"Do you need something?" Adrian asked.
"We need you to prove your abilities?" Sofia stated.
"Have I not proven it when I probed into your mind?" Adrian replied.
"I know but we do not know if you can actually read the mind of other Deviants easily." Sofia rebuked.
"Deviants? Is that what you people call individuals with abilities in this era?" Adrian muttered.
"This era? Anyways, if you can succeed in the task then you will officially be part of the organization." Sofia stated.
"Fine but I need a change of clothes. I am starting to feel cold with how much cold air is touching my skin." Adrian stated as he showed that he was still in a hospital gown.
"Get him clothes." Sofia ordered.
"You mean me?" Joe asked.
"Would I ask him? He just arrived here." Sofia rebuked.

Adrian is then escorted to another room where a woman is more restrained than he was. She was in a straight jacket and even her head is tied up so she cannot break her neck. Adrian, Sofia and Joe were not the only one in the area as the others also came to observe.
"This is the one we need you to read. She was a normal high school teacher a few days ago until she started to stab her students with a pen. We concluded that her powers are something like Material Alteration because the pen she used never broke despite it being a cheap product." Sofia stated.
"If you wanted to read her mind then you should have just asked your resident telepath." Adrian stated as his gaze fell on Esme.
"How did you know I was a telepath?!" Esme suddenly asked.
"It gets annoying when someone is trying to poke into your mind. It feels like there is a fly buzzing near my ear so could you please stop." Adrian stated with a smile. She finally stopped probing Adrian's mind when Sofia looked at her.
"So, can you read her memories?" Joe asked as he wanted to solve this case soon. They needed to stop Deviants becoming drunk on their power and turning into Depraved. Depraved are basically Deviants who lost all humanity and use their powers for senseless killing.
"Something is strange about her, but I cannot put my finger on what that is. I guess I should try to read her memories then. You need to wake her up though as it would be more effective." Adrian stated.
Joe then left for a few moments and returned with a syringe in his hand. He then injected some drug into the woman's shoulder and her eyes suddenly opened. The first thing that emanated from her was bloodlust and she directed it to everyone in the room.
Adrian did not need to touch her hands because of the intense emotion she is releasing. Adrian would only result to physical contact when he needs to get a thought across, or he finds it difficult to read the other person.
Adrian's an Empath which means his abilities is labeled under psychic powers. Psychic powers operate under the guise of an aura which only peak psychic ability users could see. Every person has an aura and auras have different colors depending on the mood of a person.
Adrian's eyes glowed green but he found nothing despite the immense emotion the woman is projecting. He tried once more and probed the mind of the woman, but he was not seeing anything. In all of his incarnations, he has only experienced this in two different occasions.
The first occasion is the individual having godlike powers. The other time would be when a person was possessed by an evil spirit. There would be dissonance between the body and the soul. This dissonance will lead to the death of the body being possessed as it is trying to repel a foreign entity.
"What do you see?" Sofia asked with great anticipation.
"I see nothing." Adrian replied.
"Nothing?" Sofia muttered in a startled tone because she believes that their worries will be solved as of today.
"I guess he is all talk anyway. He looked down on us despite him not producing results." Esme rebuked.
"I did not mean that I saw nothing about them becoming Depraved. I am telling you that I saw nothing as in the brain holds no memory. All I saw is darkness." Adrian stated which suddenly made everyone feel chills.
"Can you explain?" Joe asked.
"My only guess could be is possession. She is being possessed by another spirit. Sensing this immense bloodlust, I could only describe that spirit is of evil in nature." Adrian replied.
"Seriousy, an evil spirit! Ahaha! If you just say that you cannot read her mind, then we would have agreed but evil spirit." Esme laughed.
"The modern world has yet to find evidence of ghost. So, evil spirits are just the stuff of fantasy." Whiz stated as he is leaning more into science.
"I expected more from the other psychic, but it seems that she has yet to unlock her third eye. It seems her psychic abilities come from elsewhere and not from aura." Adrian muttered as he knows psychics in this planet use aura to use their abilities.
"He is talking about the Mind's Eye. My family has known about it and has even recorded those who have it. I am with the empath on this one." Jihan stated which made the others stop laughing. They knew Jihan is not the type of person to joke around as he deals with Chi.
"Are you saying that this woman is possessed?" Sofia asked as she has encountered possessed people in her lifetime albeit rare.
"Why don't we ask the evil spirit in question? Remove her muzzle. I know that whatever it is inhabiting that body is itching to speak." Adrian stated as he moved a few feet away.
Sofia removed the woman's muzzle and the latter immediately grinned wide. The woman started laughing hysterically until she became tired. She laughed so heartily that spit is being launched from her mouth.
"Who are you?!" Joe asked in an intimidating manner.
"I am the Devil!" The woman replied.
"Oh…really? Everyone likes clout these days." Adrian commented.
