"I am the Devil!" The woman shouted with a maniacal laugh. Her voice also became darker and huskier.
"Seriously…This is the reason I hate these evil spirits. They like to role play so that their real names are hidden." Adrian commented but the others did not hear him because they were alarmed with what they heard.
"I have seen scenes like this in movies. This will not end well for us." Whiz commented as he hid behind Jihan.
"You do not actually believe that. She could just be acting." Esme stated but even she took a few steps back.
The woman suddenly released a dark aura that made everyone's skin crawl. It is an aura that made them gag for no apparent reason. Adrian has encountered this aua before when he went to the witch doctor for the first time.
There was a man that was claimed to be possessed by land spirits or enkantos. The aura was almost similar, but the difference is that the woman in front of him does not have another soul. There are also signs of necrosis from the body of the bound woman.
"Do your thing, Joe." Adrian ordered.
"Eh?" Everyone in the room reacted.
"What do you mean by 'Joe doing his thing'?" Sofia asked.
Adrian had a look of pure wonder and amazement because he found out that the others do not know what Joe really is.
"Joe does not have powers for battle or anything that could be used against another person. He only has his immortality as he cannot age. I thought he told you since you two seemed close." Dustan commented.
Adrian looked at Joe with judging eyes, but the latter averted his gaze. If Joe is keeping this façade, then that means his divinity has yet to fully seep out of his body. The show of force earlier was just a bluff.
"If he cannot do anything then does anyone know a person who can rip a soul out from the body?" Adrian asked as he is not yet fully integrated with his powers as well. If Adrian does the deed, then he might destroy the evil spirit upon extracting from the body.
"I will curse all of you and your descendants for I am the devil!" The distorted voice of the woman shouted.
Adrian could no longer bear to hear her ramblings, so he jammed the muzzle back on the woman's mouth. The others were surprised because of this act as they thought he would not disrespect the entity possessing the woman.
"Can you, do it? With your powers, I am sure that you can find out a way to get out answers." Joe asked Adrian.
"I can but it would be painful. The evil spirit would most likely get destroyed in the process. This is my first time doing it after all." Adrian replied and Joe just nodded. He needed to find the reason sooner rather than later. If Deviants keep becoming Depraved, then it would destroy the balance of the world.
Deviants would be used for wars as this world is not as peaceful as it seems. It might seem peaceful because no wars have been waged but that does not mean they are ready to go to war. Secret societies of Deviants have long been the backbone of great countries, but chaos could ensue if they come to light.
It has been etched in human history that they do not like those that are different. Deviant could either be persecuted or turn into soldiers for the benefit of countries. In the end, what needs to be secret must always be kept secret.
"I will force the evil spirit out then, but we need to prepare to bind it to an object. It would just escape if we do not bind it." Adrian stated.
"What makes you so sure that the spirit needs to be bound?" Esme asked as she is not buying it.
"Evil spirits need to have a medium in order to create chaos. They feed on negative emotions like fear and suffering. Ancient humans used to bind them inside boxes or jars but the most powerful thing to trap them is a human body." Joe stated which made everyone have chills.
"Evil spirits are real as I have encountered them when the witch hunt was ongoing. Countless souls in grief combined to enact vengeance. Those souls summoned plagues and caused unrest. Fortunately, a cursed ring came with her." Sofia stated as she imagined the scene from hundreds of years ago once more.
"Let us see if you can still call yourself the devil when I am done with you." Adrian grinned as his eyes glowed in a golden light.
Adrian's hand glowed in a pale golden color and grasped the woman's head. The eyes of the Depraved woman are looking at him like she was throwing daggers. The eyes full of hatred did not last long though as she started to scream in pain.
Muffled screams sounded with the woman's eye twitching. She looked like she was in intense pain, but Adrian did not care because the body is already dead. It was only an evil spirit that is inhabiting the body. Even the soul of the woman would forgive her as no one would like to desecrate their dead body.
Adrian's hand emitted a golden aura that is seeping to the woman's brain. He is trying to locate where the evil spirit is hiding inside the dead body of the woman. The evil spirit would have to occupy somewhere useful to control the body so it would none other be the brain.
It would have been much easier if Adrian's powers are already fully recovered. If he has access to his peak power, then it would only take him a second to separate a spirit from the body. Angels are the basically Lightworkers of the highest degree. This is the reason they could ferry the souls of the dead.
"Found you!" Adrian stated as he smirked with delight.
