Chapter 9 - The Wall Writings!

Well, that was sudden. We knew that Rock Flames had a wife, Kathy. But none of us expected to see his daughter.

"You are who?" Lily asked in amazement. The girl looked around, checking the room. "You would be the DELTAs father used to talk about… before he died." Her voice went low. I was still in shock to see Rock Flames daughter. "Wow! Rock Flames has such a beautiful daughter!" Oliver whispered, making sure Amanda couldn't hear.

"I know why you guys are here – to get the information about King Jalaar. He used to talk a lot about the King." Amanda stated. "I am here to find the same information. Dad had briefly explained me this place. Temple of Past. That jerk, Raptor, he killed him. He'll pay for it." She said. Her voice had pain which I could relate to. "Your father also was killed, right?" Amanda asked me. I nodded.

"Alright then, it's time we get going. You can join us." Lily said. The two huge doors closed making a BOOM noise. Just as we began walking, I fell down in pain. The Skrop poison's effect hadn't vanished yet. The others surrounded me. Amanda quickly got down to her knees.

"Stay still!" She ordered as she brought her hand to the mark on my stomach. For some reason, I felt better. Though not fully healed, I got up. "How?" Oliver demanded. "Just a small magic technique father taught." Amanda smiled. "Then why didn't he himself go to fight Raptor?" Lily murmured under her breath.

We started proceeding ahead. The walls had words written on them. "Same kinds of words were present in the Forbidden Dungeon as well!" Oliver exclaimed. "It's of no use, though. I had gone there to check, but the structure was broken after your fight." Amanda said. The way she talked, it seemed as if Rock Flames had taught her a lot of things including being a leader.

"How are we supposed to read this Xorain language?" Lily asked, examining the walls. "Dad has taught me the Xorain language. I could help." Amanda spoke up. I almost wanted to scream, Stop impressing us! There's a limit. "How did your father know the language?" Oliver enquired but Amanda shrugged, clearly not knowing the answer.

She went up to the walls and examined the letters. "It's not about King Jalaar. But it says some about a planet named Earth." She said. You would be like, Now we're talking!!

"It says this: Every planet in Z-10 Traphaelia, our universe, has a clone in the universe of Earth. Darknor resembles Earth. That proves why there are similarities between the two planets." Amanda stated. Technology-wise, we were almost same with phones and many such materials. Even the building looked same. There were more details about Earth but we decided to move on and find the information we required.

Ahead, Amanda scanned the writings but found nothing of use. As Oliver was walking, he stepped on the ground and the floor below him slid open. He would have fallen if Lily wasn't fast enough. The traps had begun. "Walk careful, everybody." I warned. We reached the end of the room, a door in front. It was rusted and required physical force to open. Oliver and I pulled the door with full force and were thrown back when it opened.

We proceeded into the next room. This one was even darker. I could see spider webs on the roof. None of us knew how big the room was. It was a maze with huge walls of enough length to prevent us from seeing the other side. We walked into the maze, without any helping map. "This is the best place for traps." Amanda suggested.

We had several turnings in front of us with no clue which one was the correct path. We went to the right corner. "It's too dark. We can't be sure when a trap may pop out…" Oliver complained. Just then, fire arrows were shot from the roof which we had missed by just a centimeter's distance. "…such as this!" Oliver concluded.

The path came to a dead end and we had to go back to the start. This time we took the slightly left-sided path. The path had cobwebs sticking on the walls which were really annoying. We encountered innumerous death traps but somehow managed to live. Suddenly, my foot hit something. It seemed to crush something below. We looked down to watch a broken skeleton's mouth staring at me. "Don't scream, don't scream." I calmed myself and quickly moved away from it.

As we continued, we met many other skeletons. If this wasn't horror, nothing else is. I preferred to fight Raptor and die instead of dying of fear. After a good two hours of wandering, we reached the exit. My watch showed 5:34 am.

The huge doors in front of us were again rusted like the previous one. This time, all four of us pulled the doors. It seemed to be having magnetic power. "Just open up!" Lily shouted and pulled with all her might. We did the same as the door flung open.

We entered the darkness, the next room.
