"Get up"
Prim's eye lids fluttered open and Dolion was standing over her.
"Here" He whispered taking her hand and pulling her to her feet. Prim looked back at Alastar who was still asleep in his red chair.
"What about him?" She asked.
Dolion shook his head. "Bringing him is too risky"
"Why?"
"He will act on emotion instead of reason. He'll get us all killed"
"I don't understand-"
"Later, Prim" He said collection all of their things and headed for the door. Prim looked back at Alastar, then followed Dolion out of the small house.
The World around her was deeper in snow then ever before. It was beautiful, but nothing she should ever love to see.
"Prim" Said Dolion looking back at her.
"Sorry" She whispered as she continued after him. "We won't have to camp outside again will we?"
Dolion sighed. "It's a possibility, If we can't find shelter. But that shouldn't be hard"
Prim blew warm air into her half frozen hands then stuffed them into her pockets. "Where exactly are we going?" She asked.
"To find Mazereth. Or whoever it is you think is reeking havoc throughout the Plane"
"I don't think it's someone else. I know it is. Mazereth died. We saw it-"
"Maybe we don't know what we saw"
"Then what do you think we saw?"
Dolion was quiet for a long moment before he answered. "Maybe she's still alive...And maybe Ben is too"
Prim stared at him with sorrowful eyes. "Dolion-"
"I know. But it's possible...Right..?"
Prim shook her head. "No"
Finally they made it to the edge of the naked forest. It was odd to see. Prim longed for the lively city of trees she had once known.
"Prim!" Dolion Shouted but when Prim looked up it was too late. A pair of icy hands were at her throat and girl with burn hair and porcelain skin was staring back at her.
Her eyes were cold and sharp.
"Your a poisonous flower" She hissed. Then she disapparated into a misty white smoke and streamed away on the wind.
Prim was rubbing her cool fingers against her throat as Dolion approached her.
"Vespertine" Prim whispered still dazed.
"What?" Dolion asked lifting Prim's chin and peering down at her bruised neck.
"Her name...It's Vespertine. Not Mazereth"
He let go of her chin and was now staring down at her. "Who is Vespertine?"
Prim shrugged.
"Well, how did you know her name?"
Prim shrugged again. "I just...Do..?"
Prim could see his thoughts working as her began to pace. Suddenly he froze, and turned to face her. "Prim" He said all of the sudden as he started toward her. He placed two hands firmly on her shoulders as he spoke. "You need to think Prim...Do you know where she is"
Prim started blankly into his eyes. How was she supposed to know that?
He shook her from her thoughts. "Prim! Think!"
For a moment, she was caught off guard by his stern tone of voice. But then she closed her eyes and consecrated as best she could.
She could see nothing but darkness. But then...What was that..? Slowly, an image began to form within the darkness...Buildings burned in white fire, men, women, children, babies all running to get away...But most are not fast enough.
And in even in all of the chaos, she found it. The small sign that read the name of the small town, Lorn...
"Lorn" Prim whispered. She jumped at the sound of Dolion's voice. She was so focused on finding Vespertine that she had completely forgotten that he was even there.
"That's miles from here" He groaned.
~Flashback~
"What about Nyx?" Asked Prim.
"Nyx will stay hidden, she'll come when we need her" Dolion said.
"But how will she know?"
"So long as we need her she'll be around. Trust me"
Suddenly remembering, Prim pushed Dolion away and turned to the sky. "Nyx!" She called out.
She searched the clouds...Nothing.
"Why isn't she coming?"
Dolion shrugged. "I haven't seen her for months"
"Nyx!" Prim called again. But still no answer.
"We're never going to catch up to Vespertine on foot" Prim sighed.
"We have no other choice" Said Dolion as he trudged forward through the snow.
