A Tale of Pride
Haunted by dreams he can’t fully remember, shackled by a bloodline that is both a blessing and a curse, Jabari is thrust onto a path of vengeance – one born from tragedy but fuelled by love.
Still, as he grows stronger, as the fire inside him blazes hotter, he begins to realise the truth. The part of him he spent his whole life suppressing was never a weakness. It was never a sin.
It was his Pride!
And now that it had awakened, after years buried beneath hardship and survival, it would rather burn the world down before it bowed to anyone again.

For as long as Jabari could remember, it had always been him and Inayah against the world. No family. No safety. No future. Just two starving children clawing their way through the slums of the Umeme Tribe, doing whatever it took to survive. It wasn’t much, but at the very least, they had each other!
Then, Inayah got sick!
At first, Jabari thought it was just another cruel twist of fate – one more reminder that the world didn’t give a damn about them. But then the truth came out. His little sister’s illness wasn’t fate. It wasn’t an accident. Someone did this to her. And worse… it was someone he had once dared to call a friend!
On the receiving end, betrayal was of the cruellest of punishments. It didn’t just hurt – it burned. It carved into the flesh, etched itself into the bones, and branded itself onto the soul. It took something from you that you could almost never get back.
But for the dealer? Betrayal was a gamble. High risk. High reward.
Play your cards right, and you could have everything you ever wanted, and more. Pick the wrong person, though…
At that point, death won’t be a punishment – it’ll be a mercy!
Jabari will save his sister. As for those responsible?
He’ll make them wish they were never born!

I understand that Volume 1 is a little slow, so for those impatient readers out there, feel free to skip to Volume 2. It'll take a minute to understand everything that happened in the without reading Volume 1, but it's not too disorientating!
