Behind the glass window and underneath a flickering light was the corpse of what appeared to be a young boy. The boy's body was strapped down to a metal table decomposing, with wires and tubes running in and out of it. At the end of one of the tubes was another body that resembled one of the creatures in the glass tubes.
"Were they doing human experiments? But for what reason, and why did it have to be with a child?" Sydra asked out loud as he stood back up and walked back to the glass window. Looking at the boys body, Sydra could tell it was no longer fully human, as it had fangs inside it's mouth, and there were fins on the back of it's arms. Deciding to go back and get the others, Sydra quickly raced out of the room and went to find them.
"Robert? Erich? Cidre? Where are you guys at? I found something that you guys need to see." Sydra yelled as he raced back into the room that had planets floating about in it.
"What's wrong? Why are you yelling for us?" Robert asked, followed quickly behind by Erich. They were both carrying rocks that resembled meteorites in their arms.
"Where is Cidre, do either of you know?" Sydra asked seeing that Cidre hadn't come out after he called for him.
"We sent him to go and get you after we found all these rocks. He didn't meet up with you?" Erich asked confused, looking around the building to see if he could find him.
"No, I haven't seen him. Cidre! Where did you go?!" Sydra yelled out loud getting slightly worried about Cidre going missing.
'Clang' A door swung open with Cidre stumbling out, dragging the body of one of the scorpion-centipedes Sydra had seen in the glass tubes.
"I'm right here, huff, sorry I was attacked by this creature when I went to find Sydra. It came out of no where but it seemed incredibly weak as I only hit it on the head before it died," Cidre said, dropping the creature on the ground next to Erich. "Woo, other than that I'm fi..."
'Plop' Cidre fell onto the floor unconscious.
"Cidre," Erich said in alarm, bending down to flip Cidre over. While checking to see if he still had a pulse, Erich noticed a small bump on Cidre's neck "He is still breathing, it seems he is only knocked out at the moment. It looks like he was stung by something, so he may be poisoned," Erich said, pulling the shirt that was around Cidre's neck away and showing a small red bump.
"I thought he said he killed that thing easily, how could he have been stung?!" Robert said, dropping the rocks in his arms and rushing over to Cidre's side. "Quick we need to get him somewhere that we can check on his condition at!"
"Go into my Arbor Sanctum and take him up to the palace. I have medical equipment inside one of the rooms there. Also break one of the branches on my tree and collect the sap that comes out, it works as an antidote to any poison," Sydra said, before sending Erich and Cidre into his Arbor Sanctum.
"Shouldn't we go with them? What if Erich needs help carrying Cidre into the palace?!" Robert said, worried about Cidre's life.
"I can't enter the Arbor Sanctum with my physical body, so if I left here my body would be unprotected. If I sent you with them, then I would be left here all alone to take care of anymore of those creatures by myself. If I ended up getting stung, then the three of you would be stuck in the Arbor Sanctum with no way to get out," Sydra said, as he activated his bone armor and pulled out his Luminous Night Deer Dagger which could petrify things stabbed with it, and a dagger he received from the plasma temple.
"That... makes sense, sorry I wasn't thinking clearly," Robert says, as he pulls out his war hammer and infuses it with fire aura. Using the war hammer to light up the room a little bit around them, Sydra and Robert looked to see if they could find any more of the creatures.
"I don't see anymore around here, but we should check the rooms one by one just to make sure," Sydra said, as he walked up to one of the doors and opened it. Behind the door was a simple closet with a few brooms and mops, along with other cleaning supplies.
"Well, there are none in that room, only sixteen more doors to open, haha," Robert said, as Sydra shut the door and they walked up to the next one. This time it was a small office with cabinets that lined the wall. Opening one of the cabinets, Sydra found a folder that was tagged as Barbed Scorpede.
"The Barbed Scorpede is an alien species that crashed landed on Phisloke inside of a rock made from Starlight Onyx. They seem to be a mix of scorpions and centipedes, and they have the ability to fire their barbs towards anything that may pose a threat to them. We only found out about them after we brought the large piece of Starlight Onyx back into our base. At that moment we were over taken by the creatures, before we managed to kill them all. We lost a total of seventy-three people, and those who were poisoned are slowly dying. We heard that the Emerald Plant group have created a seed that can be used to create an antidote for this poison," Sydra said, as he read the contents of the folder.
"Didn't you say that you found that groups building, and that the reason the Emerald Sea Forest was created was because they were under attack?" Robert asked, while looking inside some of the other cabinets that held folders of more information on the findings of this group.
"Yeah, it seems that the secret behind the Emerald Sea Forest goes much deeper than I previously thought. I'm hoping that the others ruins can shed more light on this whole thing. For now we should just send these cabinets into the Arbor Sanctum and look over there contents later," Sydra said, before sending all thirteen cabinets over.
"Looks like this room is empty lets head to the next room," Robert said, leading Sydra out of the room and shutting the door behind them. Sydra then took his dagger and marked the door with an X to show that they had already been through that room.
"Hey, this looks like the cafeteria," Robert said, as he opened the next door that led to a room filled with long lunch tables. Looking around, Sydra tried to see if there was a light switch to turn on the lights so that they didn't have to rely on Robert's war hammer.
"Do you see a light switch?" Sydra asked, not spotting one in the room.
"Hmm, yeah it is over there, but do you actually think there is still power in the runes? It seems that this place has been empty for a long while," Robert said as he began walking over to the light switch.
"Yeah, I turned on some lights in a previous room. So this one should work as well," Sydra said, as they made their way over. Halfway between the light switch and the door, Sydra heard a small scuttling sound go across the floor. "Hold on a moment... I think I heard something," Sydra said, as he stopped Robert and had him raise his hammer into the air.
"Holy cows on cheese..." Robert said, as he looked out across the cafeteria that now looked more like a sea of eyes staring back at them.
'Shlick' A long needle pierced the wall right besides Sydra's head. At the end of the needle was a purple liquid dripping down.
"Do you have some way to protect you from the needles?" Sydra asked, as he manipulated his bone armor to cover his face. In the middle of the helmet was a long slit that allowed Sydra to see where he was going. Activating his lightning aura, Sydra's eyes began to glow with an Ashgold color.
"Yeah, I can manipulate my fire to cover my body with armor that is so hot that it should melt the needles," Robert said, as his body was encased in fire that he compressed to an incredibly thin amount. This forced all the fire aura to build up and increased the heat of it as well. Wrapping his hand around the needle that had been shot towards them, Robert melted it before his hands had fully closed around it.
"Good, lets kill these creatures then," Sydra said as he shot off into the sea of Scorpedes. Using his fire aura to boost his speed, Robert was only a few feet behind him. Lifting his war hammer into the air and slamming it into one of the Scorpedes.
'Screech' The Scorpede let out a loud scream as its shell disintegrated underneath the heat, leaving nothing but ash behind.
