"Any change in his condition?" Erich asked, leaning over Sydra's shoulder and looking down at Cidre. Cidre's breathing began to stabilize, and the yellow lines that were that were surrounding the swollen spot on his neck were slowly fading away,
"Yeah, it looks like the antidote is taking affect quickly, and with the rate of this cure Cidre should be waking up within a few minutes." Sydra said while pulling out the green needle from Cidre's neck and putting it inside a glass jar off to the side. They might need it again when they entered the room that the Scorpedes were guarding.
"Well that is good, I was worried for him a bit there," Robert said as he sat down in a chair in the corner of the room. "So what should we do now?"
"I think we should explore the other rooms in the base while we wait for Cidre to wake up. That way, when we venture beyond that doorway to find out what they were guarding from us we will have ourselves back up at full power," Sydra said while sitting down on the bed beside Cidre and looking at the other two.
"What did you guys find while I was in here?" Erich asked, still standing and wiping Cidre's head with a wash cloth. Since the poison was being fought off by Cidre's body he had a small fever.
"We killed a lot of the creatures that stung Cidre, and ended up in huge battle inside the cafeteria. They seemed to be guarding something from us, and we are curious to find out what it is," Robert responded, while drinking some water that he had taken out of his backpack.
"Really? Hmm, if they went so far to die for what ever it is, it must be pretty important to them," Erich said while dipping the washcloth back into a water bucket.
"That is what we were thinking as well. By the way. we also found out that someone was doing human experiments here, and it doesn't seem to have been that long ago. It also struck us as odd that the rooms we entered seemed to have been cleaned periodically. Did you also notice such things while you were exploring earlier?" Sydra asked, hoping to figure out more information on the place they were exploring.
"Not exactly, but I did find something that resembled a metal bird. I believe it is some kind of vehicle but it doesn't have any wheels," Erich said, sitting down on the bed next to Sydra.
'Urgh' Cidre groaned lightly as his eyes slowly flickered open.
"Hey, your finally awake?" Erich said looking back over at Cidre who was trying to sit up in his bed.
"What happened? My head feels like I spent all night drinking, but I don't remember having a good time," Cidre said as he looked around the room and saw everyone staring at him.
"What do you remember?" Sydra asked, hoping that Cidre didn't have memory loss due to the poison.
"I remember killing some type of creature and bringing it back to you guys, but everything beyond that is all a blur to me. Why are you all suited up in your bone armor?" Cidre asked looking over at Sydra who appeared in the same outfit as he was wearing outside.
"We were recently in a battle, and we just finished it up. Then I was to busy trying to find an antidote for the poison that you were injected with, so I haven't really had time to take off my armor," Sydra explained, before telling Cidre everything else that they had been through.
"I see, well I do feel a little better, but I don't think I am in a fighting state just yet, I might need a little more time before that," Cidre said while waving his arms around a little bit.
"That is fine, we were just going to explore the building a little bit more before heading into that place. Did you want to explore it with us? If there is any fighting you can just leave it to us," Robert said while standing back up and tossing his war hammer over his shoulder.
"Yeah, I think I can move enough to be able to explore without slowing you guys down. Plus more eyes are better to find things," Cidre said as he swung his legs over the side of the bed and stood up. Seeing him stand up without stumbling reassured the others that he was fine once more.
"Alright I will send you guys out, but I still need to do a few things here first. I'll be out right after that is done," Sydra said while everyone else nodded and walked over to him. Placing his hands on each of them, Sydra sent them back into the cafeteria. Once they were all gone he headed over to his tree and looked at his aura roots.
'That's weird... Why haven't I acquired anything from killing the Scorpedes? Is it it because they are not native to Phisloke, so they don't have the same aura as other creatures on this planet?' Sydra wondered while looking over his three glowing roots, and the last two that had yet to absorb anything. Sending them away, Sydra then went to grab the glass containers that he had picked up from the Emerald Tree group's building.
"I might as well plant these while I have the time, I might need what ever grows from them later," Sydra said as he unscrewed the lid on each of the glass containers and planted the seeds that were within them. Using his Root Echo power, Sydra could determine that none of the plants were harmful to people, but he still couldn't decipher the effects they would have once they matured.
"I guess that is all I can do for now," Sydra said as he sprinkled the ash and compost he had mixed together over the places that he planted the seeds. Finished with everything he had to do inside the Arbor Sanctum he left to regroup up with the others back in the cafeteria.
'Clang' The sound of swords hacking against his Ancient Root Defense startled Sydra as he opened his eyes and looked around.
"Dang it, Sydra! You forgot to deactivate your straw golems before sending us out here, and now they are trying to hack us to pieces!" Robert exclaimed from beneath the bubble shield that was being stabbed with swords. Erich, Cidre, and Robert had all been teleported underneath the defense, and at the moment it was a bit crowded with all of them in here. When they had appeared in the room the spiders that were inside the straw golems heads had detected them and began attacking the Ancient Root Defense. Luckily the roots were able to hold out underneath the straw golems barrage of attacks, otherwise the group would have only Sydra left in it.
"Oh crap! Sorry, hold on a second!" Sydra said, as he sent out commands to the spiders that everyone in the room at the moment was to not be attacked. Once the spiders had received the new command they stopped attacking the roots. With the attack over, Sydra slowly lowered the defense and allowed everyone to fall out of it.
"I'm never leaving the defense up to you again," Robert said while looking warily at the straw dummies. He had never been so afraid of horse food before, but now he had a new respect for it.
"That was certainly an interesting time..." Cidre said while looking around the battle worn room. "Wow, you guys really went all out in here, didn't you?" he asked.
"Yeah, we had to set off a small explosion to kill off the rest of the creatures. Surprisingly the room didn't also catch on fire," Robert said while walking over to the door that led back into the room with the floating planets inside it. Pulling back his war hammer and infusing it with his fire aura, he slammed it into the ice wall. He expected the ice to completely shatter and break, but it only caused a few cracks to appear. "What rank is that staff that you used to create this ice wall? It didn't break when I hit it with my hammer," He said, looking slightly embarrassed at that fact.
"My staff? It is at the pseudo mythical rank, I got it from an Ice Dragon that died in front of me that had a total of seven horns," Sydra said proudly, pulling out the staff and showing it to the others.
"Dang, guess that means I will have to hit this wall a few more times," Robert said, feeling slightly better about the fact that the ice wall hadn't shattered under one hit.
"How did you manage to find a dying dragon, and acquire the staff after it died? I haven't heard of any dragons dying recently," Cidre said, looking at the staff with some greed in his eyes.
"I entered a spatial rift, and it teleported me inside a cave that the dragon was using as its dying grounds. I was lucky that it had died before I appeared there, other wise I wouldn't be here right now," Sydra said while putting the staff away.
