I didn't like the chances of us winning. We were in a snow-covered area where we could barely run. In this situation, with the intense cold and the cold-resistant Skrops, how do you reach the Temple of Past?
I had no idea. We already knew there was no way to escape. Oliver and Lily got out their weapons, Tortunem and Uniclaw. I grabbed Magnum whose white shining blade matched with the area a lot. It felt like a snow-themed fight.
The Skrops rushed to take us on. Their ugly faces made me whack two of them already. Oliver and Lily too, were taking out many of the foes. The Skrops were flying here and there. But the fact that they got up immediately as though nothing had happened was disturbing.
We progressed forward, still finding it difficult to walk. More Skrops joined in and behind, I could see an army arriving. "Whoa! This is turning out into a war. Any suggestions?" Oliver said. "Fight till the death. Good suggestion, right?" Lily said and marched forward.
I swept four to five Skrops together but they just kept coming back. "When will they die?!" I exclaimed. The Skrops had sharp claws which I wanted to avoid. But of course, right when I thought so, a Skrop managed to slash my gut. I wasn't happy with that. I yelled as I stroke, this time taking out most of the Skrops surrounding me.
The wound was deadly and I felt poison seeping in. My state was too bad to fight and I fell to my knees. The other two got worried, screaming my name. For a moment, my vision was blurring. But then, I heard Oliver's voice saying, "Their claws contain poison. It can kill Darknorians!" I thought, Thanks for cheering me up, buddy! Really appreciate that.
I struggled to grab Magnum but then noticed it lying far off from me. Then I heard it, Magnum's voice. "Blaze, get up! Bring out your true strength, magic!" Magnum's manly voice said in my ears. The blade was now shining even more. I couldn't understand what he meant by magic. I was fed up of seeing the shining light and got up to end it. I struggled to my feet and saw a Skrop rushing towards me, the one who poisoned me.
"You will pay for this, you ugly little worm!" I yelled as I opened my hands. I didn't understand why I did that but I raised my open right him. Without looking, I started closing my fist. That's when I felt some king of rubber grip. I had grabbed something. But what?
I looked at my hand to see Magnum, with all his glory. It had changed. It had blade on both sides, making it a double-axe. The red and golden color now shined on his blade with a black grip. The blade looked so sharp; I felt sympathy towards the Skrop because the next moment, I chopped his head off.
I had done a lot of things. I had chopped a tree, I had slashed some Darknorian guts, and I had even stricken a head. But chopping a Skrop's head! That was new.
Now I understood what Magnum was saying. A new evolution, with magical powers. I could now grab Magnum even if he wasn't close to me. Oliver and Lily were barely grabbing their weapons, staring at me in astonishment. I was shocked myself. Slowly coming to my senses, I had a wide smile on my face and got ready. I aimed at the crowd of Skrops and purposely threw Magnum, launching the sharp blade into their faces.
Many died, some were injured. Again, I made a fist and Magnum was in my hand, back! I had learnt magic. "Dude! Now I am scared of you. Are you a wizard?" Oliver exclaimed. Lily was too busy in shock to speak. "Fight now, think later!" I declared and started striking the Skrops. The two joined in as well. The Skrops now seemed to be easy to take on.
We rushed to the Temple in front of us, still killing some of the Skrops which survived. The enormous monument had two huge doors. They opened on their own as we reached. With the last Skrop dead, we jumped into the Temple of Past.
