Inside, the lighting system had been horrible and I could barely see anything.
One thing was sure. I could see hundreds of bones on the floor. "This may be the room after which none have proceeded." Lily said. She seemed to be right because of the skeletons lying on the ground. I tried not to walk over them as we continued to move in the area.
"So, another stupid maze?" Oliver demanded. Amanda shook her head and pointed up at something. In front of us were two huge doors which had something written on them. Amanda translated it and told us it said Final Test. "I hope it's not a written test." I murmured.
"Most people die here. None have passed through." The voice of the Temple of Past could be heard. We looked around but obviously didn't see a figure. The voice was the Temple itself. "A risky test." The voice stated. Suddenly, from the top a huge monster landed. It had a weapon on each hand and looked like it was made of metal. When it raised its head, we saw the metallic face it had. "This is the Guardian of the Temple. Many fought it but none survived. Can you?" The Temple of Past explained and immediately, the battle began.
The guardian ran so quick, we were barely able to unsheathe our weapons. The darkness was a problem as well. "Let's all attack together!" Oliver roared. Amanda stopped him before he could rush. "That's what the other warriors failed at. The guardian is too quick for all of us to stop it. Also it is made of metal-" She ducked to the guardians attack and dodged it. "-so we need to attack it individually so that it gets confused." Amanda finished.
That didn't seem the best plan after all the teamwork stuff we had heard but Amanda was smarter. Oliver nodded and Lily went to attack the guardian. The foe blocked both her daggers with one sword and stabbed her on the stomach with the other. "Now!" Amanda yelled to the already attacking Oliver. He jumped from behind and got a strike on its back. The sound of metals clashing was heard.
The Guardian didn't seem too affected by the hit as it started fighting Oliver. Lily came from behind and the guardian now had to fight two warriors at a time. Its quick movements made it easy for it to strike Oliver and Lily. Then I came into play. I jumped, and as I glided, with full force I went down with Magnum heating up on the guardian.
The guardian was pushed to its knees and then, something we weren't expecting happened. We all knew that Amanda had a cool-looking sword strapped to her waist. But the way she slashed her foe was incredible. Once totally lying on the ground, Amanda jumped on the guardian and did her signature move.
She raised her sword and tilting it so that its hilt faced the guardian. Then – yelling loudly – with full force, she thrust her sword into the guardian. The monster immediately died. We looked at Amanda in shock. "She can heal and fight!" Oliver said, clearly looking impressed.
"Amanda what is that sword of yours?!" Lily demanded to know. Amanda smiled and said, "My sword is called Blizzard. Dad and I worked on it a few months ago. It has a sharp blade and can be swift." Oliver came forward and showed off Tortunem. "Seems like you got a sword-friend, buddy!" Oliver joked, playing with his sword around Blizzard.
"Now about the test…" I said but didn't know what else to say. We had clearly won – the first ones to do so. The Temple of Past then announced, "Nice job beating the guardian. You people really are something. You have passed the final test. Now proceed forward and attain the prophecy which awaits you."
We all got excited as the two doors slowly opened. After all the hard work, we had finally reached the place of the real information. We entered the final room.
