Chapter 8 - ~7~

Prim sauntered tired through the knee deep snow. She was exhausted and half froze, but she was too scared to sleep. She watched as the last bit of light slowly fell behind the north mountains.

That was it. She needed to find shelter now, before she froze to death. But she was miles away from the nearest village.

Prim stopped suddenly. What was that..? She squinted into the dark trees, but she couldn't see it anymore. It had to have been her imagination...The whole Plane was empty; all except for her a Vespertine.

Her anger had finally boiled over causing Prim to scream into the white desert.

But instead of her own voice, howls echoed back.

She froze, unbreathing and Shaking from cold and fear.

There it was again, the glowing blood red orbs in the black of night.

But that's impossible...She made every thing vanish...Didn't she..?

Suddenly the huge wolf lunged from the trees. This time Prim wasn't going to just stand there in fear for her life. This time, she took off through the valley as fast as her legs would carry.

More howls echoed in her mind from every direction. She watched as more and more wolves filled into the valley, All lustful for blood.

"Go away!" She cried, but her voice was lost in the wind and snow, and it was no more then a small whisper.

She ran the way the moon rose, high above the Plane. And her legs were screaming for her to slow, or stop all together. But she couldn't...Not now...

Reluctantly she pushed herself harder, and harder, but the wolves were showing no sign of slowing down.

"Please!" She sobbed. "Why are you doing this- Ahhh!"

Her feet tangled beneath her and she fell hard into the snow, and the moment she hit the ground, all of the howling and gnashing of fangs had ceased.

The night was suddenly eerily silent...And even more glacial.

As much as she wanted to get up again her bones ached and she was drained in more ways then one.

She laid her head down on her arm, and listened to the wind as it sung her to sleep. And in her dreams, Dolion, Benjamin, the girl, all of the villagers, they were all home safe again.

When prim opened her eyes again she didn't know where she was.

She sat up and notice a fire burning in the fireplace across from her, and three picture frames hanging on the wall behind her. In the frames there were three people. A boy, and two girls. The boy had a long face and knotted jet black hair, and next to him, a girl with auburn hair tied back in a big blue bow. And next to her was...Prim..?

Across the room Prim saw her coat resting on a coat hook beside the door.

She snatched it and stuffed her arms into the long sleeves. But when she opened the door, She notice even more snow had fallen.

She cursed under her breath, but continued anyways.

She could feel the warmth of the suns rays on her skin, but it was over shadowed by the biting cold.

"Hello?" She called out. But there was no answer. She looked back at the house she had just come out of. It was bigger then most she'd seen in the Plane. But still pretty small.

How did she get there? Is it possible that Vespertine didn't vanish everyone? Or maybe she forgot someone?

And the question that was at the very front of her mind, was who were the kids in the photos? And why was she one of them?
