Damian had vanished into the back end of the store, he was in the sporting goods section and not too far from the electronics. He still thought if he could find something else that emitted energy, that these shadow people could suck it all up and maybe theyd all explode or something. Kinda like how when you eat too much, the inside of your stomach explodes. He also wondered what would happen if they just shut off the power to the store. Would they go away? Maybe they would just stick around until the power came back on. They were energy junkies. Maybe that could be their new names. He jumped behind one of the counters in the sporting good section. He needed to get behind there. He was looking for a key or something to open up the cases where the guns were. After a few minutes of searching, he found the key. It was laying next to the register. He wondered if the key would open up the register too. He jumped over the counter again and then he approached the cases full of guns and he unlocked it. The case was filled with rifles, a few shot guns and a few handguns. What was he going to put these in? He knew the camping stuff was an aisle over, he put the key in his pocket and ran an aisle over to where the camping stuff was. He looked through the stuff until he found a giant duffle-bag.
Now he had something to throw the guns and ammunition in. He wasn't making more the one trip and he then ran back to the gun cases. He threw all the guns into the duffle-bag along with all the boxes of ammunition. Now they could fully defend this place and he still had his shot gun and his boxes of shot gun shells. He had threw his shot gun back into his backpack. It was a sawed off shot gun, so it wasnt the size of a normal shotgun. That is why it fit into his backpack. He wondered if Marcus had found anything. He hasnt heard anything from the flying rodent, he probably forgot what he was doing or got into some sort of trouble. Marcus wasnt his problem. He just wanted to give him something to do so he wasnt bothering him. Yeah, he could be an asshole like that.
Damian grabbed the duffle bag with both of his hands. "The guys on the front line will get uses out of these." He would run, but the bag was happy and that is when Marcus landed on his shoulder. Why now? Marcus looked at Damian and smiled. "Doesnt look like anymore monsters are getting in. There is some weird sound coming from the delivery pick up area, by the bathrooms." Great, another thing for him to investigate. He is slowly being turned into the 'good look at this thing' person. Oh well, maybe it was useful. Now to get the weapons back to Snort and Akito.
----
Snort felt like he was shooting fish in a barrel and this time it wasnt fun and the fish kept on respawning. It seemed like for every group he killed, more would reappear. There had to be an easier way to get these things to leave them alone, he was going to run out of shot gun shells soon. Where was that duck when you needed him? If he could get to his truck, he knew he had more shot gun shells in his truck. There was no way in hell that these things were going to let him get to his truck. Thats like if you were in a war and you let the other side regroup and grab more weapons. That wasnt just stupid, that was fucking stupid. Dont let up against the enemy, give them everything you fucking got! That is how you win battles and wars. He wished the rest of his soldiers were here with him, they could help him more than these guys could. Snort looked over to Akito. "How ya holdin' up Hedgehog?" Snort could hear Akitos pistol go off a few more times and he then heard the bullet shells hit the ground. Inside of the store, the gun shots echoed like fireworks. Akito shrugged. "Im hanging in there." The hedgehog went back to firing away on the shadow people. Akitos bullet hit a shadow person, went right through it. The shadow person disappeared and then four more appeared in it's place.
Akito wasnt having a good time, that could be seen. He fired off round after round from his pistol. The shadow people would disappear and then more of them would appear. They were fighting creatures that could regenerate. Maybe when they shot and 'killed' one it just split into four more. Maybe after they were killed the new shadow people would be weaker. He didn't know, he just wanted them out of the store. They all appeared when the power in the store came back on and more people were in the store. These things were after their energy, he knew that. He wasnt giving up his life force to anyone! He needed to push on further and over come this. More gun shots could be heard, his bullets went through the shadow people and then they would hit the ground and this time it almost looked liked they were making headway. Snort and Akito were going to be out of ammunition soon. This time the shadow people did something that they havent done before. They enclosed Snort and Akito in a circle so they couldnt escape.
Akito shook his head. "This doesnt look good."
Snort shook his head too. "No shit, bub."
It felt like it was nighttime inside of the story, all Snort and Akito could see was darkness and they both had a very serious sense of dread. Was it the shadow people that was making them feel like this? It didnt look good for either of them right now.
