Chereads / The Mortal God / Chapter 8 - Punishment

Chapter 8 - Punishment

Beau'Trian had managed to calm Irt'Vin and Yhew'Rena, although Ebijac mostly suspected is that they had cried the last of their tears. Confusion crossed over Zan'Iza and even Kin'Nis stayed silent.

However Ebijac felt no tension. He stretched after being released from Iranik's binding as though nothing had happened.

At that moment Sava'Sun entered the room without any clue of what had happened.

"Chil..."

Sava'Sun stopped mid sentence, reading the atmosphere. She saw the dried up tears on poor Irt'Vin and Yhew'Rena's faces. The gentle soothing of Beau'Trian, and an expression that said she is not all to convinced that everything is alright herself.

"My, what has happened here?"

Zan'Iza shook of as much as his confusion as he could.

"To be honest none of us are quite sure."

"Then explain it as best you can children."

Ebijac sighed and straightened himself out.

"I simply did as you asked, I told them why I despise the CPS."

"You could of kept it kid friendly you b*stard," Kin'Nis said.

Ebijac shrugged. After being alive for so long he learnt that what mortals consider appropriate and inappropriate a mere flaw. By the time Ebijac was a month old he had witnessed far more than the mortal could handle.

"You wanted the truth so I gave you the truth. I could elaborate farther if you like..."

"No!" all the orphans shouted out at the same time.

Sava'Sun pursed her lips.

"Settle down children. Go wash yourselves up for lunch. Quickly please, we do not want it to turn cold. As for Zan'Iza and Ty'Maign, I would like to speak with you for a second."

All the other orphans left and Zan'Iza came over and stood next to Ty'Maign.

"Ebijac, the emperor told us all about you. And frankly I am ashamed of your behavior. The Gods have set a task for you and you will do it. I will have to have the children's minds erased of all mention of you. From now on you will be Ty'Maign, and only Ty'Maign. Although Zan'Iza. I will not have your memory erased. Instead you will make sure that Ty'Maign stays Ty'Maign and not become Ebijac."

Sava'Sun became surrounded by a silver aura, which began to engulf the two boys.

"Ebijac, if you ever mention your previous life you will experience tremendous pain, and Zan'Iza will be alerted of it. It does pain me to do this, but it is the Gods favour. Now, that is all. Go wash yourselves up for lunch."

Ebijac felt a sinking feeling. Sava'Sun is not bluffing, he can feel the conjure attached to his life force. However Ebijac turned it into opportunity. There may be a way to remove the conjure, however it will take a lot of time with his mortal body. Sava'Sun is of high spirit stats after all.

But Ebijac stored the thought aside. He is hungry. Lunch is his primary objective for the time being.
