was like that in other parts of the state. This was a pandemic and he knew that not many people were going to survive. He picked his teeth with a toothpick. He wanted to start up the tractor. What was the point? He would just waste gas. There wasnt a gas station for miles. He assumed that would be the first thing that would be ate up in this pandemic. A zombie pandemic. He laughed, it was like one of those Hollywood horror movies. All the surrounding houses were vacant and he knew some of them were occupied by squatters and when that house ran out of food and electricity, they would move onto another house and so on and on. He had an old 1980s Ford Pickup truck. You know the ones with the square metal bodies. Not the ones know a days that were made out of plastic. It was loaded down with his axes and hunting stuff. Guns. Mostly rifles and shotguns and a lot of Ammo.
Jason continued to pick his teeth. "Im not going to let this pandemic get me." He has lived in these woods for along time and knew how to get around without having to set foot on the main road. Back roads were always a little more fun. Cops barely went on the back roads and you could get away with a lot more. Plus the dirt roads felt really nice under his tires. He got up off of the tractor and walked over to the barn and right next to the barn was his truck. He leaned up against his truck and crossed his arms over his chest. He watched his dying fields. He didn't really want to abandon it. When all this shit was over, he could replant everything and bring shit back to life. That is what farmers did, they were like doctors but for plants and crops. He couldnt do anything right now and it kind of annoyed him. He should try and defend this area, in his mind this place was damned. Maybe if there were enough people in this small farm town to form some sort of militia. They might have a chance. Most everyone cleared out of the town at the first sight of trouble. They were cowards and he didnt like cowards. It didnt matter, this was his home. He would come back to it one day.

Back in Chicago, Amelia was still trying to get up the courage to make the jump. She revved the engine on the motorcycle again. She was trying to psych herself up. She took in a deep breathe and then hit the accelerator as hard as she could. It was now or never, she was either going to make the jump or die trying. The motorcycle went forward as fast as it could. It jumped over the bridge with ease. Amelias heart was racing fast. She landed on the other side of the bridge safely. She was in the middle of the road and the motorcycle was idling again as he looked back at the bridge she had just jumped over. Her heart was still racing and she needed to calm down. Good thing there was no nitro on the bike, her heart would have been really beating then. Now to get back to what she was doing. She needed to find that black mass again, she couldnt see it. She did have a feeling of dread though. So there had to be something nearby that was emitting negative energy. She did read that some paranormal beings could emit negative energy and make you feel a certain way. They must want her energy, well, tough-shit to them. She wasnt giving anyone her energy! Now if she just followed this feeling of negativity, she would find where the black mass went. She hit the accelerator on the motorcycle and like a rocket she was off again.
She didnt have to follow the negative feeling 'cause after she started off β the black mass was in the sky again. This made it easier for her, like the plan from before. She was just going to follow thee black mass and she did follow the black mass and it lead her to a parking lot. It was a Wal-Mart and when she pulled into the parking lot she looked towards the Wal-Mart and he eyes went wide. It was fully covered with that black mass and the black mass that she had followed got sucked up by the bigger black mass that was covering the Wal-Mart. The motors vibrations tickled her undercarriage a bit and got her a little too aroused, this was something that didnt need to happen right now. She continued to look at The Wal-Mart. There had to be people in there. She knew these things had to feed on energy. What was she going to do? It wasnt like she could just shoot through these things. Maybe she could cause some sort of distraction and these black masses would follow her and that would allow whomever was in the store to escape. That sounded like a great idea, she didnt want to put herself in danger though. She didnt feel like dieing today. Was there any other way? She didnt think so. She wasnt going to rush in with this plan. She wanted to see what was going to happen first.
