Jason had stopped at an old sporting good store in Livingston. He had parked his truck outside the store. It looked dead inside of the store, it looked like the building had been untouched by anyone. He got out of the truck and walked up to the store. He had a knife on his hip, it had a rather large blade on it. If there was anything in the store, he would be able to defend himself. He was just looking for supplies for the road. It might be just a sporting good store, but he was sure the owner probably stored food or other goods somewhere in the store. He approached the door to the store, he took his hand and pushed on the door. The door made a creaking sound as it opened. Yeah, that wasnt creepy at all. He walked into the store and found a light switch and turned the lights on. They came on and then started to flicker. Jason looked up at the flickering lights. "Great." He wasnt too impressed with what has happening. He heard something in the shadows, he grabbed the knife that was on his hip. He was going to be ready for anything. He was hoping it was just some little creature looking for food. He heard a snarl from the darkness. That is when he saw it. It looked like a chipmunk but it was the size of a German Sheppard. "Jesus." The chipmunk lunged at him and without thinking, he stabbed it in the throat. It hit the ground and began to bleed out and then it died.
Jason stared at the dead creature. "Im sure youre not gonna be the last weird creature I see." So was this a new world and that creature was apart of it? He needed to focus on what he had came here to do. Find more supplies. He walked through the sporting goods store and it looked like it had been picked through. Most of the weapons were gone, the snacks and drinks by the register were untouched. Someone was trying to get out of this place in a big hurry. They probably got cornered by one of those creatures and just ran out with whatever stuff that they had in their hands. He really didnt want to go into the back of the store. Those things might have a nest back there and he could be walking into a trap. He felt like this new world was nothing but a trap. Also, there could be something in the back that could help. He kept his guard up as he made his way into the back of the store. It was mostly camping gear and it was odd that it had been untouched. He didnt need this stuff and he had an arsenal in the back of his truck. He did grab a large backpack and walked around a little more. He found a large stash of MREs and threw them into the backpack and continued to browse what was left of the store.

The beings that were flying above the skyline of Chicago were Mothmen. There were three of them and they had been the cities protector for hundreds of years. One of the mothmen was perched on a skyscraper. This Mothmans name was Stravos and he felt like he was one of the strongest Mothmen in the city. He had noticed things going bump in the night so to speak. He had a human form as well and they were not supposed to use their human forms unless it was truly needed. He felt like it was needed, he has been seeing shadow people and chemical zombies all over the city. No one else has seen them, because everyone was apparently gone. He also noticed that there was an army-like-group by the subway station or in the subway station. Their hearing was superhuman. They could hear for miles. It was almost like Supermans Super Sonic hearing. He knew what was happening at the wal-mart, but is brothers wouldnt let him intervene. He didnt know why they wouldnt. Did they feel like these creatures lives were not worth it? Stravos sighed. "I dont know why Im so different." It was true, he was different than his brothers. He wanted to save the world and this city, he didnt know why the other two didnt. Should he go out on his own? He has thought about it before but never done it. He didnt want them to worry. He blinked and watched over the city.
Whenever they flapped their wings too fast they caused tsunamis or massive wind storms. Stravos closed his eyes. "Im sick of this form." With that he transformed into a human form. He had slick black hair, was dressed in a suit and had black pupils. He still sat on his perch above the city, but with a form like this. He could investigate if he wanted to. He looked down at the ground below, it looked like more of the zombies were destroying a building. He sighed as he watched them, he hated this. He stood up and his moth wings extended from his back and he flew to another building. It was closer to where the zombies were and he just watched them. Should he get involved? He felt like he should get involved but wasnt sure about.
Stravos starred at the zombies. "I know I could beat you all." Now, he wanted to figure out where these zombies had came from and why they were there. He looked up into the sky and he saw a black swarm flying towards the store. Another being he could probably beat. All that dark shadow energy. It wasnt good and it needed to be stopped and as Mothmen they werent allowed to intervene. They could warn people of impending doom but they couldnt actually help the human race fight these beings. It was stupid roles and he felt like he needed to rebel.
