Once Sydra had completely stopped, he slowly walked back over the gash and looked down. It was too dark to see anything at the moment, except for the glowing lights of course.
"I should probably make sure the ditching the Fluttershi inside the Arbor Sanctum didn't startle the others," Sydra said, as he sat down and entered a meditation position. Once inside his Arbor Sanctum, Sydra headed to the mansion to see if anyone had woken up. Seeing everyone still, asleep Sydra sighed and left. "Now to figure out what those lights are," he said as he pulled off his backpack and took out a fifty-meter rope and his lantern. Tying the lantern to the end of the rope, Sydra began to lower it into the gash.
"Hmm, seems this gash is around thirty-seven meters deep, and I believe I jumped around thirteen feet over it. I wonder what caused this thing to form, from the size of the gap it must have been incredibly large," Sydra said as he stood back up and tied the rope around a tree. Heading back over to the gash he began to descend into the darkness.
Upon reaching the bottom, Sydra picked back up his lantern and walked over to a glowing stone on the ground. Squatting down to study it, Sydra was surprised to see it was a piece of Starlight Onyx which was normally hard to find. Starlight Onyx came from outer space and usually was found in small quantities inside meteorites. However, the piece Sydra just found was the size of a baseball, and it was incredibly pure. Looking back up at all the other glowing stones, Sydra saw that they were all Starlight Onyx.
"These are normally used in the tip of rune inscribing pens, as they are incredibly sturdy and runes made with them are also more stable. With this many, just how many high-quality pens can be made? Each one of these stones cost a hundred gold, and there are over a thousand in here. Haha... We just became rich..." Sydra mumbled as he walked down the gash picking the stones up along the way and sending them into his Arbor Sanctum.
Reaching down to pick up another one, Sydra was surprised that it wouldn't come out of the ground. Pulling out two of his daggers, Sydra began to dig into the dirt that surrounded the rock. An hour later and Sydra was still digging into the dirt around the stone. He had only managed to dig it up halfway at the moment, but the hole was already up to his knees.
"I wonder if I can just send it to my Arbor sanctum without digging it up," Sydra said, as he slumped back in his hole. Placing his hand on the stone, Sydra sent it to his Arbor Sanctum without difficulty. "Oh come on! That really worked?! Doesn't that mean this entire past hour was a waste?" Sydra yelled as he threw his dagger at the side of the gash in anger.
'Clang' The sound of the daggers hitting something else that wasn't dirt alerted Sydra. Climbing out of the hole and walking over to the wall, Sydra picked up his daggers that had fallen to the ground. After putting his daggers away, he began to clean the dirt off what appeared to be a metal door. Once all the dirt was gone, Sydra stepped back and looked at the door in front of him. Parts of the door were incredibly rusted, and cracks were running up and down it.
"Might as well see what is behind this door," Sydra said as he lifted his foot and kicked at the door.
'Sloop' The sound of his foot passing through the door surprised Sydra, as he had never heard a door make that sound before.
"Sloop? What kind of sound is sloop? Nothing even happened to the door, and my foot seems fine." Sydra pondered as he pulled his foot out of the door and swung it around. Seeing everything was fine, Sydra placed his hand upon the door and pressed against it using a bit of force.
'Sloop' His hand passed through the door, and Sydra fell forward into the door and landed on the ground on the other side.
"What the hell, where am I?!" Sydra asked himself as he stood up and looked around. He seemed to be in an incredibly clean, white hallway, and the door he had come through a second ago was now incredibly clean as well. Pressing his hands up against the door, Sydra attempted to apply pressure to get out the same way he got in, but nothing happened.
"This is weird, maybe I should just follow the hallway and see where I end up?" Sydra asked aloud, before walking slowly down the long corridor for a few minutes. It wouldn't be good if he ended up walking into a more perilous situation than he was in now.
Eventually, he came across another door, but this time it was made out of glass. Pulling on the handle on the door, Sydra easily swung it open and walked into the hallway on the other side. At the end of the hallway was another glass door, and when the door behind him shut sprinklers came out of the ceiling and sprayed Sydra with a clear mist. It all happened so suddenly that Sydra didn't have time to cover his eyes and mouth and ended up breathing in the mist.
'Dang, I swear at every turn something tries to kill me, this is probably poison mist that will do the same,' Sydra thought as he waited for the mist to take effect. Before he could resign to his fate, the door at the other end of the hallway opened at Sydra walked out of the hallway fine.
"That is odd, what was the mist meant to do then?" Sydra wondered as he looked around the new room he had entered. It was filled with mostly dead plants and vines that went across the room. On the far side of the room was a desk with a notepad on it and a small glass container with a seed floating in some blue liquid inside.
"We have finally managed to create it. The seed that will produce the Gods Tree, a mythical tree that can only be found on the other side of the door to the gods. At the moment we are under siege from the rest of the powerhouses as they all wish to get their hands on this seed. We, the Emerald Tree Group, have decided to send everyone into oblivion by using our trump card. Once the Emerald Sea Forest is released, everyone that is within its range will be wiped out immediately so that no one gets their hands on this seed." Sydra said as he read the notebook that was on the table. Putting it down, Sydra began to think about everything the note revealed.
'It seems that at one point, there were multiple powerhouses in this area before it turned into a forest. They all somehow heard of this group called the Emerald Tree Group had created a seed that would eventually grow into a tree that could only be found on the other side of this so-called door of the gods. I believe this is that seed,' Sydra thought as he picked up the glass container and looked at the golden seed with purple sparkles on it. 'I am curious why this seed was so important to everyone, and what this tree is supposed to do,' he thought as he sent the glass container into his Arbor Sanctum.
"From the other message on the notebook, it seems that the entire Emerald Sea Forest is not a natural occurrence, and was preordained by this group. I wonder if they have any other things here that I could take," Sydra said as he looked around the room and saw several cabinets on one of the walls. Opening the cabinets, Sydra found a total of thirteen more glass containers with more seeds inside them. Each seed was different, but they all seemed to be useful so Sydra sent them all into the Arbor Sanctum as well.
"Well, that seems to be the end of everything in here, now back to trying to find a way out of here," Sydra said as he continued looking for a way out of the building. A few minutes later he found another door that led to a different hallway. At the end of the hallway was another door that resembled the first door he entered very closely.
"This place is weird... Oh well, I don't have time to figure out why I appeared in another part of this building when I entered this door." Sydra told himself, as he opened the door and appeared back in the gash he had been in earlier.
Looking at the sky, Sydra noticed that it was beginning to light once more, and he didn't have time to keep picking up rocks. Racing back to the rope he had used to descend, Sydra climbed back up and pulled the Fluttershi out of his Arbor Sanctum.
"Man, the guys are sure going to be surprised when they see all the Starlight Onyx that I was able to gather," Sydra said as he got back on track to the first ruins.
