The energy plates flew towards the city, while Zaiden clung to the chief's calf tightly. The pressure of wind was immense during the moments they passed above the pit. The chief was relieved upon his resilient nature, they all landed on the grassy ground as the energy plate vanished. Zaiden had studied the energy beads he found from the female intruder back in human realm. But due to the 'new-ness' of the element or mana limited his knowledge.
Zaiden was now exposed to the source of such technology, the boy wanted to take advantage to learn their ways. The chief gestured him to follow as they entered in the glass honeycomb. A bright light blinded Zaiden for a few brief moments, as he adjusted to the surroundings soon. They all were inside a huge literally honeycomb, except that there was no honey in it.
'Oh my goodness, this really is a city!'
Zaiden exclaimed upon the sight, the interior of the whole structure had different floors in it. Every floor had elevators while the partition was done with the glass walls, however the glass wasn't translucent. The chief was satisfied with Zaiden's reaction, whereas the boy was struggling to swallow the sight.
'Are these monsters really capable of creating this miracle? But this whole thing is crazy, how are they even operating such stuff under the ground? And how the heck am I even breathing under tons of mud?'
Zaiden had a constant bombardment of questions in his mind, since the moment he commanded Anna and she sent him there. He doubted that the strange creatures were even having brains and skills to do something like that. The city, Hexaphere was literally the advanced technological hub. A place for tech nerds, although Zaiden could already sense that Hexaphere was rich in mana tech, something which wasn't available to the humans!
"Come with me, you have to meet the boss in order to use the teleportation beam."
The chief gestured Zaiden and they both headed towards an elevator. Everything around him amazed Zaiden, and the disclosure of teleportation beam was itself a miracle beyond humanity's reach. He felt mixed emotions in that moment, as much as Zaiden hated the vampires and wanted to go back home....the boy wanted to achieve the power!
"Is this whole place made of glass? I can sense some unnatural pressure of energy here."
Zaiden truthfully stated since the chief trusted him enough to bring him to the central core despite knowing he was a dhampir. The boy sneakily spouted in intentional display of careless manner, he had to show his trust by lowering the guard down. He noticed every possible thing which was stored in his prior knowledge, during his way up in the elevator he could see the sections present in the comb.
"Oh yes, this whole place is made up of mana. All of the structure you are seeing is just mana, since the surge is strong under ground that's why you are feeling the noticeable current."
The chief explained opening an opportunity for Zaiden to recover his loss for attunement level. He clearly recalled the ways of increasing the power level, however no doubt it was based on the physical, mental and emotional strength. Since the place had already been suppressing his emotions, thus Zaiden wanted to take advantage of the situation.
"If the mana current is stronger here, then why it's suppressing the emotional aspect?"
The blunt question took the chief by surprise and the observation amazed him. He didn't except a kid like him having sharp personality to evaluate stuff easily. It hadn't been more than an hour for him to be in the new place, and Zaiden' brain had already started to note down the things.
"There is a reason why this place is called a perfect balance, it's basically an utopian cave. You can find find everything in equilibrium here."
The elevator reached to some floor which Zaiden neglected, the conversation in that moment was intriguing. The chief took bigger steps while Zaiden had trouble in catching up with his humongous form. Despite the fact that their bodies shrank a little, their heights were still big for Zaiden.
"So, that means you guys must be powerful, right? If this place is perfect for training and enhances the basic techniques, then you people must have broken the average attunement level."
Zaiden went straight on the point and voiced out what he aimed to know. His statement made the chief question his decision of bringing Zaiden to the place.
"This place is good and a heaven possibly. But to reach this place and to obtain peace we have suffered a lot. It wasn't like this, we were sent here as a unit. The vampire realm was searching for mana source nearby the kingdoms, and we were sent here to mine it. But upon discovering the vile plans of the higher ups the miners decided to report falsely. Somehow the word got out and before we could go back to vampire realm, the malicious traitors bombed us."
Zaiden finally found the answer to his question, though he couldn't comprehend why would the chief tell him such confidential information. His identity as a dhampir was known to him, but for some unknown reason the chief trusted that Zaiden wouldn't say anything outside.
"We, in this current state are the mutated beasts now. And your assumption might or perhaps can be true in your case. But we all lost our vampiric traits with the survival, however luckily we were blessed by the mana here. The current Hexaphere you are witnessing today with its glorious features is our strength now."
